I have been looking for the right stone for this setting all year. It seemed like everywhere I went…read morejewelers either wanted to sell me a diamond, a full ring, or charge me a triple the cost of the stone finders fee(in the last case I wouldn't even get a real chance to pick the stone, they would) When I talked to Nazreena at Starlanka on the phone they told me to come in and they were sure they would have what I was looking for. They did not disappoint. They had a range of stones to choose from (I was looking for something in more of an aqua or teal color so particularly was looking at alexandrite and spinel). We looked through stones until we found one that I really liked, but unfortunately it didn't look like it would fit properly in the setting. So we picked out a second stone that I liked almost as much and they said they would talk to their setter and if they couldn't make the first work they would use the second. Two days later and they were able to make the first stone work and it looks exactly how I hoped! (the photo washed out a bit of the greens, but all I had was my phone camera) In all, the stone, fixing the setting(it was a family ring and I believe the reason it didn't have a stone was because it had been damaged), and getting the stone set cost me less than some jewelers were saying they would charge to even talk to be about alexandrite. And all this the week before Christmas!
