If it's your first time here, you must try the Jamaican hot tea. Not really sure what's in it, but I was offered a sample and it was delicious! Not too sweet, a little tart on the finish, and caffeine loaded. I went with the cold brew and this had some zip. I was feeling great after a few hearty sips. Which was needed after the wedding party from the night before. Nice and smooth with a splash of almond milk. This is just a drive thru location with dual ordering windows to speed things up during those busy mornings. I do believe this is a credit/debit card only spot. Stay caffeinated friends. read more

We randomly found the town of St Michael's and decided to take a day trip there. It was a fun drive across the Bay Bridge. On our way to downtown St Michaels we saw this tiny shack in the parking lot. I immediately yelped it and found out that they serve beverages, coffee and juices, as well as some breakfast items and pastries. On our way home, we stopped by the cozy shack and ordered two iced macchiatos and a matcha latte. The service was quick. I was worried that we might be holding up the drive thru lane with our order, then came to find out that they accept orders at both sides of the shack! It was perfect for a hot summer day! Bottom Line: A drive through to get good coffee and friendly service at reasonable prices. Rise Up Coffee is a tiny building in a strip-mall parking lot that sells coffee and simple breakfast sandwiches. The have a drive through windows on both sides of the building so its easy to get in the queue regardless of from which direction you enter the shopping center. Service is friendly and the coffee is tasty. The prices are reasonable too! This Rise Up Coffee store is the flagship location. I believe they have eight locations now. Wanted to balance out another review I just wrote with this positive, upbeat review. Been through this drive-thru on maybe 3 occasions in the past few years when I visited my friend's summer house. This is a tiny shack drive-thru coffee place. You almost miss it if you drive by too fast. Cute little place, it was walking distance from where we were staying and lady let us order even though we were walking, not driving, hehe. Two young ladies work inside, very efficiently run and the coffee!!! I tried the almond latte, it was heavenly. My guest tried their frozen hot chocolate, she said it tasted like smores and she loved it. We are coming back tomorrow!! read more

This is a dumpy little coffee hut but damned if it doesn't have the best coffee in the area! Set in a not-so-scenic parking lot, Rise Up coffee really got me going with a giant latte. The coffee is smooth and the roast is careful--something I would expect from a city coffee shop where baristas actually train to make excellent drinks, roasts are done at the micro level and beans carefully selected, etc. I don't know where Rise Up gets their beans, but if you are in the area and looking for a cup of coffee, this is 100% the place to go. There is a cuter coffee shop in town, but their brews do not compare to Rise Up. And just so you know, I am a huge coffee snob who considers Starbucks on the level of say, gas station coffee. read more

Worth the trip from the DC area, almost by itself. Rise Up is outstanding at what it offers: fresh roasted, uniquely flavored, cozy and delicious coffee and top-of-the-line pastries. We stopped for a latte at the main store on Dover and were greeted with friendly, well-informed service and wonderful, authentic, large drinks. Later in the evening, our party stopped at the shack (remember the MotoPhotos of the 80s?) on Talbot Street ... and although they were "closed" they re-opened and went out of their way to serve some desperate travelers coffee that is reminiscent of the high-quality, unique blends and brews from places that I have only found in Portland Oregon. We bought a couple of pounds of their blends from Burundi and Guatemala and have shared them with friends ... to great acclaim. read more

I stopped by chance at the coffee hut while I was passing through St. Michael's on the way back to the city. I was tempted to bypass but the long line but was so glad I waited. The drinks were fantastic and the guys working were very friendly and patient answering all my questions (yes I'm that girl--what's in your coffee smoothie, wait I want skim). I had a coffee smoothie which was unreal..still dreaming about that. Others had the iced chai and hot chai with homemade whipcream. Even better-I found out that Rise Up will roast and send you beans with free shipping. Now if only they would deliver coffee smoothies to DC... read more

Delicious beverages and ethical coffee! Be prepared to wait a bit on busy days though. It's a small shack, you can't except service as speedy as other drive thru places. Other than the sometimes long wait, great place to stop for a coffee or a yummy pastry. I own & operate a seasonal market & coffee house in Ocean City MD; and this coffee by far- exceeds my own that I will be contacting whom ever I need to so that I may carry their product in my market for all to enjoy! For the less than 5 minutes that we spent talking with the employee; his service was sensational and he couldn't have been more pleasant and informative. This Rise Up Coffee is a drive through. It's a small little shack in a parking lot and cars drive by on either side of it to order a quick coffee or hot/cold drink. They have a pretty good menu, but most items are slightly expensive. The quality is nice, though. The customer service is fairly good, too. The employees are friendly and quick. read more

What a tiny coffee shop. I was going to stop at Blue Crab Coffee because a) it's right smack in the middle of town, and b) what a cute name for a coffee shop, but then I passed the turn off of the main street that I would have needed to take to find it, and then the next turn was a one-way going the wrong way, then the next turn was into the municipal parking lot . . . . sigh. Too hard by car, maybe if I'd been on foot. So I drove another 3 minutes down the road and turned into the laaaaarrrrrge and spaaaacious parking lot and pulled right up to RISE UP. What nice guys working there! And good coffee. Real coffee. Strong coffee. Tastes like they invested in an expensive espresso machine and know how to use it. And it was FAST. Which I love. Fast.
