    Pesto pasta with crushed walnuts
    Matt M.

Tucked inside a historic luxury hotel from the 1920s is this unassuming looking restaurant. Right off of lake Como in the bellagio area the views here are great! When you first glance at the menu you will Notice very affordable prices and a wide menu with options for everyone including kids. As with many places they have an English menu which helps travelers. The wait staff (appeared to be the owners, similar to many other places), also spoke good English and were very helpful. You don't have to be dressed up to come here, although some people were here on romantic dates too. I started with a liter of the house red wine for only 12e. It had a slight effervescent tinge that made it pretty fun. We then moved onto food. I ordered the pesto pasta and it was spectacular. It came topped with crushed walnuts which added a rich nutty and slightly crunchy layer of fun. My wife had the minestrone soup which had a strong basil oregano taste which she described as the best soup she has ever had. Other guests ordered the gnocchi and the fresh lake risotto both of which were amazing. Our only regret is that we were too full from desert.

We saw La Lanterna on our first night thought we have to give it a try while we were here. The next night we walked by and the was a table outside in the stairs. OK, it does not talk much to excite us but this was awesome. Enjoying our meal while watching people walk by and walk by. A lot of people walk by and look et you. So if you are self conscious ask to sit inside. They have a basic menu of pasta and at first we thought, "this will not be enough food." It was plenty and so flavorful. In our four weeks of travel in Italy and Greece, this was my most memorable and tasty meal. No hesitation. Just a cute little restaurant with a great eating experience.

Date of visit: May 27, 2025…read more We had a couple of hours to explore Bellagio and my fellow Yelpers recommended this place and they were right to do so! Just barely beating the rush, we were given a lovely table inside and could enjoy the artsy decor--loved the flat wine bottle art, just wish it wasn't so expensive. 60 euros with the current exchange rate is a bit much especially that I was wary of being able to get it home safely! My mom went with the minestrone and she raved about it the rest of the trip! I dipped some of my bread in it and agree that it was quite good and that's not normally a soup I care for. The rest of us somehow all got lasagna and most of us enjoyed it, though one of the group found it too "creamy." I would agree that I do like a bit more mozzarella on my lasagna, but that could also be an American thing and not "authentic." Really the only negative here was having to go all the way downstairs to pay my bill. The restaurant isn't very big yet it was not the easiest journey and the wait down there was a bit long. Otherwise a great experience!

Lovely restaurant in Bellagio with the cutest outdoor terrace plus delicious food!…read more We had a reservation at this restaurant on a weekday night, and I would definitely recommend getting a reservation if you can since it was quite busy when we were there. We ended up getting seated right at the edge of the vine-covered terrace overlooking the beautiful Salita Serbelloni which just gave such a romantic vibe overall. All of the food we had was phenomenal. We started with the roasted octopus and potato gnocchi, both of which were very tasty with great flavors. The octopus was cooked perfectly, and I also loved the ragu sauce that went with the gnocchi. Then, my fiance and I had their fish of the day which they cook up in front of you, and it was served with seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes. This was absolutely delicious -- the fish was tender and so fresh!

I think partly it was that our general online research offered a lunch menu that was a la carte, but they only had a prefix menu when we were dining there. In the end, I personally feel like this is more 3.5 stars, and what made it just shy of 4 stars was that the prefix menu felt like a cash grab. The dishes themselves were hit or miss (eg the cacio e pepe dish was subpar and the flavor wasn't great) but we had a beef tartare that was pretty good!

Waited 5-10 minutes for available seats and orders served within 15minutes. Lasagna - perfect ratio/balance of al dente pasta and rich meat sauce sauce. I can smell the aroma of baked cheese! Pasta Carbonara in Pistachio sauce - creamy delicious sauce poured over the Al dente pasta. Please have time to check the notes / policy posted in front before ordering. What a beautiful setting and the day was warm and sunny. We each ordered a glass of wine, and then scoured the menu, finally settling on a pasta dish for one, pizza for the other one, and Mr. Bee and I split a pizza. When in Italy one must have as much pizza as you can. Each is different, but never a bad one. I have to say, the pizza was the best we had on the trip. The crust was light and crunchy, but tender. The sauce was simple but incredible. The mushrooms and prosciutto were the icing on the pie. The service was friendly and fast. We absolutely loved our lunch at this little eatery.
