I would vote zero stars if it were an option. A Rite Aid employee stole half my opioid pain medication. I had a prescription for 30 hydrocodone opioid pain medication pills. The container label stated that there were 30 pills in the container. I did not count the pills at Rite Aid when I picked up the prescription. When I got home I saw there were only 15 pills in the container. No way it could have been an honest mistake. A Rite Aid employee stole my pain medication. Pharmacies ain't what they used to be, nor is this Rite Aid. What is it with a pharmacy that has no concern for client confidentiality or HIPAA Fed and State mandates? Their inside service window is broken (I can't describe what it is or how it's damaged, but this amounts to having to shout my name, medications for pick-up, and birthdate for everyone in the vicinity to hear. It then amounts to back and forth from a broken window to a window for payment and pick-up). This will not be fixed for months - if at all. This caps a horrible pharm tech who refuses/refused to help people when she didn't feel like it. She'll leave you feeling insane because she's rude with a friendly smile and quiet, passive agressive demeanor. I was told that I was irresponsible for not knowing the whereabouts of my primary provider, who works in three different sites, and because of this, she'd make no efforts to request my refill. How is this legal or ethical? It's not. I was told, after stating that I've gone into dark clinical depression/suicidality in the past without this med, that I was "threatening" and thus I was blasted and treated horribly. Outrageous. When I finally spoke with a supervisor personally, he scoffed at me for asking for the Pharmacist who's a friend and always cordial. "He's not a supervisor." Arrogant. He gave me a short-term refill and informed me I'd still be in trouble. Well I am. I've had to ration a dose that my primary provider had approved more than enough of. And I can't find a decent pharmacy to refill my life sustaining medication without anger, blame, arrogance, and violating my privacy. Absolutely the worst Rite Aid that has ever existed! I completely understand when you are short staffed things get hard and you do have to rearrange schedules and times of operation. I had ordered a very important prescription almost 4 weeks ago. Have not heard anything, I eventually had to call my doctor for the nurse to call the pharmacy for her to re-order my prescriptions and still have not received the one I really need. We are going on five weeks. Had a doctor prescribe the medication a week ago still nothing been trying to call no one ever answered. Tried to call the main store still no answer what is wrong with the store it is time for corporate to get involved. If you guys can't handle the business, maybe it's time to shut it down. In a perfect world a pharmacy should be squeaky clean, if only for the Germophobia crowds not to fret, but this place seems resigned to a path of substandard maintenance. This lady I know, and value, gets her medication from this location (not that the other location fares better with more stars ), and since waiting times can stretch out her going to the restroom always shakes her composure just a little bit. I know people working here are polite and nice, but lacking the skills to pay the bill on the cleaning duties. Using the Rite Aid App I refilled a prescription. I later received a message stating that I can save time by pre-paying and then just walk up and give my name and date of birth. I called beforehand and confirmed that this process works at this location. I printed proof that my prescription was ready and paid for. I did as instructed and Judy argued with me, stating, There is nothing on this paper that says it's paid for. I had already given her my name and date of birth, plus I gave her my drivers license. She continued to argue with me so I reminded her that it was HER company's app I used and that if it did not go through, just charge my card that I tried handing her. She asked me again for my date of birth. I restated it and again showed her my drivers license for the second time which again, she was not interested in looking at. She entered my date of birth and said, it's here and it looks like it was prepaid. ‍ As I was signing to get my medication I noticed that the typical 1-5 star customer service rating survey disappeared... I ask her about it and she told me I could fill one out online from my receipt code. I took my medication and left. I will never go back to Rite Aid Pharmacy. I am a decent human being and I maintained my composure throughout this very tense and unpleasant experience but instead, I was treated rudely and like just another number interrupting her day. Life is too short to waste it dealing with unnecessary toxic people. After multiple times of my daughter's medicine only being partly filled IF AT ALL. I've finally had it! Waiting 45 minutes for a prescription that was supposed to be filled after not having it done 2 days ago was ridiculous. On top of the fact tat they weren't even thinking of calling me up. I HAD TO WAIT IN LINE. To be told my order was indeed ready and had been. Not 1 part of any of my interactions at this pharmacy were kind. Or comforting. I know it is largely irrelevant, but I have been a monthly customer since 2012 and am a platinum member but I have been considering switching to another business for a while due to the level of service I have been receiving. I want to note that I am an easy going person and have never lodged a complaint anywhere before, that's how bad it is. The pharmacy used (2012-2017) to be great, prompt and caring about customer service. These days (2017-2019) it couldn't be more opposite. The pharmacists know me and are nice but the attitude of the techs is honestly shocking. I am made to feel like a frustrating inconvenience whenever I have a question or issue. I am going to detail my most recent experience but this is an apt representation of every conversation I've had. On Thursday of last week, I called to fill a prescription. The person on the phone said "we don't have it." I said "ok...can you get it?". she sighed audibly and put me on hold without saying anything for a good while. She picked up and said "We're ordering it soon". I asked when it would be in and was told "I don't know, I would have to ask the pharmacist". So I say, "...well could you please ask him?" once again she put me on hold without telling me. Finally she picked up and just said "Tuesday" and then hung up! Yesterday I called to confirm they were getting it in today and was told "I don't know. Call tomorrow." Today, just minutes ago, I called again. My phone log shows that the call was 11 minutes and 47 seconds but I spoke to an employee for less than 30 seconds of that time. I was calling to confirm that they were getting my medication in today and wanted to know if they could fill it right away since I had gone without it for 4 days. I was put on hold. Finally, someone else picked up and I explained again what I was asking. She said, "We don't deal with that until 2. Call back then". I started to ask another question and she hung up on me mid-sentence!!! I'm honestly sick of being treated like this. The pharmacists know me and are nice but it seems the techs couldn't care less. I am always careful to be nice and polite on the phone with them, but they don't care. It feels like sometimes they say whatever they can to get me off the phone, because I find out later the information isn't true. Managing an illness with monthly medications is stressful and I have to go through this multiple times a month as well. read more

I wish I could give this pharmacy 0 STARS. I've had so many problems & today I had to take back a prescription that my boyfriend was charged $60 for something that was suppose to be less than $10. I found out that they made a 2nd profile in their system for me that said I didn't have insurance. When I went back, they said I needed a receipt or else they can't do anything about it, but then I found out later from a friend who is a pharmacy tech at home, that they can just print one out from the computer by pressing a simple "REPRINT" option. Horrible experience with the pharmacy! I have been displaced due to the campfire in Paradise. My Dr called in my prescription on Saturday. Went to pick it up Sunday, they said it's not ready. I transferred all my prescriptions over after the CVS over by PV High school aggravated me with their pharmacy's customer service. This is BY FAR the worst pharmacy I think to ever exist in California. How the hell do they manage to not have my prescription WITHOUT FAIL every damn time. Some back story: I have strep, an ear infection, scarlet fever & I went to the doctors at 11:00am this morning. So I have purchased beer and some other odds and ends in the past. However I went in one day to buy a 12 pack and the dude asked for my ID Im 50 and have grey, and the guy never asked before. Went in another time and I watched as a 40+ mexican man went to the counter with his 12 pack of bud, the cashier asked his birth date the guy mumbled something and was sold the beer. I then tried to buy beer and the dude demanded my card. When I pointed out that the mexican wasn't asked for HIS ID, and that this is discrimination I was told to leave the store. Fast forward to last week when I decided to pick up my prescription. I was on my bike and there were NO BIKE RACKS in front of the store, just a bunch of beggars and homeless. So I looked at the notices in the window for a no bikes allowed in store sign. There wasn't any. So I strolled in with my pro road bike straight down to the back of the store where the pharmacy is. I was TEN feet away from the desk when an employee told me bikes were not allowed. I explained there was no bike racks or notice and that other stores including the one 2 doors down allows bikes. She told me to use that stores bike racks and repeated that I need to get the bike out of the store. So I asked if it would be alright to get my prescription first, since I was already right there, and there was nobody waiting. She stood and stared at me for a while, and said I needed to get the bike out of the store. I said ok, ill do it right after I get my medication. So on my way out the manager tells me, no bikes and to get my bike out of the store, since the brat squealed on me. I said "I know thats what im doing" So instead of leaving it at that the little Hitler yells that if I do it again they will call the cops. I was discriminated against because I am a LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZEN and I ride a bike. edit-Looking at their website just now, they state "Bike Parking Yes" but that's a lie. There are NO racks of any kind and not even a pole or tree nearby. So unless you're ok with leaving an expensive bike on the curb with some homeless people, Id pass on this store, its power mad employees and manager. read more

I went to this rite aid to get some basic things for the week, first thing i noticed when i walked in was how bad it smelt, don't wanna use any nasty words but it smelled like piss. As i continued shopping most of the shelves weren't stocked the right way, the prices were on the wrong items and such and when i asked a worker where certain items were they would reply with "i don't know sorry". but the kicker was one of the workers made a very rude comment to me about my pride bracelet, they said "oh you're one of those ugh" and then continued to ring my products up rudely, never said another word, didn't ask for my number for rewards or even said have a good day, i also think they overcharged me on purpose but i was so distraught i didn't notice until i got back home. i will not be going back to this rite aid, the bathrooms were also atrocious (most likely where the piss smell was coming from) and there were poop stains in the toilet and smeared on the walls, if you have to go avoid the bathrooms at all costs. read more

Terrible customer service and overpriced, too! I went in there to buy a bottle of Souza Tequila. I'm 25 years old and have a valid California ID. The young woman, who is about my age as well, held my ID up to the light and spent a good two minutes examining it as if it were a fake. Really?! It is even one of those new California IDs that is more tamper proof. Anywho, my sister, who turned 21 a week ago, was with me. She asked to see her ID as well, and then said, "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I can't sell this to you!" Uhm, WHAT? Turns out, my sister had applied for a new license because her photo made her look younger, so the DMV had put a hole-punch through her expiration date. She had her license on her, with the temporary one that was provided by the DMV, but because she was with me, and I was 25, she was unable to sell it to me because of the mere suspicion that I may furnish this alcohol to someone who is not of age. Biggest crock of bullshit I have ever heard of! I asked the clerk, "So if I come back without her, I can buy it?" and she goes, "I'd say no!" Ok fine, we'll go elsewhere - and we did - and got the same bottle for 75 cents more, without a problem. Funny thing is, my sister is not even drinking any of it, as it was meant for my friends and I, who are all 24 and older. Can someone call out "age discrimination"?! If my sister had looked as though she was 40, I am sure her having a CA ID with a hole punch on the expiration date would not have been an issue. The clerk also made up some story saying, "Well, this store in particular has been sued in the past!" Yeah, how about we file another lawsuit for age discrimination?! F*ck Rite Aid! read more

My prescription was called in the day before and when I came in the following evening they told me I had to wait 20 minutes. 30 minutes later after watching people who came in after me walk out of the store with their prescriptions I asked if mine was ready, and was told "we've just been really busy today". I told them that that was great except I am also a paying customer and it would be nice if I received some service as well. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Stopped by for a flu shot.....after 75 minutes and still waiting, got a refund and went to Walgreens.....where the cost was less and we were in and out in 15 minutes....and the entire experience was a much better one! The snarky attitude of the pharmacist Daniel P Lyons was the icing on the cake! When I questioned why this was taking such a long time, in a raised voice, he told me he was dealing with discharge rx's from hospitals, and our rx was next! I told him we had been waiting for 1+hour and I wanted a refund, so I could go elsewhere. I will be contacting the corporate office to follow up on this event. Im sure they don't want employees like Mr Lyons representing their store! This interaction is not worthy of the 1 star rating that I am forced to give it! I called my prescription 5 hours ahead of time. I had to drive from out of town to pick it up and it still wasn't ready. They quoted me another 30-40 mins! What is the point of an estimated time if it is going to be way way off? I had two prescriptions, one was ready and the guy ringing me up didn't even tell me my second prescription wasn't ready, I had to ask him where it was. Like, I wouldn't notice the second one wasn't there?! And at the very least, they could have apologized for it not being ready. Terrible service. read more

My prescription was not processed at all and so I had to come back later to receive it. There are SO many options for pharmacies in Chico. Unfortunately, this one recently lost my business. I needed to get a refill. When I called in at lunch time to request that it be ready 5 hours later, they said there was no way they could refill it the same day because they were still catching up on prescriptions from the day before. I called Walgreens on East and Esplanade. They got the Rx transferred and filled within an hour and they have a drive through. Done! No need to hassle with Rite Aid any more. read more

I've never had a particular problem with this pharmacy. But that's not what I'm writing about. The answer to some problems seems missed exactly because it is so glaringly obvious and because we believe that the structures created by powerful corporations and lobbies are just "the way it has to be." Quite simply all pharmacies and all doctors should be mandated to accept a certain quota of MediCal patients. Otherwise you have situations where, for example, a certain chain of 'ghetto-ized" pharmacies that accepts MediCal (or forms of MediCal ) cannot afford to hire and keep happy good employees while other chains rake it in by refusing to accept MediCal patients. read more

I first called to see if they had a hard-to-find item, (a tooth tarter remover/scraper) and they quickly knew what I was talking about and said they had them. I would have bought one on Amazon but all the ones I found online had reviews that said they were flimsy, rusty, or smelled funny--- YUCK! So I drove over there and the store was big and clean and service was delightfully friendly. read more

Against my post-traumatic stress for how much Rite Aid sucks (Redwood City Rite Aid pharmacists are RUDE), I took my two little kids to fill a prescription because it's close to my house. I am sick, I just want to get my medicine! The bigger girl at the pharmacy was rude but whatever, I don't need a best friend (I am her same size, just an identifier!!). After waiting 30 minutes I go to the pickup window and she immediately tells me that she left me a message, they don't have my medicine and she's already called it in across town to the one on East Ave and they have all of my information. Great. I load my tired kids, get to East Ave and NO CALL, NO PRESCRIPTION, AND IT'S NOT WAITING FOR ME. They have NO IDEA what I'm talking about!!! The first girl tells me the wait is 20 minutes, the drop off girl (again no eye contact) tells me it will be 45 MINUTES!!! I AM DONE, DONE, DONE. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!! THAT IS WHY WALMART TO GO GETS ALL OF MY BUSINESS!! I hope you go out of business, company wide you all suuuuuck.
