Friendly, and do really good repairs! Made my old boots look and feel brand new again!

Have you ever heard of Risk Shoes in Sherman, Texas? My husband and I think it is the BEST Shoe Repair Shop we've ever been to and we just recently picked up our shoes from there. His shoes had been taken to another repair shop (a closer one,) where they not only were they late getting them back to us, but didn't do the work he'd asked them to do and they were already falling apart. We decided to look elsewhere and although it's almost a two hour drive (between 1 1/2 and 2,) it was WELL WORTH the drive! As you can see, at Risk's Shoe Shop they half-soled by sewing , not gluing, using real leather in the repair. They also fixed his heels and shined his Florsheim's up, they look great! My boots were pretty old, scuffed up, heel damage and looked like the black was coming off of them in some places, please look at them now. Also, please look at the bottom of my shoe, they look brand new. I don't know ‍ how many years I've had these boots , but they are looking good now. I had another pair of Life Stride's that looked like they needed to go into ICU Shoe Repair. They fixed those too and we were amazed! Had I known they were going to do this good of a job, I would have taken before pictures so you could repair. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a shoe repair company that does QUALITY Repair. They actually told me they had other people send them shoes to repair from out-of-state and I bet they have. read more

This store is AMAZING! They repaired my high heels and added a patch to my daughters letterman jacket. They turned out great. They definitely need to advertise more about all the wonderful things this store does. They have a great selection of boots, shoes, tennis shoes, and sandals. Who knew they added patches to letterman jackets for $6/patch. Brittany, was helpful and knowledgeable in helping me. I would highly recommend this store! read more

You don't stay in business for almost 100 years without being excellent. They are old school and new school in the way they repair boots, shoes or any type of leather for that matter. They care about their customers and over-deliver on their promises. Don't take something you care about anywhere else! read more

Highly recommend using them for any shoe repair!!! I had a pair of tall English riding boots that needed a new zipper. Five other places said they couldn't/wouldn't do them and the ones who said they would said it would take over a month!!I They did it quickly and for a very reasonable price!! Don't go out and buy new boots bring them here first!! read more

I'd like to start off with the word "Customer Service". As a business this is key to success and this place lacks a single ounce of Customer Service. I took my leather vest in to have my Army deployment uniform sewn on the inside so it's always with me when I ride. I even showed them exactly how I wanted it done. They told me no problem it will be done in a week. Here I am 3 weeks later and my wife went in to finally pick it up. They had sewn it backwards where you couldn't even see my uniform and they took it upon themselves to throw my U.S. army patch, Last Name Patch, and my rank in the garbage. They were extremely rude to my wife and ruined my uniform. They had to did in the trash to find all my patches and completely ruined everything. Then they proceeded to charge me the full $108 with no discount for them messing up or any kind of military discount. I DO NOT recommend this place at all for any reason and will let everyone I know that I found a better place to take in there boots, Etc. And on top of everything! They sewed my rank on upside down the second time and when we told them they said "what's done is done and that's it". read more

The Shoe Whisperer! I was in town a couple weeks ago from out-of-state visiting family. I've been battling fasciitis for over two years and they told me I had to go to Risk Shoe store. At that point I had tried everything, so I didn't have high expectations. I went down and met the owner Naif Risk. He was amazing! He fit my shoes like they used to do when people really knew about shoes! He put me in a great pair of sandals with tons of support and great tennis shoes and arch supports. (Note...I came in wearing expensive shoes and arch supports that I thought were really good). He figured out what my feet really needed. And now they feel really good. I walked around NYC in the sandals just a few days later without ANY foot pain. I was amazed. These people know shoes! read more

I dropped a baseball glove off to be relaced and when I picked it up the laces were to tight and to short to loosen and the web lacing was messed up with laces in the wrong places. Would not recommend to anyone for glove relacing. read more

Don't let the name fool you... just the opposite.. it should be called NO Risk Shoe repair! They work miracles on old beat up shoes and don't charge an arm & a leg. I have taken my boots & shoes to them since about 1995 & have always been more than pleased. Would have given 5 stars but last time they said they would call with quote before doing but didn't, but turned out price was more than fair. read more

Make sure you are 100% sure before you leave the store. Bought boots for Christmas (for myself). Tried on and they fit but after checking them at home did not like how it fit. It rubs my ankle. Refused to accept a return after 7 days which was not said at purchase time. read more

I get personalize attention and love that my money stays in a local store and keeps downtown Sherman the quaint town we love, rather than supporting a large dept store! Phenomenal service, each and every time. I've moved around the country four or five times, and Risk Shoe Store is still the only place I trust for new shoes or old ones. I just sent two pairs of shoes to Naif for some badly needed TLC. One needed new soles, and both needed the leather serviced. Naif breathed new life into both pairs, and sent them back to me - all the way to Hawaii! When I'm back in Sherman, I'm going to make a point to visit the historic shop; breathe in the old-school leather smells, check out the classic equipment he uses to do the work right every time, and thank him for his generations-long dedication to excellence. For the last few years i have bought my work boots here. I found a brand that i really liked & have stuck with them. Two weeks ago I went in for a new pair, they were measuring my feet and noticed how flat my feet were. They suggested a high arched shoe. Wow what a difference they have made.
