The only reason they are getting a 4 star review is because of Chuck Thomas! We had a flood inside of our home. Our neighbors hired Rite Rug for their flooring. The initial salesman that we encountered was Chuck Thomas, and he was extremely informative. The neighbors recommended a different salesman, and he showed up in the middle of our conversation and took over. We actually ended up going with the recommendation that Chuck had. We worked with the other salesman for pricing and installation. We special ordered our flooring and knew it would be a couple weeks. I called one week in advance and scheduled for install and was told it would be OK. The day of installation nobody showed up and there was no phone calls. I called the salesman who told me my phone was not accepting phone calls. Said our flooring was not in stock yet and he would call me back with an install date, which never happened. Then blocked my phone number or stopped responding to my two additional text messages that I sent. We went into Rite Rug due to no response and no call back from the salesman, and encountered Chuck Thomas again, who actually took the time to sit down with us, look at our account, and see what the holdup was. He informed us that we were, in fact, already scheduled for install (which we were not informed of by the previous salesman), he reviewed our entire account, submitted our credit that was due to our account due to a difference in square footage coverage, that also was not addressed by the previous salesman. He reviewed the install supplies and added some things that were missing. He then printed everything out for us along with writing down the install date and his initials. The installation crew were absolutely amazing. The floors are beautiful. We highly recommend Rite Rug but even more so we highly, highly recommend Chuck Thomas. read more

I don't understand how this company is in business. We went to their store because we wanted flooring. Our salesman gave us samples and prices, came out to measure, and we never heard back. We've called no less than ten times in the last month. We still have no estimate for the project. ​​I've never seen anything like this in my life. We have used Rite Rug for all of our flooring in every room in our 2400 sq ft condo over the past 5 years, once project at a time. Their selection of products is very good, and their installers were amazing and paid close attention to every detail, right down to placing quarter round and caulk. We also found their customer service to extremely helpful and friendly. We only had one issue that needed attention a few years after the installation due to a product error, they were quick to evaluate and get a reimbursement from the manufacturer and Rite Rug paid for the removal and replacement entire floor. We were extremely pleased with the final results and were amazed how effortless the whole process went. Can say enough good things about our experiences with this company and will continue to use them in the future. read more

My parents recently ordered tile flooring from this RiteRug. Their sales guy was very nice, came out to the house and everything. He's the only good part of the whole thing. Past that, their experience has been a mess- the first day the floor was to be installed at 8am, nobody showed up. They finally called the store at 11am and were told that the store "just found out their installer was in the hospital"- ??? (Nobody at the store called to let the customers know to cancel appointments? Or they literally just found out about an employee that should have been there 3 hours ago? Poor communication either way!) Ok, things happen, hopefully that person is ok...so installation gets reset for the next day. Installer arrives around 10am and at 5pm says he can't finish the job because he's short a box of tile. He says he'll call the store to order it and someone from the store will call them in a day or so to reschedule the rest of the installation. So now they have a partially finished kitchen floor and a bunch of tile stuff sitting at their house. A few days go by, no call. They call the store, nobody has a clue when the tile might come in. It's been ten days now. Will their floor finally get finished this week?! I'm not counting on it. read more

Rite Rugs service all around is horrible! Salesman will say he can do one thing and then the installation team says they cannot. After debating who is right, they still get it wrong. I had several damaged boards, which took me months worth of emails to get rite Rug to come out and fix. Then they missed a spot and they claimed my damaged boards were ruined due to me mopping my floors. Funny, I do not use water to mop and immediately dry polish with a towel. Subpar work and worse customer service. Forget about talking to their onsite installation team, no one speaks English. Watch them every step of the way if you use their services. Better yet, don't use them! Customer service said a gap in my floor would fill in...it did not. See pic attached. Rite 4/29/2019 Update: Rite Rug supervisor, Leona, went above and beyond to assist me, and correct the problems with my floor. Although, I stand by my initial displeasure with the installers and customer service, the company's staff has impressed me with their willingness to "listen to the voice of the customer." This is the same review i wrote on google but i would like people to see how please i was with company. I came across RiteRug Flooring from my realtor agent after she suggested i get new carpet in my basement before placing my house on the market. She gave me the number of for Chris with RiteRug, 513-444-9507. Chris came out and gave me a very fair quote for my basement. The quote included everything i asked for, which was installation and a inexpensive carpet. When the day came to have the carpet installed I received a call from the installers claiming my heater was working. Indeed the heater wasn't work. When all this happened the installers said they need heat for the carpet to be installed correctly. So Chris worked with me on getting the carpet installers rescheduled. The end product was wonderful. I would recommend RiteRug to anyone and am looking at using them again at my other properties. read more

Folks at the place seemed OK but disorganized. I had cracks and air bubbles in the grout immediately after install so I called them only to discover they have no Customer service as it is farmed out to an office in Columbus, OH. They also farm out their installs so there's a clear lack of communication between all of these, not exactly ideal for customers. It's been 3 weeks and still don't have a fix date. It would literally take them 20 minutes to fill in the grout again. I'll never buy from them again. They don't care about backing up their work based on my experience. read more

I am extremely unhappy regarding the installation and overall service we experienced with the install from the Dayton, OH location. My husband took the three days off of work we were told would be needed to complete the job. On day one, no one called or showed until my husband called. He was told a crew wasn't available and was assured a larger crew would show on day two. TWO men showed up on day two and they arrived late. Today, day three, workers arrived at 7am and did not leave until 10pm. This sloppy and careless job clearly shows large glued seams, flooring that isn't even glued to the floor, missing quarter round, flooring that doesn't even fully cover the floor!!!! They "lost" the piece of carpet trim that bridged the wood laminate floor to the basement steps, creating a trip hazard. No excuse, I'm awaiting a reply on how they can rectify this fiasco. read more

We spent over $6,000 on carpet with Rite Rug. After 10 months of normal use, carpet looked like it was 5 years old. Filed warranty claim and was told this was "normal" and a result of matting/crushing. It took over 2 months from initial claim to get a response from Rite Rug, only after multiple phone calls and follow up on my end. Warranty claim was denied and rite rug refuses to help. We were told we could pay to have an independent licensed flooring inspector come out to counter the claim, how absurd. Awful experience, would spend money elsewhere on a better product from a flooring company willing to sell a product they stand by. Save your money! read more

I went to Rite Rug to purchase carpet for my living room. First a guy shows up who does not speak English. I sent him back. Then we set up a time, Will sends another guy who does not speak English. I was supposed to have 2 guys. Now we our on the third time. One walked around with his pants down below his butt. The other one rips the carpet up and tears my box off the wall. I have to go without TV and my computer and my camera. It took Will days to get someone from there office to call me. Leona turned out to be a jerk. I went six days with out my stuff. Now she does not want to do anything about it. The installer told Will he ripped out the box. But now Leona is lying saying that the installer never said that. This is the worst company ever. I will never buy carpet there and I will tell my friends not to purchase anything from them. I cannot stand people that LIE. read more

Claimed they had the next day scheduled. Which was today....so someone should be here right? Because they had time allotted to be here, but here we are again 6pm. No one is coming AGAIN. Thank god I didn't AGAIN take time off work. I have to just at this point laugh or I'll go nuts. So crazy that any company treats customers like this. I'm just shaking my head. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT USE RITE RUG for any flooring purchase. We have spent $6800 and are being held basically hostage trying to get them to complete their shoddy job. Next call in AM BBB. January 14, 2018 We bought carpet from Rite Rug Flooring located on 3575 Wyse Road in Dayton Ohio. We were waited on by the store manager Will Blythe. We carpeted whole house except for one bedroom. On January 23 & 24th, 2017 the carpet was laid. First day, I noticed inside the doorway of the bedroom we didn't get carpeted had a 12 by 5 section of the carpet missing? They must have laid their iron down on the carpet we weren't getting replaced, and burnt it. The installer was adamant that he didn't do it (helper?) The guy charged us $50.00 to fix their mistake!! Began noticing that my new white socks were pinkish?? Maybe a little dust in the roll of carpet from the warehouse? No big deal. Few months go by decide to clean my 5 area rugs that I do periodically. After hanging up the rugs I notice dark wet spots. I tried then to clean whole carpet.. No way, won't touch it! My living room carpet is covered with spots! I call Rite Rug and am connected to the store manager, William Blythe. I tell him my problem, he says, " No way is it anything to do with the dye in the carpet! " I say, " Then what can it be?", he says nastily " I don't know but it has nothing to with the dye!" I calmly say, "look I know some people like to, pull a fasty, and I know you have no reason to believe me, you can't believe we really want to have any more of the upheaval it takes to get carpet laid. the moving furniture and living through a nightmare, trying to work, having to take off the be there for installation, it's a mess!" He says well," You're going to have to call Monsanto the people who make the carpet and deal with them."He says, " This could take months of run around."He says "You can get their number on line. So I get the number on line and call Monsanto customer service and tell her my problem. She says madam " You'll have to call the store where you purchased , we don't deal with the public.' I said "He told me to talk to you." " No madam they take care of it" Again, I am connected to manager William Blythe. I tell him that customer service says that they don't deal with the public, to contact him. I repeat to him that, I don't want to bother him anymore than he wants bothered, and I'm not trying to rip Rite Rug off, I just want this taking care of. He tells me "he doesn't mind at all" in a sarcastic tone, " that he actually makes a lot of money, re-doing mistakes like this." Well, after all this unprofessional, sarcastic abuse I was put through I figure there's no way this guy is going to help us and I don't want to live with dark, maroon spots all over our living room. So I call Staley Steamer and they clean our carpet. My husband collects a sample of the water that they used to clean our carpet--it was maroon. Our carpet had specks of maroon. We kept a sample of the water. On July 14, 2017 A investigator from Monsanto comes to our house. We give her the water from Stanley Steamer and give her a piece of left over carpet. The company wants to know why we had the carpet cleaned. We figured after the store manager, William Blythe's rude and unprofessional abuse he's not going to do anything. We hoped that the carpet dye would clean up. The Monsanto investigator said, we did have a case. We decided to replace the living room, family room and hall. We told the investigator about the other installers charging us for their unadmited mistake, and please send a different crew. On August 23, 2017 Different installers come to lay the carpet. Immediately, they begin asking "Where's the tape?" Usually, when new carpet is laid they put tape on the seams so over time as the carpet shifts the seams stay together. The other guy didn't put the appropriate amount of tape down, or replace the worn nail bar. The carpet layer said without nail bar put down there would be no adhesion. Great, so not only did the other layer burn our other carpet, he didn't put down the appropriate amount of tape to keep carpet from shifting or replace worn nail bar! In closing, I would buy Monsanto carpet again, but not from Rite Rug Flooring at 3575 Wyse Road in Dayton, Ohio. I also would suggest they get a new store manager and fire the first carpet crew they sent to our house. read more

Flooring was installed improperly.. Poor job, and botched installation. Store manager lied to cover his job, there's no such thing as customer service from their Columbus headquarters.. The company does its best to screw the customer out of every penny they can. Our bank has pulled the payment back from them. We had independent Flooring experts come out and they inspected the floor. their summary was installers completely installed flooring against the flooring companys directions. Rite rug store manager refused to come out and look at it. Customer service refuses to answer calls or emails. Complain filed with B.B.B. they have over 110 complaints. Please stay away from them, they lie, the products they sell are second rate for the dollars they charge. read more

Sales aspect of our experience at Rite Rug was fine. Our rating is based on the installation which has been a horrible experience and is yet to be resolved. (and I paid over 800 bucks for a living room and master bedroom install) Moments after installers left, it was discovered that there were 2 transition areas that were not even attached. And there was a very large "bubble" left at another transition. Carpet, which is Anso Nylon was also NOT power stretched. Called our sales guy who said I had to deal with customer service. Called CS and they took the info and said someone would call to schedule a time to repair. Never go the call. I called, got it scheduled. Installers did not call before coming, so my contractor was not here yet, only some other workers not related to carpet. Installers (who were the same ones who didn't put it in right the first time) were apparently in and out in under 15 min. When I get home, I see that bubble remains and carpet was not stretched because installers "do not own a power stretcher". They send an inspector over (after 2 follow up calls from me) who says that carpet should have been power stretched and the bubble occurred because "they probably ran out of shims". She says she will call me to set up a time to have new installers come and power stretch and fix bubble. 2 days later, still have not heard from her. I called to follow up. They said they would have someone call me right back, but then sent me to voicemail. I left a message and asked to be called back ASAP. 36 hours later, still waiting. This has been a very frustrating experience and I would like to save others of you from experiencing the same thing. They have now earned the name "Wrong Rug" in my book. read more
