They had a flat bed, which made it super easy. Double secured it and were off. They dropped it at the garage, locked it and put the key in the drop box which saved me the trip of going along. Saturday September 6th, 2005…read more I was in a car accident, the car spun out and hit both wheels on a curb, my car needed two new front rims and parts associated with the wheels replaced. The car remains idoling, the engine and all parts of the car are fine except the wheels. I call a tow truck, Anytime Transport and Towing arrives. They take my car to my well known and trusted shop which is closed, and closed on Sunday. I'm stuck until Monday. But, the driver convinces me, "WE have a shop it's open right now, he's beyond trustworthy, he's my own stepfather. We can look at it today AND start work tomorrow." Please make note of that statement, it will be crucial. We'll start working on your car tomorrow. Great, we take the car 8 miles away to 995 Edwards rode and meet Jeff, the "trustworthy mechanic". He's cordial, looks at the car, assesses that it needs the rims and says he'll figure out the full damage under the car TOMORROW, but it looks like it needs parts that will cost about $150 and $150 in labor. He goes on to say that he can get the rims and wheels quite easily and inexpensively via junk yards because my wheel type is common. He then opines, wait a minute, in addition, my step son has a bunch of spare cars and tires at his place, I'm confident those will work as well. Jackpot! Sunday, I touch base late in the afternoon with Jeff. "How's it coming?" Jeff, "Well, I had stuff to do today, I'd have to get the parts tomorrow anyway, I'll get started tomorrow." Monday, he looks at the car. "Hey Jeff, well, what's the progress?" Jeff, "Ya, you need a number of parts for the undercarriage, but they have these kits I can order where it will all come together and save you money, I went to the junk yards today, no luck on your tires, but don't worry we'll get em'". I say, "well, that sounds expensive." He says, "Oh no no no, the kits is $250, but the labor cost stays the same!" Great! Tuesday, Jeff, "I ordered the kit, so look the actual cost needs to be $875, but great news! I can give you a break and only charge you $775, fantastic, right!" Me, "O.k., but you have the rims and wheels now and you're ready to go, right? Listen Jeff, I commute for work, I will literally lose my job without this car. I work Fridays through Mondays" Jeff, "Steven, I guarantee you it will be fully fixed and ready by Thursday." O.k., but seriously, it's a hard deadline for me, I can still tow it to my other shop, I've spoken with them and they can do it in two days." Jeff, "I give you my word of honor, I promise you 100%, it WILL be ready by Thursday, I would not lie to you." Me, "Fair enough". Wednesday, Me, "How are we looking, is it fixed yet?" Jeff, "well I'm still waiting on the parts." Me, "O.k., so did you get the rims so you'll be ready to go in the morning?" Jeff, "Nah, I got stuff I gotta do today." Great Thursday, the pivotal day, 3 p.m.. Me: "O.k. Jeff, what's the status, are we ready?" Jeff, "well, I'M F'ed". Friday, Me; "TEXT me when you have some progress to report, something, anything". Friday, he does not get the wheels, he does no work on the car, he does not text me. Saturday, his stepson texts me, "Hey buddy, we need to get some wheels for your truck!" I don't own a truck, it's a car. Jeff does not get the wheels, he does no work on the car, he does not text me. Sunday, he does not get the wheels, he does no work on the car, he does not text me. Monday, he does not get the wheels, he does no work on the car, he does not text me. Tuesday, he does not get the wheels, he does no work on the car, he does not text me. Day Eleven, Wednesday, "Hey, I got the parts and car. I don't think you appreciate everything that I'm doing for you." He literally texted me that. 2 p.m. Jeff, "I'm sure you'll be happy, the cars is fixed!" Me, "so I can come pick it up?" Jeff, "No, I still have to get the rims" Jeff, "I found some rims! I'm putting tires on them now, then I just have to put the wheels on the car and you're done, but your going to lose your sensors, I didn't get those." Me, "Great, so about 3 p.m.?" Jeff, "No, more like 6 p.m., I always like to give myself extra time just in case, I'll call you when it's ready." 4 p.m. No call 4:30 no call 5:30 no call. 5:45 p.m., I call him. Jeff, "Oh ya, it's ready, you can come pick it up anytime!" Status of car, the car looks absolutely filthy, no idea where he drove it or how after he got the wheels on. Said wheels are HUGE, much larger than the previous ones and don't match the back at all. One tire is about 90 percent bald, the other already has metal poking out of it. The car very clearly is not aligned, when I let go of the steering wheel it veers wildly to the right. It's hard to steer and the front end now shudders when I go over 40 mph. Far and away, the most incompetent, unprofessional, untrustworthy shop in the history of shops. After reading this, if you use this shop, I have no sympathy for you.

Advance Auto Repair & Transmission - Please Read Before Trusting This Shop With Your Transmission…read more I normally do not leave negative reviews, but after dealing with this issue from November 2024 through 2026, I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make an informed decision before spending thousands of dollars here. In November 2024, I brought my vehicle to Advance Auto Repair & Transmission because my transmission was slipping. After speaking with the owner, Frank, I paid $3,991 on 11/2/2024 to have my transmission rebuilt. About a week after getting my car back, I noticed transmission fluid leaking and had to return the vehicle for repairs. They corrected the leak, but approximately three months later, the transmission began slipping again. I brought the car back, and Frank repaired it without issue. However, shortly afterward, the torque converter (which is part of the transmission system) failed. The torque converter was replaced multiple times because, according to Frank, the parts supplier kept sending defective parts. Eventually, he ordered the part directly from the dealership. Unfortunately, after the replacement, the transmission slipping returned again. I continued reporting the issue, but every time we test drove the vehicle together, the problem would not happen while Frank was present but did happen when one of his employees test drove it with me for about 30 minutes and he cleaned a certain part that he thought would fix the problem, which it didn't. When I brought it back and told frank his employee noticed the slippage, we asked him but now he state he doesn't remember. Are you serious. What kind of shop is this. So frank again told me he believed I was "paranoid" and insisted the transmission was fine. Instead of fully resolving the issue, he extended my transmission warranty as a "courtesy." However, my concern was never about extending the warranty -- it was about properly fixing the transmission while it was still under warranty. I continued driving the car despite the slipping because I had already invested nearly $4,000 into the repair. Over the course of 2024 into 2026, I repeatedly brought the vehicle back regarding the same issue. Throughout this entire process, I remained patient and respectful, despite the ongoing frustration. My final visit was especially disappointing. After waiting for Frank to return from a test drive, he walked into the office laughing. I told him I did not understand what was funny because this situation has cost me thousands of dollars and years of inconvenience. Once again, he dismissed my concerns and told me the transmission was fine and that I was simply paranoid after we test drove it for only about 5 minutes. What makes this even more frustrating is that multiple passengers who rode in my car independently noticed the transmission slipping without me mentioning anything to them beforehand. Clearly, I am not imagining the issue. Before I left, Frank informed me that my warranty had expired, despite the fact that the original transmission problem was never permanently resolved while the warranty was active. Advance Auto Repair & Transmission advertises "100% guaranteed work," but based on my experience, I do not feel that promise was honored. After paying nearly $4,000 , which I'm still paying on and spending over a year returning to the shop for the same unresolved issue, my transmission is still slipping. Frank got paid, I still do not have a properly repaired transmission and I'm out of $4000.
