The Lakeway 7-Eleven is one of those stores. It is owned by a kindly family man who has put a huge effort into make this as "local" as it can get. He serves our neighborhood proudly, and he and his staff always greet us with a smile. My kids have been regulars here for YEARS (hello, Slurpees anyone?) and they are treated like family. If one twin shows up without the other he's always asked, "Hey, where's your brother?" It's like the little mom-n-pop shop of years-gone-by, just with a 7-Eleven sign in front.
