When I started questioning why I was put on the dosage I was, all my records were gone from the online portal and I was sent a letter dismissing me from her care. She's arrogant, cold, rude & I was flat out lied to. I am very lucky and grateful to have found wonderful doctors that care and are straightening things out that should have never been messed up to begin with. Please be careful if you choose this woman as your doctor and please question things.

My appointment was scheduled for 9:00 AM, and I left home more than 40 minutes in advance. Due to unexpected traffic, I noticed around 8:45 AM that my GPS estimated my arrival at 9:18 AM. Wanting to be respectful of their time, I immediately called the office to notify them. No one answered, so I left a voicemail. A few minutes later, someone returned my call and informed me there was a 15-minute grace period. I explained that my arrival time showed 9:18 AM and asked if they could please notify the doctor, since I urgently needed this appointment. I have surgery scheduled in less than two weeks and was seeking a second opinion. I had already completed pre-op check-in and submitted all required paperwork, so I was fully prepared for the visit. Instead of showing any empathy or flexibility, the staff member repeatedly refused to notify the doctor and insisted I call back at 9:15 AM. When I called again, I was told that if I arrived after 9:15 AM, I would need to reschedule. This was incredibly frustrating, considering I was only projected to be only 3 minutes beyond the grace period. I still came, arriving at 9:18 AM, only to be turned away. The front desk attendant told me the nurse had specifically come to the front and instructed them not to let me back. What made this even worse was that the next available appointment was after my scheduled surgery, making the visit impossible to reschedule in time. Based on how dismissive and uncompassionate I was treated throughout the entire interaction, I believe I was treated this way because I am African American while Dr. Elliott and the staff are Caucasian. Whether intentional or not, the experience left me feeling discriminated against and devalued as a patient. Patients deserve fairness, professionalism, understanding, and care--not cold, rigid treatment that leaves them feeling singled out and unheard.

I also tend to go for the early morning appointments to minimize waiting, because - let's be real here - babies don't usually schedule their births, so chances are you'll have to wait a time or two, and that chance increases as the day goes on. I met Dr. Anthony a few times while pregnant with my daughter and she seemed really nice. I didn't get a chance to get to know her, but her energy was calming and I liked that a lot. I am writing this review based on my comparable experience after switching to another provider around 36 weeks, so that expectant parents know what to expect. 1. Be prepared for wait times that can be seriously frustrating. Regardless of the day, time, or which doctor I saw, the wait was consistently over an hour, sometimes even pushing 2 hours for the entire visit. The actual time with the OB-GYN was barely 5 minutes. I understand obgyns are busy, but it's about time they improved their time management or focused more on their existing patients rather than taking on more new ones. I have been dreading their wait times, which often leads to missing work and uncomfortable hours in a chair, causing back pain, which is not fun in the third trimester. On top of this, nobody in this practice, including doctors, has acknowledged or been apologetic even once for their ridiculously long wait times. 2. Appointments with Dr. Anthony always seem rushed, like she's in a race to see all the patients. She sometimes comes across as rude/dismissive and doesn't really give enough time to address my concerns. The OB is usually in and out within 3-5 minutes. I saw Dr. Chua only once and do not have much experience to comment on my experience with her. 3. There is no online scheduling or a proper messaging system/nurse line here to reach for emergency. The lab and test results are all handled through a call, and there is no way to view the results unless you request a printout on the visit. It's a very old-school system, and most of the time, the front desk staff doesn't have a clue about how things work. I once asked if there was a nurse line or an after-hours support, and to my surprise, the front desk said there was nothing like that. Much later when I asked again, Dr. Chua confirmed there is an on-call number to reach the obgyn directly. In another instance, I called the front desk to reach the doctor's assistant when I was having a terrible sinus issue while 6 months pregnant, to get some pregnancy-safe medication recommendations, only to be cut down by the front desk in a rude way, mentioning "we don't treat sinus." 4. Brace yourself for a bit of a headache. They want the patients to prepay for the entire labor out-of-pocket costs around the 28-week mark. It's a real hassle, especially if you end up having to deal with refunds post-birth because your deductible is reached before delivery. While I understand this is a norm in some clinics, I expected they should talk about it in the first appointment. I didn't come across this with my previous pregnancy provider, so this got me surprised. Now that I have transferred, I am still waiting for the refund of the money they charged me for labor already. I am glad I switched from here for an overall positive and hassle-free experience with another provider while receiving good care. I would not recommend this place to any mothers who value time, customer service, and birth empowerment.
