Mint chocolate chip and cookie dough
    Kerri C.

When we walked in, I was met with so many milkshake and ice cream options I didn't know what to do with myself. The kind people behind the counter let me sample a few before I chose mint chocolate chip and cookie dough. My ice cream was MASSIVE. I recommend getting one scoop. With that said I ate it all. My boyfriend got a strawberry flavor and really enjoyed it! And we got the corgis a small vanilla, which they destroyed quickly. They highly recommend Justine's too!

Great options, quick wait time (even during prime afternoon ice creamtime). I loved finding this place while strolling down the Main Street & my daughter loved it even more

Full menu displayed - so many shakes!

An ice cream parlour in a cute village by the Cheasapeake? Yes please! We've been here several times and have always enjoyed a delicious creamy treat as we stroll around the town. Be it a cone, a sundae, or a shake you really cannot go wrong at Justine's. This particular trip I overindulged on an espresso chip sundae made with hot fudge, malt, marshmallow toppling and whipped cream. Literally three of the best toppings to pair with ice cream known to man. The malt - well, not really sure what that addd to the mix, but it didn't detract - so, who cares. The ice cream itself was simply divine. Rich and cream, bordering on gelato consistency. Definitely worth the stop. And the calories. Heck, you'll burn them off walking around. Or at least some of them...

Popped into justine's ice cream shop with my fam while we were bumming around St. Micheals. There was a line but it went quickly. The staff was nice and worked efficiently. I got the pistachio in a sugar cone, that's my jam;) it was delicious and creamy and hit the spot! I also got to try the butter pecan and rainbow sherbet. Really good ice cream! They have a few tables and chairs outside while you enjoy your yummy treat and lucky enough live music playing right across the street outside to enjoy.

Boy am I happy I decided to calorie bomb here- this may be the best ice cream I've ever had!! It was the chocolate covered pretzel caramel flavor. One scoop was an excellent value. Such a cute place! I'm still dreaming about that ice cream. Holy cow!

[Coronavirus review] They're open, with social distancing tape on the ground and shields separating cashier and customer. They must be doing decent business, because they were out of my favored mint chip and a couple of other flavors (and I dropped in well before closing). They're pretty much all dairy, and I wasn't blown away by the flavors they had left. My impression of them is elevated by a luminous pistachio that I ordered in shake form. There were quite a few actual pistachios in there (being dumb, I always order shakes with flavors that have small things that get stuck in straws), but frankly the actual nuts were not as good as the ice cream based on them. They made contactless payment pretty easy, and there are plenty of nice places in the neighborhood to get dinner beforehand and to eat your ice cream when you get it.

Oh how I have missed you!! First visit since 2020. Busy. So glad to see!!

Oh wow I have missed Justine's. After lunch at Gina's (fabulous, walking distance) be lined over to Justine's for my favorite ice cream! Seriously impressed the scoop is only $4! Remember to tip well. No samples due to COVID and I tried to pretend that I would get a different flavor but I always fall back on the same great one: sweet and salty caramel pretzel. One of these days I'll branch out and get mint chocolate chip or double fudge brownie. Support local! They really do it right here!

Double scoop of caramel chocolate pretzel and got chocolate with Heath bar topping. Do it!!

Coming from someone who is not easily impressed by fine dining, my SO said it was the best meal he's ever had. We had the scallop crudo (chef's kiss), an array of oysters, the corn ribs and pea salad (both were unreal), and I went with the trout and he had the burger. The trout was amazing. So fresh and perfectly cooked but honestly the burger really stole the show. It was the perfect cheeseburger - like something I remember from my childhood but somehow better. It tastes like nostalgia. Overall, amazing spot with great vibes. Money, time, and calories well spent.

The seafood was excellent. We loved the oysters and the tuna sushi that you roll yourself--it was fun and delicious. The potato chips with Iberian ham and manchego were incredible and one of the most memorable bites of the night. Service was outstanding. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. The desserts were also fantastic. The labneh ice cream was completely out of this world, and the olive oil cake was excellent as well. A couple of small notes: the endive salad wasn't our favorite because it was covered in onions, which wasn't mentioned and unfortunately I really dislike onions. Also, the pork chop tasted amazing but we did notice toward the end that part of it was a bit undercooked. That said, overall the meal was excellent and we had a really great time. Definitely a memorable dining experience in St. Michaels.

When I told him no, he looked at me and said, "You better go! They're closing after this season." Wait...WHAT?! Sure enough, I looked it up later that evening and the rumors were true. After 61 seasons serving seafood on the St. Michaels waterfront, this family-owned landmark is saying goodbye at the end of 2026. Suddenly, eating here wasn't just dinner. It became one last chance to experience a little piece of Eastern Shore history before it's gone forever! I called that afternoon hoping for a reservation. It was the Fourth of July in St. Michaels, after all, and the town was absolutely PACKED. No reservations were available, but the gentleman on the phone kindly told me, "Just come on over. We'll take care of you." Good enough for me! I somehow...SOMEHOW...pulled into one of the very limited front-row parking spaces at The Crab Claw at 4:30pm. On a holiday weekend Saturday. The vacation gods were smiling on me! I wandered out onto the waterfront deck and found plenty of open tables waiting in the shade. Considering it was roughly 105 degrees thanks to the holiday weekend heat wave, shade wasn't a luxury. It was survival. I hadn't done my normal pre-trip menu stalking, which made me wildly uncomfortable because I am apparently the type of person who likes to arrive at restaurants with a five-year dinner plan already prepared. Thankfully, my waitress rescued me! The Fish Tacos of the Day happened to be rockfish, so my decision was made. I ordered the Fish Tacos ($20.95), added a side of Homemade Potato Salad ($5.95), a Diet Pepsi ($4.00)...and then I saw it. SMITH ISLAND CAKE. I've wanted to try authentic Smith Island Cake for YEARS. Not days. Not months. Years. ALOT of them! Every trip to Maryland I'd think, "Maybe this time." And somehow it never happened. Until now! The rockfish tacos were excellent. No unnecessary frills, just generous chunks of perfectly cooked rockfish topped with crunchy purple cabbage, a light spicy sauce underneath and a fresh pico with tomatoes, onions and jalapeños that leaned more toward fresh than soggy. Exactly how I like it! The potato salad was almost neon yellow when it arrived, which immediately gave me high hopes. Those hopes were rewarded! It reminded me a lot of Amish potato salad. Slightly sweet, creamy and absolutely delicious. I ate one taco, a healthy helping of potato salad and happily boxed up the rest for lunch the next day. But let's be honest. The real event was dessert. The slice of Smith Island Cake ($12.95) arrived looking every bit as legendary as I'd imagined. Nine layers of cake. Eleven thin layers of rich chocolate frosting. I took one bite...and immediately started doing the happy food dance. It was EVERYTHING I'd hoped it would be! Every. Single. Bite. While I'm sure The Crab Claw doesn't actually make the Smith Island Cake, they happened to be the one's that allowed me to experience it first, so, they get awarded the points for epicness! Dinner came to $46.48 before tip (about $60 all in after tipping), making it the most expensive dinner of my St. Michaels vacation. Not exactly cheap, but absolutely worth every penny for the food, the memories and the chance to experience a place that's been part of St. Michaels since 1965. The Crab Claw began as a seafood packing operation before becoming the waterfront restaurant generations of visitors have come to love, and you can absolutely feel that history while you're sitting there watching the boats drift by. I'm incredibly grateful that a random conversation on a ferry turned into one of my favorite meals of the trip. Sometimes the best adventures aren't on the itinerary. Sometimes they're recommended by a stranger. Thank you, Crab Claw, for one unforgettable final meal in St. Michaels.
