So its been a few years since I posted a review on Rite Aid Oroville. The staff are still very friendly and a pleasure to talk to them. I'm sure finding good help is difficult these days. The service is much better, but still they need to resolve get meds out when promised. I would give them 3 1/2 stars but I am unable to do that and they are not at 4 stars yet. Worst pharmacy ever. Staff is nice and professional, but they are understaffed and over managed. Here's the refill process in a nut shell. You call in your order with their automated service. You show up to pick it up later that afternoon. It's not ready. You come back the next day and it's still not ready. You give them one more chance and come back on the day after that. It's still not ready. You ask "what the heck is going on, I need my meds, I'm going to fucking die ?!?" They say "Oh, we'll have that out to you in just a few minutes" 10 minutes later....it finally comes out. Like I said. Worst pharmacy in town. But it's not the employees fault. read more

I might be biased because I live few blocks away. Their alcohol isn't behind a stupid case. It is at checkout. When I want a drink after five days of grueling work, I don't want to wait an hour for someone to open the locked glass to get what I'd like. Also most employees are chill. I called for 3 days and no one would answer the phones, I got the voice mail and left numerous messages, explaining that I had COVID and needed my prescriptions delivered and no one called me back. I had been getting 1 med every month there. Due to insurance reasons, I could only have it filled about the day I run out. I would call a day or two ahead...then go to pick up and it is never ready. With the cost of fuel, it would cost me about 5 bucks per trip into town and back home. Last few times it would take 3 trips into town. That is 15 bucks in fuel! Make a long story short, I switched to mail order HoneyBeeHealth in Culver City, California. I am paying out of pocket and skipping using my insurance. I just received 3 months of meds for a total of 18 dollars that included priority shipping! Total WIN WIN!!! read more

I called in prescriptions on Monday to be picked up on Monday. I was assured they would be ready Monday afternoon. I come on Thursday morning at 8am to avoid the crowds/wait YET here I sit waiting for meds that were promised to be ready two days ago.... The excuse was two people are out because of Covid. Any time that the pharmacists know my name, it's pretty awesome to come in and not even have to say "I'm so and so, picking up for so and so". They just say, "Hey, Alexa!" (not because I take a lot of drugs.., I just get strep throat 2-3 times a year because I work with sick kids for 70% of my work week... but I also have a rather unique Alsatian last name, so that helps with the recognition factor). But even if my last name were Brown, I think they would still try to learn my name. That's how great this place is. You pretty much feel like Norm on Cheers. This Rite Aid is clean, friendly and never crazy busy, so I love it and will drive well out of my way to use it. I have never felt so taken care of in a pharmacy. Way to go, Rite Aid. read more

Disappointed. I called to discuss moving my prescriptions over from another pharmacy and talked to a girl there named Ashley and wow, what a rude woman. I've never experienced someone as seemingly unhappy with their job (life?) as she was. To call her unprofessional is an understatement here. Rude, snippy, unfriendly... I could go on and on. I'm shocked someone like this is permitted to work there and sadly I know several other people in sharing this, that have had the same unfortunate experience. This review is coming after several disappointing experiences - I often give businesses several chances before leaving an online critique of their service. I called the pharmacy today at noon and asked when my prescription would be ready. They told me that it would be ready by 3 pm. I reasoned that they had been extremely late in the past, so I'd come by at 5 pm to pick up my prescription. I figured that surely 2 extra hours would be sufficient padding. It wasn't. I arrived to a usual line of 16 people. I waited and when I approached the desk and gave my birthdate, I knew there was a problem. I was informed that it hadn't been filled yet and would require a 45 min to 1 hour wait. This is unacceptable service, especially when dealing in something as important as medication where distribution is time sensitive. Rite Aid needs to step in and do some cleaning of this pharmacy. It doesn't meet their high standards and is damaging the reputation and brand of Rite Aids everywhere. Please use CVS or the Walgreens across the street. read more

I've gone to this pharmacy for several years and it has become a nightmare to deal with. Took in a prescription from my doctor in SF and they set it aside and obviously ignored it. Then filled days later. Now they're holding another prescription because it's too close to the other Rx that was held. Their fault, but my problem and since it's my pain medication I'm literally the one suffering for it. If you're only getting non essential meds it may be OK, but consider other avenues if it's urgent and essential. Don't listen to automative system it's never right and no one calls to tell you that your request won't happen like it should for whatever reason. Then they don't start counting refill until 30 days after you picked it up (due to their delays). So frustrating read more

We've been coming to rite Aid pharmacy for many years but this year they're boarder line negligent. We have a medication for a child that cannot be stopped without detrimental effects we cannot fill it early but we drop it off in advance to make sure it's on hand, often it has to be ordered. At one point the pharmacist forgot to order it and no where in town had it. Today we go to portion out the medication for the week and realize he has half the amount the rx is written for, so now I need to count my son's meds prior to leaving the pharmacy. I received a call from the pharmacy asking for my medical information. Told them I didn't have it. I would call them when I found it. I called back with the wrong information. When they explained I needed other information, they barely gave me time to locate it and instead became irritated with me. They said to call back when I found it. I immediately called back, having just found it. They were rude and asked me what I wanted? I explained I called to give them the information. They began treating me like an imbecile. I asked why they were acting that way and they hung up on me. I have never been treated so rude. Obviously they have not trained their employees on customer service. read more

The layout of the store is a bit weird - but the whole chain is, so they are consistent. I'm writing this review because of the pharmacy service. How pathetic! Yesterday I call and ask if my prescription is ready because I got the automated phone call saying it was. No....they were working on the last one but it would be ready soon so I decided to come the next day. Today I go to pick it up and the clerk says "I can't give it to you because the pharmacist has to push a button on the register and he's not here right now". Huh? I ask when will he be in and I get "don't know". Huh? They give me an automated call saying my drugs are ready, I drive 25 minutes to pick them up and I can't because there is no pharmacist here to push a button on the register? Took my prescription in to be filled. I have been seeing the same doctor for 15 years now. I suffer from extremely bad headaches. I have seen many doctors. They all put me on different medications. Last specialist put me on Topamax and a few others. They flat out made feel like suicide. I stopped taking that stuff after about 6 months. I take Norco, Emitrex, & Flexural to keep my headaches under control. I normally fill my medications at Lisa Family Pharmacy in Paradise. I lost my home in the fire and the Paradise Pharmacy was burnt down also. I was blessed enough to get housing in Oroville. I went to Las Plumas so Oroville is my second home. I took my prescription to Rite Aide to be filled. The Pharmacist was very rude. Looked at me like I had 3 heads. Made me sit there for several minutes and said I am not filling this. I asked why. All he did is point to my doctors address. I said what is the problem. He pointed to the address again. Finally he said out of area. I said yes he is but I have been seeing him for years. He said he would not fill it. I told him I live in Oroville. He did not care. I understand there is a problem with some medicines these days but not everyone is addicted. Some people actually need this medicine. What is upsetting is Rite Aide filled the exact medication for me the month prior. I told that to the Pharmacist and his response was it should have never been filled. I do not feel like this place is my neighborhood Pharmacy. I will take my medication & all my business to Walgreen's from now on. read more

This pharmacy, which was all kinds of adequate before, has become notorious in Oroville since they took over Robert's Drugs and Olive Pharmacy. EVERYBODY talks about it, and not in a loving way! Here's my own fun-filled experience. I don't write one-star reviews unless I have had repeated bad experiences. My sister owns a business, and hates when someone writes a bad review based on one bad experience. However, I have had bad experience after bad experience there since the merger. The last two months in a row, my prescriptions took three days to fill - and last time they forgot to fill one (in fairness, the woman I spoke to was very apologetic and got it filled within 30 minutes). This month I have to have surgery. I was prescribed three medications to take before the surgery, and I brought them in Thursday morning to be filled. I called to make sure it was getting filled Friday morning around 9 AM, and was told "We're working on it, it'll be done in an hour." I went by to pick it up at noon. Again, I was told "We're working on it, it'll be done in an hour." I called again at five o'clock that evening, and I was told, "We're working on it, it'll be done in an hour." I went in Saturday morning around nine o'clock, and two of the prescriptions were ready. I had to wait for the third one to be filled. I waited 30 minutes, and I was then informed that they did not have that pill in stock. Seriously??!! They didn't notice that on Thursday, or Friday, or even on Saturday for 30 full minutes. I talked to the pharmacist, Greg (who is always friendly and helpful), and he told me I could call around to other pharmacies to see if they had it. I did and they don't. If I'd known sooner, I could have at least called my surgeon's office and found out what to do. Now I am left preparing over the weekend for a surgery on Monday that is probably not going to happen. I will try to include something nice: Since the merger with Robert's Drugs and Olive Pharmacy, the service is considerably friendlier. I have been going to Rite-Aid for years, and I have never once been greeted with a smile of recognition or a friendly hello, just someone snapping "Birthdate?" at me. The people from the other stores are more friendly. I am stuck using this pharmacy because of my insurance. Anyone with different insurance should flee!
