I'll keep this short. Call someone else! $100.00 to tow the car 30 minutes away. No complaints about that. However they picked up the car at 1:30 pm and said it would be at the shop by 2:15 at the latest which is good since they lock the gates at 3pm. Well fast forward to 6:30pm and still not there? After literally 14 phone calls and texts messages they finally "find" my car. Every text message said it's on the way, however 5 hours to drive a 25 miles? Not to mention you lose the car? Then when I ask the owner what took so long and how do you lose a car he says "what are you complaining about? You got your car didn't you" sure after having to pay the shop $35.00 extra to wait for the car and now have to wait an extra day to get my car back! Seriously call someone else! read more

I would never recommend Rite Hook Towing to anyone. I needed my Ford Explorer towed to my repair shop. My truck was in my driveway which is located on the street behind my house. When the tow truck driver arrived to the front of my house, I explained that we have to go around the corner to get to my driveway and before he ever saw the driveway he said that he didn't think he could tow my truck out of the driveway. I convinced him to go and look at it and he did. Once he saw my driveway, he said that his tow truck would not fit. I had to convince him that it would fit because my truck had been towed into the driveway with the same size tow truck. I also explained to him that my truck needed to be turned around so that it would be facing in the right direction when he dropped it off at the repair shop. He said "That's too much work. I can't do that". I even offered to pay and he said no. Long story short. He parked my truck on the street in the front of my house and told me to call another towing service to come and tow my truck to the repair shop which caused me to have to wait over 3 hours for another tow truck to come. read more

This company is absolutely horrible....do not use. Tow truck driver backed up into my car at a red light and then lied about it to the cops. When I spoke with the owner of the company he was just as much a P.O.S. like the driver. They are obviously not a reputable company. If he lied about a small fender bender who knows what they will do to your car!!! Beware read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I pay for Geico Roadside Assistance and have never had an issue with Geico. I had accidentally locked my truck keys with my house keys inside of my truck at home. I contacted Geico and was originally given an ETA of 9:47pm which was spectacular. Little did I know that actually meant 1.5 hours after the original ETA. At 10:00pm Geico contacted me saying the operator should be on location by this time. I told Geico that they were not on location yet. I then contacted the company and they told me 10-15mins. After about 30 minutes I called Geico and they began the process of reassigning another company due to Rite Hooks's false ETAs. At this point now at 11:10pm Rite Hook finally showed up and performed the procedure for a lock out. I filed an official complaint with Geico against this contracted company and from my understanding this is not the first time something like this has happened between this contracted company and Geico. Please! If you see this company assigned as your Roadside Assistance request another company based on this company's poor response times and false ETAs. read more

This place is horrible.the driver who came out was inexperienced and rude.he spoke to me loudly and i told him to change his aditude. He bluntly responded saying i can speak to you however the fuck i want.i never heard a employee speak to me like that.especially near southjersey. I dont recommend this place to anyone.by the way most of the reviews are posted by tim the partial owner.that doesnt count lol.these people need to get reported to the better business bureau and get shut down.then they can be rude and moody jobless read more

If I could give this company zero stars I would. I ordered a tow through Buick GMC roadside assistance. They were supposed to arrive with 30-50 minutes. I asked for text and phone alerts and received none in this time. After an hour I called Buick to check the status. I was told that the driver went to a completely different town 40 minutes away. My street doesn't even exist in that town. Upon hearing this I asked for a closer truck and was put on hold for 20 minutes. I called Buick back who verified that the address they provided was correct. So it was the tow driver who couldn't read addresses properly. I Googled Rite Hook and called the phone number listed and the person who answered was the rudest most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. After trying to get a straight answer out of him as to what happened he hung up on me. At no point did I get a call or text from the driver or Rite Hook alerting me that they received my request or that they were on their way. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. If your roadside assistance company tells you that Rite Hook towing will be there to pick you up ASK FOR ANOTHER TOW COMPANY. read more

Before I begin, I would like to clarify that I worked with the branch of Rite Hook Towing in Bayonne, New Jersey rather than Swedesboro, but the Bayonne branch doesn't have a Yelp page, so I will be recounting my experience here instead. After picking up my lovely boyfriend from the airport on that fateful day in July, my car stalled on the Jersey Turnpike. NJ is weird about the turnpike, so only a towing company with a permit was allowed to respond to my situation initially. The permitted towing company got us off the turnpike & brought us to their towing station about 9 miles away; this is the location from where Rite Hook Towing would later take over. So far not too painful. I called my insurance company, & they contacted Rite Hook Towing to get me, Erik (the bf), & Petunia (the car) from the other towing company's station in NJ to Easton, PA where I go to school. They gave me an arrival time for the towing company, & Erik & I proceeded to eat a frosty at a Wendy's in the vicinity in the meantime (which was stellar, by the way). Minutes before the estimated arrival time, I receive a call from Rite Hook saying they will be about 90 minutes late. I'm getting frustrated, but stuff happens. So we wait, & they eventually show up. I gave the Rite Hook driver the keys to my vehicle so he could put her in neutral, put up the windows, & get her hauled onto the tow truck. I'm feeling pretty good so far. We leave the tow station & head to Easton about 65 miles away. We eventually arrive at my school, & I speak to the company supervisor on the phone about the payment, give him my credit card numbers 3 times, & was told that for some reason the payment wasn't going through. He told me that unless I had another card (which I don't), I was going to have to pay in cash. I'm becoming more agitated. I go back to the driver & find him frantically searching through the truck & his pockets. Apparently, he lost the only set of keys to my vehicle. I, of course, start freaking out because I just had the day from hell & only wanted sleep. The driver proceeds to check all the compartments of his truck & my car before finally giving up & spending the next 20 minutes on the phone. He tells us that he contacted his supervisor & the towing company would be sending a locksmith to my vehicle early the next day at the tow company's expense. I naively believed him, & he then took me to an ATM so I could get cash to pay for the tow. I got the cash, he got my car off the truck, I gave him the cash (& didn't receive a receipt, by the way), I took all my belongings out of the car since I couldn't lock it, the driver left, & Erik & I went to bed. Think it's all over, right? Wrong. The next morning rolls around, & my wonderful father drives up from York, PA to Easton to fetch his poor stranded daughter & her bf. We're sitting around waiting for the locksmith when I get a text message from my bank about unusual activity on my card. Evidently, the towing company charged the $375 to my card even though I had paid the driver the full amount in cash. I proceeded to call Rite Hook. I wished to inquire about (1) the double charge to my account & (2) at what time we should expect to see the locksmith. I believe Evan answered the phone, & I explained what was going on, & he said he would have his supervisor call me back. I waited. I eventually got a call from the supervisor, so I inquired about the double charge to my account first. He said he didn't know why it happened & that I should take it up with my bank. He then hung up on me before I had a chance to inquire about the locksmith. Now I'm aggravated. I called Evan back, telling him that I would like to speak to his boss again since he hung up on me the first time, & he starts saying things like "you have to give me time to do things," & says I'm being rude. I proceeded to hand the phone over to my father because I was angry laughing at this point (which is the final stage in my progression of angriness), & somehow, my father gets a hold of the supervisor who says that the driver doesn't have the authority to issue a locksmith & that he had never been informed that the keys had been lost & that if we wanted a new set of keys, we would need to file a claim through our insurance company & that that was the only way that the towing company would pay for the expenses. My father does just this, & because my insurance company rocks, they agreed. So maybe it wasn't the towing company's fault that all this happened & maybe they just hired a shady, good-for-nothing driver, but either way, the experience was supremely awful. So, long story short, if you go with Rite Hook Towing, you will likely have to wait an extra hour & a half for them to show up, lose a set of keys, be charged twice for the same tow, be lied to by your tow truck driver, be hung-up-on by the manager, be called rude by Evan, & be forced to write the longest possible Yelp review recounting your experience because it was just that awful. read more

My (senior) mother and I were driving on I-76 heading towards Atlantic City when we experienced car trouble. It was 92 degrees at rush hour on July 4th weekend. Wall to wall cars for hours. We had roadside assistance through State Farm Insurance Company. They dispatched Rite Hook Towing. We were texted details about the arrival time (90 minutes). I did call Rite Hook just to confirm that the Insurance Company understood where we were located and dispatched a tow company close to us (because they had difficulty understanding where we broke down) The guy who answered the phone was not very nice and responded with "I have 20 people ahead of you". I really was not calling to complain, just ask a question. Shortly after that I received a call from the tow truck driver who told us he was on his way and how long he would be. He was sweet and polite and reassuring. When he did arrive he made sure we got in the tow truck okay and were comfortable. He was a pleasure. And his name was Harry (the 6th!). Breaking down is never convenient and always aggravating. Especially on a holiday weekend. But I would recommend Rite Hook Towing, especially if Harry comes to get you. read more
