This is for the Pharmacy. My dog was recently diagnosed with epilepsy so I'm fairly new with the rules and regulations of picking up certain medications. I tried picking up Phenobarbital for him at least 8 days before he runs out just in case they're out of stock or they are hard to refill(an issue we had with his emergency meds at this location.) I was told by a young girl who helped me out (who was talking to a man on the side) that it was way too early and to come back 4 days later to pick up. Did just that this past Monday. Was turned away once again, told it's still early and come back tomorrow(today which is Tuesday.) I dropped by and was helped by an older lady who actually checked to see if they had the Pheno in stock. She said they didn't and had to order a refill. I asked her what to do for future reference(to save all these stupid trips back and forth empty handed) and she explained to call in 4 days ahead for a refill and come two days before it runs out to pick up. Had I been explained that from the beginning, I feel like I would have gotten the prescription sooner. Idk if the younger girl was new but it would've been better to explain that to me. I'm really grateful for the woman who helped me out today so I know for the future because God forbid I cannot have access to my dog's meds before they run out. I really hope that NEVER happens or else THEY will have a BIGGER problem. read more

Called this afternoon and asked about bringing my 3 children in for their 2nd COVID19 vaccinations and was told to bring them in anytime between 2 and 3 PM today. I then went on to ask if those would be the walk in hours all week but was hung up on before I could fully get the question out, let alone answered. I pulled my kids from school and rushed to the Rite Aid to make it on time, arriving approximately 25 minutes until 3. The woman at the counter then told me that there are 3 people waiting on vaccinations and if they can't complete them and get us in before 3 PM they will not do the vaccinations. The woman then gave me 2 forms instead of the 3 I said I needed which led to having to get back into the line all over again and ask for one. Once I got back to the counter and asked for another paper they let me know that it is now 255 PM so they won't be giving us vaccinations. I asked the man at the counter whom I am almost certain is the person I spoke to on the phone why they would have not told me any of this when I called and said I would be bringing in my 3 children. He literally shrugged it off and said someone will let me know next time and walked off. There were also active duty servicemembers in line behind me prior to 3 PM who were also being turned away when asking for vaccines. Upon leaving I called into the location and asked for the name of the pharmacist on duty, the same man laughed and said that he is the pharmacist and his name is Brian. I asked about a last name and he laughed and said Taylor. He is not the person who initially answered the phone and put me on hold for about 8 minutes before he came on the line. After speaking with the corporate office they said this person likely gave me a fake name. A formal complaint was filed. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had in a Rite Aid. Please do not waste your time and money on such trash service. They will literally tell you to come in just to turn you away once you get there. read more

Just another box store with high prices. Staff at pharmacy varies with shift change. New prescriptions may take them awhile to process. Location is in strip mall with possible crime and needles in parking lot. Check consumables date on packaging. Customers must keep head on a swivel and watch for robbery. read more

This Rite Aid at 5210 Oaklawn Boulevard in Hopewell, VA is immaculate. Hadn't been in this location for awhile. The remodeling blew me away. Their shelves are fully stocked. The store looks so much bigger and it very well may be. I have never seen such a clean organized Rite Aid. Everyone was very friendly. The only reason I go to the other Hopewell location is because they open at 7am. I'm going to start waiting until 8am and make this my store read more

If you are legally blind, or have a disability that prevents you from driving, do not go to this Rite Aid (5210 Oaklawn Blvd. Hopewell, VA 23860) or potentially any other Rite Aid. I went to this Rite Aid in order to be tested for COVID-19. I had an appointment, but they refused to test me because I was not in a car. I am legally blind and therefore cannot drive a car. I live by myself, and the only way I can get around is by biking, walking, or taking a taxi/Lyft/Uber. There is a chance that I have COVID, so, in an attempt to not spread it to anyone else, I decided to be tested. I selected the closest testing site to where I live and made an appointment. When I arrived, however, I was told that they would not test me because I was not in a car. I told them that I was legally blind, and therefore could not drive. Since I did not want to take the chance of getting anyone else sick, I could not take a taxi, Lyft, or Uber. They still refused to test me. Apparently since I have a disability that prevents me from driving a car, I do not have the same rights as everyone else who can drive. I do not have the right to be tested for COVID. I do not have the right to keep other people safe and not be a speeder of COVID. Ever since going legally blind in my late-20s, I have struggled with accepting my new limitations, but I never thought that I would be denied the right to be healthy or to keep others safe from a virus that has killed millions because of it. read more

Off of the main road through Hopewell, this Rite Aid is in a bit of a sketchy neighborhood so I wouldn't recommend a night time leisurely visit. However, the one good thing about this place is that it's open 24 hours, to include the pharmacy, so if you need an emergency resupply of sudafed or other drugs, then you can get it taken care of quickly here. read more

Dis rite aid pharmacy effin sucks sumtimes...but otha times its ok..I guess the oskay times outway the sucky times so that's prolly y I still get all my meds sent to dis pharmacy. read more
