Joe did my tattoo and it is by far the best ink I have ever gotten. I was blown away with the artwork I was blessed with. I emailed this studio via their website, and explained my vision for what I wanted with my tattoo. I wanted a blue ribbon, with the words "Rectal Cancer Survivor" around it. I said I was willing to have the artist come up with a rendition of what I was describing. They told me they had booked me an appointment for the day I specified, with a certain artist. The day of the appointment came, and I headed in. When I got there and told them I had an appointment with that artist, they told me he wasn't in that day. They said they had another artist available, so I agreed to see him. Of course, he had no clue what design I had talked about in my previous email conversations. I described it to him, and he went off to create a design. After a little tweaking, I agreed to the design he had come up with. As he was about to put the stencil on my arm, he asked me if I was sure I wanted "that word" tattooed on me. I said yes. He put the stencil on, then asked me again. I again, said yes. He asked me a third time right as he had the tattoo machine poised over my skin. For a third time, I said yes. I don't think he would have asked me that question so many times if I had been a breast cancer survivor. My cancer happened to grow in my rectum, I can't help that, I didn't choose it. It is a body part, like any other. One of the reasons I wanted the tattoo was to help normalize the word rectum, and start conversations about colorectal cancer. It was like he was trying to make me feel dirty for having "that word" tattooed on my body where people could see it. For what it is worth, I like my tattoo. And it really has started conversations about colorectal cancer.

I texted her the morning of my appointment and she literally said "I was meaning to text you but I have to reschedule our appointment I'm sick" keep in mind I'm already ready, I'm about to head over there and she hit me with that. I was so angry because I had already sent my $175 deposit. Keep in mind before I sent my deposit she NEVER mentioned anything about a non refundable deposit. I never signed anything. So I was basically forced to make an appointment with her. Keep in mind also this was going on for 3 months. Within those 3 months she would ignore me every single time I texted her about an opening or any available appointments she has. I WOULD ALWAYS HAVE TO TEXT HER FIRST. She would neverrrr text me first at all. She left me on read every single time I messaged her. I have proof , I have screenshots and everything. I would have to tag her in posts on Facebook in order for her to text me back. And she wonders why I had an attitude with her and why I was so angry... ma'am you ignored me for 3 months straight putting me at the bottom of you priority list EVEN THO SHE CANCELLED ON ME. So I don't understand why she'd expect me to be so happy texting her. All this could've been avoided if she literally sent me back my 175 deposit back. She sent me back 125 which I'm glad she did at least it's some of my money back but she refused to send me that other $50 cause supposedly it's the time she took to draw out my picture even tho she NEVER showed me any type of sketch of my tattoo even before we started going back and forth and she still refused to show me proof of my sketch so that's how I know she's a LIAR AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOESNT DESERVE TO CALL HERSELF A TATTOO ARTIST. NEVER have an ear piercing at Claires. I recently had my ears pierced at Claires in Walmart on…read moreHanes Mill Rd. in Winston Salem, NC. The person who did the piercing botched it, requiring me to see my doctor. I subsequently had the piercing done by a licensed piercing shop. When I asked Claires for my money back, they refused because I did not have a photo of the botched piercing. Claires never informed me beforehand that I would need a photo to document their mistake. This store is a complete scam and should be completely avoided by all consumers. If I could give it negative stars I would.
