It opens early at 6 am, so it's a good place to shop if you are an early bird. The place is well maintained and has a good selection of produce and products. You can find See's candies here as well as Beecher's cheese frozen meals. Not the actual cheese though. At least I didn't see it when I was there. The prices are fair though if you are price conscious, just check online on the prices at the other stores you usually shop at. I am not sure if they do price matching here, but it will definitely be a bonus and make shopping a breeze. Plenty of parking spots in the lot out front. read more

I always hit the Haggen in Fairhaven for my deli and bakery treats. I love the cinnamon rolls, cookies, and the berry pies. Parking is always easy unless I go during noon lunch rush. This Haggen always has a very nice display of cheeses, they know my weakness. The service in the deli is usually exceptional, even when they are busy. I appreciate that they still have a full service deli and bakery. My only complaint about this Haggen is a woman who works in the bakery who is consistently rather abrasive, maybe they should put her in the back and have someone a little more pleasant working with the public. She certainly does not like her job, while everyone else is all smiles. I think I'll hop in my car and go grab some cheese and crackers right now! Haggen - Best sandwich from a grocery store - Grocery Near Me - Bellingham, Washington

This pharmacy often seems to have no knowledge of prescriptions that have been called in. On multiple occasions, my wife's doctor has called in a prescription for her that, when I've asked pharmacy staff in person about, they've denied receiving. My wife & I have figured out that we need to ask whether they've checked their voice mail recently. However, when I did this on April 7, 2022, after the person at the counter couldn't find the prescription, that person apparently asked the pharmacist if the messages had been checked. Allegedly, they had been and there was no prescription. However, after I sat down in the pharmacy to text details to my wife, another staff member called out to me to say that there was, in fact, a prescription. Then on April 18, 2022, I visited the pharmacy to get a prescription filled that the doctor had called in the night before. I stated this fact at least twice to the person at the counter, who seemed to be looking through the computer for evidence and asked me what the prescription was for. I named the drug, and was told that the prescription would be filled in about 30 minutes. I said that I would come back. I came back about an hour later, and found that the prescription was not ready. I was told that insurance would not pay for it until two more days had elapsed. I said that I would pay cash, and then waited for the prescription to be filled. Later that night, my wife noted that I had brought home a refill for a previous prescription, not the new one from 4/17. So, I went back to the pharmacy on 4/19. I was told that there was no new prescription after I stressed that I was talking about a prescription from 4/17. I asked if the voice mail had been checked, but there were apparently no messages waiting. (I assume the messages from 4/17 had been deleted.) So I sat and waited while the doctor called again and the new prescription was filled. To add to the most recent hassle, the erroneous refill that I paid cash for was incomplete. The pharmacy didn't have the supplies to fill it completely. I paid for the full refill, but don't have the complete set of pills yet. While going over the mistake of the refill with a staff member on 4/19, the person helping me noted that my paper receipt had a timestamp that's an hour different from what's in their computer. Also, my receipt shows that I paid cash, but their computer says that insurance paid most of the cost. When I left today, the staff were apparently trying to figure out whether to complete the refill after they receive the stock or give me a refund. read more

I have had one of the worse experiences in a pharmacy I've ever had. There is one redheaded pharmacist who seems to get a kick out of not ordering my medication when my refill is do and I have ad to repeatedly waited up to 2 days for them to order it even though I get it here every month. This is a medication I'm not supposed to stop. No apology, not evena smile-- straight-up rude could give a dam* attitude. Then I go to get another script today for my thyroid medication and they say it's in Ferndale. I call Ferndale and they said Fairhaven just called them and had it transferred to them. 4 hours later I come in to pick it up and they tell me they don't have it! read more

On the downside it's a wee bit pricy for me but my daughter assures me that all the stores in Washington are more expensive than where I am from. Haggen, the name is false advertising, once a very good grocery now a less than mediocre generic Safeway. The name should be changed . The quality of deli, meats, fish and produce are stale, poorly prepared, inedible. Our community has lost a once great grocery. Corporate processed so called food has filled the shelves . Dismal. I shopped at Wholefoods the other day and was astounded that even they, of all places, were more affordable as well as much better quality. As far back as Thriftway and The Red apple this location has been a bonus to Southside and community , it is now a store to be avoided. read more

I am not a big fan of shopping at Haggens. Well maybe its the prices and the option. I would prefer Freddie. I don't find the prices here being that great. But I do notice that Haggen is very quiet and not a lot of people here. This is not the only Haggen that is like this. They have a lot of organic produce, dairy and canned food. But for some reason if I were to get organic stuff, I would go to Trader Joe. Lots of parking out front. read more

I really love the store! After moving up here, there is not much of selection from when one moves from a big city. When one wants to cook in a gourmet style, one really needs good ingredients to start with. I was having a difficult time until I found this amazing chain. They have all the hard to find items in almost every category. From east Indian to a bakery that sells some pretty amazing items. It's very hard to walk by and not grab some kind of snack, (So evil of them to make it look that good!) Then there is the Deli. Its items are quite one of a kind, from the Asian noodle Thai salad to the golden potato salad, and everything in between. They really have mastered the chef level taste on too many dishes. Their Reuben sandwich is really up there for a chain store deli. I had no idea they have them on sale, selling on selected cold days for their customers to just pick up, ( are you sitting down now!) the price of $3.99, hot and ready to eat. That is like the 4th of July at Christmas! Does it get any better than that? Tell me where you can find any Reuben for that prince all made up when you walk in the store. "Score!" Let's not forget the Wednesday Sushi night! You can binge out on sushi rolls for under $20 and get pretty stuffed. The quality is right up there with many top restaurants. Kind of hard to do that in Bham. Here, you walk away thinking, (Did I just get a spider roll and a couple others for under $20?? Really!) You should know, you must understand, this all costs money! They are noticeably a bit more pricey than the other stores. Once you get used to the royal treatment, the extra costs just feel right in line with the final experience and Top Notch quality of, yes, ...come-on.... say it, Everything! read more

Customer service is always great, place is clean, but the prices are absolutely outrageous. Basic canned food is 3+ dollars... everything is about twice what it would be at a normal store. I've been shopping here because it's much closer than all other grocery stores, but with continued inflation combined with this stores already outrageous prices, and after having much more reasonable grocery bills elsewhere, I don't plan to continue buying my groceries here. read more

When this store was owned by the Haggen Family, it was great! Now it's owned by Albertson's and its mediocre. They had the smarts to keep the look and feel but the customer service is lacking. Don Haggen always expected the best in everything. Today I got a sandwich which when I got a chance to eat it, had no mayo or condiments on the bread or in the packaging. All I could eat was the cheese, because it was dry. I called thinking that they would tell me to bring it to show them and then get me a new one or make me a fresh one. The kid in the deli was conferring with his manager. He seemed happy to tell me that it was my tough luck and there was nothing they could do. Little power trip for him right there, right? He said that condiments should have been in the packaging, which they were not. Nothing they could do he said. I say bunk, you just lost two customers. People if your employees don't have customer service skills, TEACH THEM! That is what is wrong with the world, no respect for other humans. The collective seems to love animals more. No matter what time I go into the store, you never seem to have enough checkers. There's always an extended wait. It's frustrating to have only two or three items and then have to wait for three or four people ahead of you in line. I've noticed this worsening over the past couple of months. read more

Please don't use this pharmacy they tried to switch my insulin from humalog to novalog without a prescription change from my doctor. Told me novalog is generic but it isn't. When I tried to switch pharmacies they refused to send any of my prescriptions to a new pharmacy. Also they put for several months that I paid cash for my prescriptions I have apple health everything is fully covered never paid cash or any kind of co pay but they had put in the records for several months that I paid cash effectively ending my insurance paying for my medication that I literally need to live. After hours in the phone with insurance it got sorted out. This Haggen pharmacy put that I paid cash and also charged the insurance so I can only assume they pocketed the money. They did this for several months without me knowing. Who knows how many other people they have don't this too. We are taking about thousands of dollars. Why, it's just the definition of charming! This branch of the cool little local chain set in northern WA, has a great selection of goods, a tasty if not particularly healthy deli section and just enough touch of artisanal appreciation to set it apart from the Safeways of the world. They're located in the heart of picaresque Fairhaven. I spent a pleasant lunch break listening to a group of elderly ladies discussing local trains, bridges and other civil engineering concerns, before heading to work, munching on decent fried chicken and an equally decent onion roll for under $6. 1-17-17 At Haggens early this am. No price on yellow squash. Asked older blond woman; sour response: usually the same price as green zucchini $1.99. Young kid came up - asked for a yellow squash price. He left to ask price. Older blond woman working next to yellow squash sour, poor attitude, poor facial expression: left & offered no assistance. Kid came back & went to work in fruit again. Asked him if he found price, since there was still no price posted. He said $2.49/lb. Sour blond older woman came back, working next to yellow squash. Neither posted price; no customer service, poor customer treatment. Left and went to Fred Meyer, did my shopping $169.81. Continuing poor customer service and attitudes by long time Haggen's employees. Either retrain them or suggest they would be happier working elsewhere. read more
