It's Walmart so you know the food and the items. They are all the same. What separates a good store vs a bad one is the staff and cleanliness. Cleanliness: I know the reason is the customers but the staff have to do better. This store always seems to be in disarray. Lines: Walmart wonders why folks make other choices when shopping. One main reason is the checkout of these store. 2 lines open - that's it. 12 folks in line. Ridiculous at 10:52 AM, on a Tuesday. Staff: they just act like that hate it so bad to be here that in shows in there service. It's a shame. I suggest not here on any day unless you absolutely have to. Make a better choice. Target or Amazon. I even slowed down my online Walmart because I really think their HQ have stores manned like this due to their desire to push folks to online. read more

Pickup order area has reserved parking that is typically halfway filled with regular customers for parking...just empty cars taking up spaces. Then you sit for over an hour and a half for your order that may or not come out. They regularly shut down pickup area due to staffing shortages or whatever else excuse, without notification. They can't handle the customer pickup areas at all for regular customers, Uber or Spark, and whatever other drivers I've talked to all waiting and frustrated. I rarely would rate a Walmart a five but this one is somewhat more unique. It is located in a small and tight shopping center with several places to eat and shops along with offices. You have to park in the parking deck but you get 3 hrs free parking the parking deck is attached to the Walmart. The store is a Supercenter but a small one. The shelves are well stocked which is amazing considered how crowded it was and how much people seem to buy here a one time. The employees were on top of things and very helpful. The store was clean and checkouts seem to keep moving so there was no waiting, this was with self checkouts. I am in town for work and this was close to the hotel. But most shoppers were local and seemed to be doing their weekly grocery shopping here which days a lot in itself about the quality of the store at this location. read more

I absolutely despise Walmart...lol...like, if I had to go there, I'd pay someone else to go for me instead. It's always like 2 lanes open with a million customers waiting & rude, unhappy-looking staff. Well, I went to this one the other day specifically looking for VSU t-shirts. I found the most in the men's section, but there were a few in the women's section. They fit very small, so you will have to go up 1-2 sizes for comfort. The lady at the fitting room was kinda friendly. She was there gossiping with another lady, so I had some entertainment while trying on the tight VSU shirts. Once I was finished, I went to the self checkout. All the cash registers were taken. I waited and waited & finally saw a man leave, so I ran up to it. He hadn't paid. I asked the cashier to void his order since he left & she said he left to go get money. As I waited, all the people behind me got the other registers. I mean, how long do we wait for a moneyless customer to come back? I literally waited almost 10 minutes & ended up hitting the cancel button myself. Even that required her approval. By then, she skipped along to someone else & didn't void it. Finally, another register was open & I was able to check out there. SEE, this is the reason I despise WM. I visited the photo department at this Walmart to print same day pictures. The machine ran out of ink and needed the cartridge changed. I requested assistance from a young lady stocking the shelves in that exact area and she stated she would find the person who works in that department. I waited for more than 30 minutes and then she returned with an attitude with her earpiece in her ear talking casually to someone on the other end. What disrespect. She told he would be with me in 10 minutes. No one showed up for another 20 minutes. My photos were locked in the computer so I couldn't retrieve all of my photos. I went to the service desk to speak to a manager and they acted like that was totally impossible. The attitudes of all the employees I dealt with on this day was horrible. Very poor customer service. Poor customer service, they need to keep attentive associates. When I was in self-checkout a few days ago, I noticed that one of the machines had issues. I tried to alert the associate, but he deliberately ignored me. He was chatting with another associate. I ended up using the Walmart app to pay for my stuff, which took an extra few minutes. The entire layout of the store is ugly, it made more sense to keep beauty products next toiletries and the bread next to the baked goods. Plus, the new layout also makes it difficult for customers without merchandise to leave the store; I assume this is an anti-theft design, but it makes it difficult for honest customers who didn't find what they need and want to leave the store. read more

I ordered pickup for the first time today and scheduled it from 7pm-8pm for pickup, my order was delayed twice and then finally at 7:40pm was told it was ready. I got to the store and all of the parking spots were full for pickup so I had to wait for one to open then had to fight for a space to pickup because of some many people pulling up at the same time. I got there at 7:58 and clicked 'here'. At 8:44pm I finally contacted support and asked what the deal was, they responded short staffed. The entire hour I was here before contacting support ONE person got their order. Ridiculous wait time. Don't accept these orders if the store can't handle it with staff level. Had to contact customer support TWICE to see what was going on. Saw 4 people doing carts while waiting. My husband went up to the pickup area at 9:50pm and they refused to allow us to grab the food that was already paid for and finished even after 2 hours. The lady that was parked beside us at 10pm had been waiting since 6pm to get her order. Manager was not helpful what so ever just kept telling us to wait. They have been going through some sort of remodel in the colonial heights store. They cut it down to one line to wait to check out. If you have more than 15 items, you HAVE to go through the 2 open checkout lines. Tonight I went in, making sure to only have 15 items. The main line is wrapped around into produce. I walk up and look, 7 self checkouts are closed. I have been spending around $1000 per month on groceries at this store, but no more. One of the employees just stands in corner doing nothing at all. She doesn't help customers who ask for help because scan gun in self checkout isn't working to scan bulk items. She yells back at them "You can figure it out yourself". I don't know employee name because her name tag was hidden. She was tall and wears a wig. She looked up the order and verified that although my wife called when I arrived, they never showed me as being checked in. Thanks to Leslie's hard work and dedication and perseverance I was blessed to have her deliver our order to our vehicle. What a crappy place to go to. So many employees pushing those huge carts around and blocking up isles shopping for pick ups. Also Walmart doesn't stock the shelves very well. They either low on stock or just out. They also have a habit of just cramming items into a spot that isn't for that item. I do not buy meat there because it doesn't last more than a day or two. I expect it to not go bad so quickly. The meat department frequently sell meat that has expired just like the dairy department. Why do I go there save them money by going through the self checkout registers, because they don't have but a couple people attended registers open and the lines are long. Walmart isn't fun anymore, it's a disappointing experience. It will never be fun like it was when they first opened. So sad. I wish I could only give a half a star. There is a reason this Walmart is called 'The Jungle' by everyone I know (friends, family, et cetera). This store is an absolute MADHOUSE. Never enough registers open, place always seems dirty and disheveled, and don't even dare try to bother employees for ANYTHING. I just got done trying to phone them about if they're carrying a certain product and I was on the phone listening to it ring for TEN STRAIGHT MINUTES before I hung up. This place is open 24/7 -- why the f__ can't anyone answer a friggin' phone?? It especially annoyed me when the automated voice kept saying "You're call is very important to us. Please hold as your call is being rerouted to the next available line".. Um, obviously my call is NOT THAT IMPORTANT if I was on hold for TEN F___G MINUTES. I'm not at all surprised, but that's just as sad to admit. I shouldn't have to get used to how crappy the service is at a store.
