We chose to go here last night to pick up post surgery meds for my husband. We had hoped going to this location, there would be less traffic and less crowds than the alternative and it was. The silver lining was the kind staff who work here! Overall, we have had better experiences with Rite Aid than other chain pharmacies in this area. This experience was so positive, we are considering moving our other pharmacy needs to this location. I was tempted to remove a star on this review as my husband's prescription could NOT be dispensed immediately as the pharmacist was on a break (short staff at this location). That was a bit alarming at first but my husband's pain was controlled well at that point and the wait was definitely on the shorter side of the range I was given. The staff sent me a text message when the prescription was ready. While I waited, I found several other items that my husband had requested. Those areas of the store were nicely stocked (no empty shelves here!) I had a $10 off coupon which I used (with purchase of $40 or more) very nice! read more

This is a brand new, meticulously maintained Rite Aid. I had to pick up a prescription on the way back to celebrating my son's birthday in Canada and while the pharmacy near the urgent care clinic was out of the med, they had it in stock. The pharmacist assistant (I wish I had asked her name) was incredible! She perfectly pronounced my difficult to legal Indian name and was able to coordinate with the other pharmacy who couldn't fill it and get it done quickly so I could be on my way! read more

The pharmacy is a joke. Good luck trying to get your script in 15 mins. They've had my script all day and I had to call to see when it's going to be ready and they say an hour. I get a text to go get it and oops it's not ready when I get there. Then why send a text? The male pharmacist is rude. (1) The people who work there should speak English (as a first language) . At the drive thru with outside noise and the employee wearing a mask (at the drive thru???) adding us old folk who are at the drive thru because it is too hard to walk inside and to the back of the store and who may have hearing difficulty makes the drive thru just about useless. No matter what they say, I keep nodding "yes" I have NO IDEA what they are saying! Of course that could easily lead to errors. Also, they are always understaffed...Not making enough profits on pharmaceuticles? Why does every employee in every Rite Aid go to lunch from 130pm to 2PM? Customer Service Rules, Rite Aid! Fix this! Even outside of lunch time hours, the line is always long at the drive thru and only one lane open. This is the worst pharmacy that I have ever used. Worthless. I was set up for text notifications when my RX was completed. Never received message. Went 2 weeks without medication when they had it the entire time. Slow drive thru waited 15 mins for help this morning. Hours are hit and miss in the drive thru and staffing is always short. Only one person actually knows English. Moved all my medications to Fairway in Lynden. I hope they all go under. Just because it's the only pharmacy in Blaine doesn't mean you can treat your customers poorly. read more

I had the absolute worst experience at this pharmacy recently. My prescription is a total of three generic common medications. Last Friday morning, I submitted the script to the pharmacy.They informed me it would be ready for pick up in 3 hours.I told them I would return the next day and they said it would be ready then. The following day I waited in line for 15 minutes and was told the script was still not ready. I returned there today as the only customer at the pharmacy ,where three employees were working.I was told they needed "to count" the medication and it would be a just few minutes. After waiting another half hour, the person that was to complete my order just disappeared.Another employee took over and finally I was able to get my prescription. There we're no apologies .The pharmacy staff could not care less.... It was a great experience for a retired, disabled person! The minor inconvenience of driving to Walgreens in Bellingham is a much better option than dealing with this inconsiderate pharmacy. read more

Pharmacy Specific - Never in my 40 years of life have I experienced such blatant disregard for my medical wellbeing than by this pharmacy. Coming in with a prescription from urgent care that if not filled would lead to a life threatening event I was denied for an unclear reason other than repeatedly saying "not valid". After having the urgent care facility resend the prescription hours later the pharmacy said it still had not been received. I then reached out and had my primary care send the same prescription as I had already been 24 hours without the dose and risked needing to go to the ER. When I called on my lunch break trying to scramble in before they closed for their lunch, they said it would not be ready until late that afternoon. When I asked why they said there is a 30 minute wait time for refills (it had been sent in hours prior), there were already others before me needing refills, and that they close for lunch. Now making my period without this medication nearing 48 hours. When explaining the severity they were rude and uncaring. The people working here are truly in the wrong field. I will NEVER go here again and would not recommend them for anything important. read more

This is a typical Rite Aid and a fairly newly-built store. I have never used The pharmacy here and going by other reviews here I'm glad I haven't. I tried using the photo kiosk to print some images from my phone but it didn't have the right USB C adapter or didn't support wireless or Bluetooth so I couldn't even use it at all. They have a tiny Hardware section for items one might need to use on the car and an expanded convenience store type selection of food and snacks. It does happen to be a handy location for cross-border travel when one needs a last-minute item and saves a trip to the bigger stores. read more

Why is it that -- the day after the event I experienced at Blaine's Rite-Aid -- I could walk into another pharmacy, fill out a 1- page form, show my vaccination card and photo ID along with my Medicare card and minutes later receive a Moderna booster? And yet, I made two trips to Blaine Rite-Aid and spent half an hour online to receive a booster shot and I never got one. Why does Blaine Rite-Aid, on the border with CANADA, offer no PCR tests to a community that has close ties with CANADA, tests that are in fact REQUIRED to enter CANADA. Why is that? I've had a horrible experience with this pharmacy the whole four years I've been using it. I would say that up till recently I could tolerate it because I did not find driving out of town convenient just to pick up my two prescriptions. This last instance has been my last straw though. It's been a slow build up of frustratingly having to call and remind them to fill my prescriptions regularly despite requesting them to be automatic, and them claiming I need to provide insurance despite having done so twice, to stating they will submit a request to my doctor for a refill, and finding out later no request was given. This week though they claimed that I had picked up an important prescription that I never had, and I had records to show for it...but that does not matter to them because they went ahead and got my insurance to get charged twice after I told them to forget it because I was going to figure it out elsewhere. I've decided now that the convenience of proximity is less convenient than that of consistent customer service, care, and organization. I have now gone on to Ferndale and will never be returning. I've never been one to be so critical of others in service but good grief they're a mess here! The only thing consistent with the pharmacy technicians there is a combination of confusion, rudeness, and severe disorganisation. It's a shame that the pharmacy techs are taking business away from the pharmacists and retail - but my word of advice if you're looking to have prescriptions filled? Just compare pharmacy reviews and you'll see that it's best to go elsewhere...and by elsewhere I mean anywhere at all but here. EDIT (three days later): my new pharmacy has contacted them three times now requesting them to transfer the information and prescriptions over, and they still have not. I walked into this beautiful store for the 1st time today. I was a little apprehensive as I needed some clarification on availability of J&J covid vaccine. Prior to getting to the store I found out how confusing it can be to get a appointment. I found out from WHSA that this specific store had that vaccine available. I know that you need to go online to schedule an appointment but it seems that Riteaid.com doesn't recognize this store. I went to the Pharmacy and spoke to Salma and the Pharmacist. Both of this employees treated me with the utmost respect. I felt so comfortable explaining why I was there. Of course they don't have any of this specific vaccine left but Salma added my name to the waiting list. I am a fairly knowledgeable 79 year old and found out how confusing this is. Horrible service. Most of my career is managing customer care. I have seen lots of companies and the levels of service they provide. Yesterday i called in a refill.. I followed up after the time it was going to be ready. I called and got the pharmacist and was told he was filling it right now. Today I go in waiting in a long line of people that have been frustrated like myself. Finally I get my turn and find out it hasn't been filled and the Pharmacist is busy for about 20 minutes. Hands down the worst store in the Country! No service, no HELP, and no one cares. I been living hear for for 15 years and get my scripts fill hear as they are the only ones in Town. I can go in the store and the only thing they stay stock up on is Booze's. If you call and want to ask a question it will take 15 minutes to talk to someone and you get a well I think we have it? This pharmacy is terrible. The wait is absolutely stupid. Sitting in drive thru is a half hour wait easy. Go inside, the wait half hour easy. The wait is usually longer. Do not bother to refill even if it is auto. When I call I am told it is in the que. For three days while I am out of medication? The wait and lack of staffing is why I just transfered my medication. This is the standard Rite Aid you need when looking to buy a few things and save a few dollars. Namely, on the "girl" stuff. The seasonal merchandise is not necessarily a deal--even when on sale--and either are any of their cereals or dry goods, but would you expect them to be at a drugstore, I mean really? You can use your points card and i think you get a discount from it, but whether you collect points a la Shoppers I'm not exactly sure. So, why the 4 stars? While I missed the opp. to buy wine as I'm never too lucky when crossing just for gas, my brave friend scored a pretty good $4.50 bottle of Pinot Grigio. Compare that to the $15 bottle of J Pinot Gris (because is there any other initial, really?) that I purchased at Cost Cutter next door on my last trip; we found quite the deal! Considering that her bottle tasted almost as good, this is the smarter place to buy it. Sure, the selection isn't great, but when I compared what they did carry, I noticed the same bottles were at least $3 cheaper here. Sometimes there's a bit of a line, but it's spotless, and judging by the overflowing garbage outside, this is the place to stop when you want more than just gas. So save your incidental purchases for Rite Aid rather than buying your "treats" at the Chevron, and you will gain a few dollars at the end of the day. And if you encounter a nice border guy and you've already made the trek across to begin with, every small savings does make a difference. Then you can spend your hard earned $ on treats and magazines, just like you did in high school. read more

This place was our go to pharmacy when it was in the cost cutter shopping plaza. Since the new location opened, customer service has gone rite in the toilet. On at least two occasions we have called to make sure our prescriptions were ready only to have them not be ready and have to wait in excess of 15 minutes for them to be ready. These prescriptions were called in by doctors HOURS ahead of time. They make no effort to tell you what is going on or how long you will be waiting. You just stand there like an idiot until they choose to address you again. I should have gotten her name, but there is also a middle aged white woman who has the most horrible attitude and honestly couldn't care less about anything going on around her. I don't know how she has remained employed but obviously no one there cares about her because she has been there with her crappy attitude almost every time I have used their pharmacy in the new location. I was thinking about switching to the Lynden location but think I'll just give my money to Safeway pharmacy instead. Never going back unless it's just for a pack of gum up front or something. Check your receipts and your bags when you leave the store. My husband and I have both been shorted items several times, once at the pharmacy and several times at the front counter. It seems to happen most often with candy and cosmetics. Do the cashiers get to keep the things they "forget" to bag that people don't come back for? The pharmacists are great and very professional, although other store employees and techs vary widely. read more

I've been using this pharmacy for 16 years. They serve the entire unincorporated area of northern Whatcom county, Blaine, Birch Bay and BC (non pharmaceutical items). They are busy, extremely well educated, experienced, excellent counselors. NOT ONCE have I been treated badly. What comes to mind is customers don't realize the time it takes to safely dispense medications. It's a huge responsibility; think about it. The pharmacists are excellent educators about drugs, interaction, etc. I rely on them heavily. Perhaps YOU should plan ahead. read more

Worst pharmacy ever. Every time I go to get a prescription, it's a problem. Even though they have my Medicare information on file, they always say they need a copy of it when I go in order to get my doctors approval for anything. Prescriptions are not ready even though they've been called in at least three hours ahead of time, very frustrating because I either have to wait half an hour do you have them fill which I do not want to do, or drive back the next day. I get my entire prescription drugs at Rite Aid. They are always fast and keep the customer in mind when they don't have a lot of time. The other thing I like about this store is that is it just a tab bit cheaper to shop for certain brands at this store that Cost Cutter. For example, I can get a 2 pound bag of M & M's for just above $6. Pop is cheaper to, but not all of their brands are cheaper. The toilet paper is pretty high. It is a nice clean store and the staff is very friendly. read more

Rite Aid offers vaccine shots for customers, but I found service well below other facilities. I went for a shingles vaccine, they seemed quite disorganized and I had to wait an hour before getting the shot. The young lady who administer the shot was very professional and friendly, the process time though - quite excessive for a quiet time on a weekday. read more

The pharmacy at the Blaine Washington location has twice made a large mistake in pricing medication I was prescribed and wanted to purchase. The first occasion I questioned the bill and was kept waiting over an hour till the pharmasist could readjust the bill and the second occasion they refused to readjust and I left without my prescription refill. I did contact other rite aids in Washington state and none of them could understand how the mistake of a $900.00 difference was made.
