Amazing food and wine. Out of all the restaurants in Cinque Terre this place had the best food.

Amazing place for a romantic dinner night. The view is phenomenal. Definitely make reservations because it could get super busy with tourists.

My family and I had two amazing dinners at Ristorante Roma. The food presentation, meals, and service were exceptional. The resturant ambiance was classy yet relaxing. The service was friendly and helpful. The pasta dishes we had were incredible, probably family recipes pass down through the generations. The standouts for me were the carbonara, seafood linguini, ravioli, and bacon wrapped monk fish. In Los Angeles you would pay twice the price for a meal this good!

Coming from nyc we have had our fair share of great pasta. I think it's actually really hard to top a restaurant like Marea even if you are actually in Italy. That said, the spaghetti with clams here is possibly the best I've ever had anywhere. The flavor profile is very complex. It's a party in your mouth. Stuffed mussels were very good as well. A salmon carpaccio still had bones and was actually cooked to almost a medium which apparently was intended. That wasn't so great. Great service and hostess spoke good English. They are also open all day unlike most restaurants in the area which are closed in the late afternoon and early evening. That means if you have to make a cruise boat boarding but want to sneak a local dinner in this is one of the few places to do it.

Absolutely wonderful meal! Best seafood of my life! Order the Fisherman's Pan! The chef used herbs from her own garden and the seafood was so good! That broth was delicious!

We had the fixed price dinner menu, and it was phenomenal for the price. First came out complementary oyster as a welcome appetizer. The first bite of pork gravy and cranberry was incredible! The pasta and meat courses were on the small side, but dense in flavour. The steak was a bit small, and maybe too well cooked, put the sauce that was on it was phenomenal. All the dishes were beautifully plated. Would definitely go again next time I'm in La Spezia

Excellent dinner this evening for our anniversary. Easy location across from our hotel and wonderful outdoor atmosphere. They surprised us with stuffed oysters, which were quite tasty! Our salmon appetizer was delicious and the red pepper corns added a unique and flavorful touch. The spaghetti with clams and the sea bass were all excellent dishes. Enjoyed an excellent brunello di montalcino wine and finished the wonderful dinner with the chocolate cake (easily shareable as it was a very large dessert).

Our group of 6 did some quick searches and we found Il Pichio rosso was the closest restaurant with good reviews. We were quickly greeted and seated in the small restaurant. This is definitely a locals type place as we were the only tourists there the entire time. They speak very limited english but with our limited Italian we were able to figure each other out. I would categorize this place and mostly pizza/calzones with some pasta dishes. The house red wine was excellent and inexpensive. We started off with bruschetta which was prepared so simply, just flatbread fresh tomatoes and olive oil. Absolutely delicious and a great start. Two of us ordered the calzone, three ordered the spaghetti carbonara and one ordered the veal milanese. The calzones were huge and at 7 Euro a definite bargain. The carbonara was okay for me, but I had better in Rome. It was a little bland and just needed some more saltiness like pancetta or parmigiano-reggiano. I was told the veal was very good but did not try it. For 6 of us the bill was 90 Euro which we all thought was reasonable considering we had 2 liters of wine and beer with our lunch. I would recommend for pizza or calzone but look elsewhere if in the mood for pasta.

Almost certainly the best you'll get in Riomaggiore while eating. There are 10 tables on the rail with a perfect view to the sea. The sad news is that they don't do reservations anymore so planners don't get a leg up on setting a table aside. The service here was sub-par, but the server was very nice. We started with the cheese plate and some moscato. I didn't like a couple of the cheeses but the wine was great. For dinner, I ended up with the classic lasagna and I thought it was just ho hum. I got to try some of my daughter's pesto and that I found to be better than the lasagna.

They also served olives and focaccia bread. I took off a star because the service structure was confusing to us. There was a sign at the table to order at the bar but then when we went to order at the bar we were told to wait for our server. The server only came around occasionally so service was very slow. This was still however a 4 star review because even with slow service, these views at sunset are hard to beat! This was also a convenient location just up the stairs from the train station.

Beef ravioli (€15) - Really really disappointing. It clearly tasted just like frozen ravioli with sauce likely from a can. In fact, I think most frozen ravioli I've gotten from grocery stores tastes better than this. What a shame. Steak (€36 for 260g) - It seemed like steak was this place's specialty, so I was hopefully this could redeem it from the ravioli... but I was wrong. For €36, I would have expected a high quality steak, but instead I got a very mediocre, kinda chewy steak that was of no higher quality than the cuts that I can buy from the grocery store. The owner is American (maybe with Italian heritage), but I still expected better from a place like this with the popularity and reviews that I saw. The interior of the restaurant is cozy without many tables (hence the line to get in). Bottom line is I think you are better off finding a different place to eat in Cinque Terre / Riomaggiore with actual good quality authentic Italian food.

I ordered a burger and beef ravioli ragu, and I have to say, the only reason this restaurant gets any business is because there are only five restaurants open in the area. They DO NOT serve fresh pasta. I asked the owner, who is from New Jersey, if the pasta was made in-house, and she told me it was "outsourced." She said the information was included in the menu but I did not see that. I personally watched the "chef" pour frozen pasta into the pot. To make matters worse, I was expecting pasta with actual meat sauce but was served plain red sauce that seemed like it came from a can. Dining here was a deeply disappointing experience. I would recommend not being fooled by their reviews and just choosing a place that has fresh food. The owner is also extremely cold and rude. There are hidden charges so beware. Make sure to ask about the food you are ordering and any hidden fees if you do choose to dine here.
