The story line was easy to follow and the actors were spectacular. Parking is available off street or across the street at the Phoebe's lot for a fee. There is a concession stand and bar inside that offers candy, snacks, coffee, and alcoholic drinks (even a special creation for whatever play is showing). As a regular theatre-goer here in Rochester, I was SUPER excited to finally check out Syracuse Stage. They do co-productions with our LORT theatre Geva, and I have heard great things. The venue itself is classy, well maintained, with reasonable prices on everything from snacks to wine to tickets. Every staff member I interacted with was SO friendly. Special shoutout to the AMAZING box office staff! I had a conflict come up for my original show date and they exchanged me into a new date - no questions asked. At many theatre's, you have to pay an exchange fee or exchanges are only allowed for subscribers. That kind of accommodation will keep me coming back the next time they are doing a can't miss show (helllllo Amadeus next season!) Thank you to them for being so helpful and easy to work with! Even though the show I saw was not my cup of tea, I look forward to coming back and deeply appreciate them bringing high level talent to the upstate/central NY area. We are SO lucky to have a rich theatre scene, and Syracuse Stage is worth the special trip up from Rochester if there's something you're keen on seeing!

Got snacks and beverages with no problem. The staff was helpful and welcoming. One snafu was purses. They have to be small. I used a tiny purse for feminine products and the older gentleman at the door was holding his small paper over it, trying to judge if it was small enough. It was right at the limit, but obviously not huge. He almost sent me back to the car with it. Another woman next to me was turned away with her larger purse. So be mindful to keep it small!

Always feel like there is a lack of staff at events. Literally a guy on his phone having a conversation during the show. An employee was near and I asked them to do something and they said "not my job" I'll have to go out to the lobby and find so and so. Crazy, I hate the not my job attitudes and will never give a good review when I experience this. Also, very poorly understaffed at the concessions, it shouldn't take 20 minutes to purchase water during a 15 minute intermission. If you can avoid this place, I recommend strongly considering it. Hopefully the service here can improve, and some upgrades wouldn't hurt either.

The creepy and porcelain dolls, especially the one roaming the line giving Erie hugs was a little bit of frightening fun! Once again, local, national, and even international performances I have watched comedic acts here... including the owner as well as famous acts I have watched movies here I have come here for film and discussion events My grandson has taken acting classes I have attended photo and art exhibits, as well as demonstrations There may be other opportunities that I am missing, but I have had the pleasure to attend many interesting events at this venue. The owners are very community oriented and have done a really nice job bringing cultural events and workshops to our small city. Definitely worth checking out!

(Or getting a more affordable option.) It draws a nice mix of repeat vendors and new talent. One of my favorite finds this year was an art stall that made a human-operated vending machine of random prints, complete with sounds. I of course had to get some snacks along the way. Right Mind Syracuse had their splatter art up this year and I thought that was neat - would love to see more experiential arts & crafts where folks can participate. A nice way to spend the morning or afternoon, especially when the weather's nice.

Taste of Syracuse remains a great Syracuse event. There's always been vendors who give tiny samples…read moreand others who give super generous ones, you just have to take your chances (or spy on social media or other people's orders) to decide whether the portion is worth it. My usual routine is to go right at opening and beat the larger crowds, but this year I went in the evening on Saturday. Some streets had WAAYYYY more congestion than others and it was hard to move -- made even more difficult by the occasional person who had obviously been visiting the beer tent and had trouble walking straight. That aside, most lines moved pretty quickly, and was still able to get like 7-10 samples in the hour or so I was there. Standouts for me this year were the mango cheesecake loompya at Oompa Loompyas and the crab rangoon at Vietnamese Noodle House, but there were lots of tasty things. This festival is always a great way to check out brand new businesses making their debut in the CNY food scene, along with hitting up an old favorite or two.

I really appreciate this, as it lets me taste multiple stands and then buy thier full sized meals or snacks for my favorites. This year I was really in love with the shrimp bruschetta from Bold Coast Lobster, but there were several fantastic options. Most lines move pretty quickly which I also appreciate. F.T. Chen bringing in authentic chinese street food was also a huge hit for my group, as we are all foodies loving to try other cultural foods. We got the grilled squid on a stick and were very happy about that. Always get there early, to keep lines smaller. Also, always remember sunscreen.. its something we always seem to forget and the sun can be pretty brutal!
