My family and I enjoyed staying here and plan to again but I imagine that people will either love…read moreit or hate it with no where in between. I have stayed in a lot of mountain cabins. The roads to some of them were so poor quality, narrow, and incredibly steep that I decided if I made it to the top I wouldn't drive back down until I left. It is on obviously rural mountain roads but I would feel completely comfortable on them even in the winter. Even though the website does say that bedrooms two and three are the second and third floor lofts it's easily overlooked which had happened to at least one reviewer. There are a couple of reasons that might make you either love it or hate it. If you have AT&T cell phone service, and possibly others, reception ends about half a mile before the cabin. However you can get reception outside of your car or the cabin. There are three porches so you don't have to go far for a signal but if you absolutely can't disconnect from the world then you might not like it. If you have a different carrier you might not have a problem. As for me and my family, we were looking for a place to get away and relax and the only people we would want to be able to reach us were here, so it wasn't a problem. Another thing that you might either love or hate is the Wi-Fi which is listed as an amenity. We'd read the reviews on the website saying it didn't work. I'm a former computer engineer so I thought I might be able to fix it or at least diagnose the problem. I can't prove my diagnosis because I can't gain physical access to the equipment but I believe there are two problems with it. The first is that I believe the Wi-Fi router is located in the cabin next door and not in this one and it has a very weak signal that does cut out at times. The second is that I believe it is only a slow DSL connection. The best speed I was ever able to get was 1 Mbps. That's definitely not enough to watch any streaming video like YouTube or Netflix which I believe some reviewers complained about. I had brought my laptop but never had a need or want to use it. I was able to use my iPad and iPhone to browse websites and use most of my apps without too much trouble. My family had come prepared to not have Internet access. We brought toys, games, fishing equipment, life jackets to use with the canoe they provide (they also provide life jackets but I brought my own to make sure I had the right size for the kids), DVDs and a player, books to read, books to color in, ingredients to make s'mores over a campfire, etc. But if you can't live without reliable high speed internet then this place won't work for you. The only other thing I can think of that you might either love or hate is there is no dishwasher. It did kind of surprise me that there wasn't one in a nice place like this but we just brought paper plates and plastic cups and cutlery. (My family is normally very environmental. I even drive an electric car, but nobody wants to spend their vacation washing dishes which wastes water. Sometimes you have to choose one negative environmental impact or another. This time paper and plastic lost to water.) One thing that is usually the same at every cabin or condo I rent is they advertise a kitchen "perfect for dining" but rarely have enough cooking utensils or they have practically been destroyed by previous guests. I've seen much worse but I was glad that I had brought my own spatula, slotted spoon, and can opener. When looking for a vacation destination my family selected this place because we wanted a somewhat remote cabin that was big enough for our entire family of eight, had fun things we could do there, and fun things to do nearby. DeSoto Falls, part of DeSoto State Park on Lookout Mountain is only about two miles away. Little River Canyon National Preserve (Park) with three other waterfalls and a 23 mile scenic trail is only about 15 miles away. If you have the time and don't mind driving a little further, Russell Cave National Monument (Park) is only about 30 miles away. We had so much fun at the cabin that we only went to DeSoto Falls and Little River Falls for a short time one afternoon.

Four major airports: Birmingham, Huntsville, Atlanta, and Chattanooga are all within 90 minutes. We flew into Birmingham and spent four restful nights with our lovely hosts. My stay at Studios on 25th was my first vacation rental where there would be no check in upon…read morearrival. I was given a code and instructions through email. There were a lot of instructions but it was very clear what was needed and it was rather an easy process. It was a little weird emailing a selfie of myself but fine if that was all they needed for proof of who I was and that we had checked in. The room/apartment was amazing. It felt like a home and large enough to feel comfortable. We used the kitchen and dining area as we were there a few days. Everything was available from plates and cups to sponges and dish soap. However, there were only bath samples enough for one use so if you are planning on staying more than one night then bring your own shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion. The white towel situation is very strict so if you don't want to be charged for soiling the linens in any way, bring your own towels. The location is central and private parking is available right in front of your apartment unit. I never heard any noise from neighbors and we were required to take out our own trash since it was basically an apartment complex. I had no issues with any of the rules and would gladly stay here again. We really loved it and it was way cheaper than any of the hotels in downtown Atlanta.

While the "bedroom/living room" portion was updated, I was surprised to learn that the kitchen and especially bathroom were not. I don't feel like anyone should be surprised when it comes to a purchase, so this review is accompanied by actual pictures of the Studios on 25th (standard) located at 47 25th Street Northwest in Atlanta. TIPS: -Be prepared for TONS OF TRAFFIC at this location (not the hotel's fault) -Bring your own towels and toiletries. You'll arrive and find two bath towels, and two hand towels. There are palm-sized containers of a shampoo, conditioner, and body soap -- good for one use only. -There is no on-sight front desk, so check in will require you to take photos of the following and submit them online to complete your virtual check-in experience: Picture of self holding your DL, Picture of your credit card that you used to book, and picture of the credit card you'd like to use for damages -Speaking of damages, while I was not charged for anything extra, please be very careful. There are lots of rules, including warnings about soiling their towels, or throwing away empty cleaning supply bottles. There is a minimum damages fee if any damages are assessed, so just read all the fine print. And don't forget to take your garbage out at the end of your stay! That's part of your check out list. By the way, the minute I stepped into the room and realized it was nothing like the pictures, I immediately contacted management. They advised me that I booked the **standard** room, so I was in the right place. It's just too bad that the pictures advertising the place did not match up to the actual room. Anyway, it's not a bad place, but since this trip was a graduation present for my daughter, I was sort of embarrassed at the accommodations I'd unwittingly chosen. I don't know why there are no photos available of the standard studio, especially the bathroom. Anyway, I've included them so future potential guests can be truly informed before making a decision. If you just need a clean, quiet place to rest your head and you hate hotels, this might work for you. EDIT: In response to the owners notes below, I would add that (1) The room was well over $100 a night. I stayed three nights and paid $451 with tax. It is currently advertised on booking.com for $126 a night for the standard room. (2)The pictures I've posted are of the actual room I stayed in. I did not do any sort of photo magic or editing. That's the room I had. What about the pictures is inaccurate?The bathroom has not been renovated since the 60's. It could be upgraded using vintage styled finishes if one was truly going for a vintage look and there would be no need to tear the building down to renovate the bathroom. The way it is now, some choose to call it "vintage", I call it old and outdated. It needs way more than some caulking. (3) The one star review reflects the bait/switch tactics that made me feel like I'd been fooled. The pictures on booking.com are, at the very least, misleading. The photos of the upgraded units are mixed in with the standard units, and not one advertising picture *accurately* depicts the bathroom. Yes, the unit is quiet, clean, and a unique departure from the standard hotel. However, the consumer has the right to know the whole story. For some people, even with the un-renovated bathroom, the unit would be fine. The goal of my review was simply to make potential guests fully aware of all aspects of the room. (4) This company has a few properties in the area. Not only that, but they have normal, updated studios in the very building I stayed in. I imagine the good reviews are from people who've had the benefit of better accommodations than I had.

These are things the mother of the bride should not be stressing over and doing the morning of her daughter's wedding. Especially when I paid $2,400 for owner/wedding planner of her venue to make sure everything went seamless! We made the best of the day, but it was not the experience we had hoped for!! You want your daughter's special day to be everything she had hoped and dreamed of!! Not for her to say every time she speaks of her wedding. "looking back I wish we would have picked a different venue"! If this was my venue, the flower pots would not be bare and brown, clear umbrellas would be there for use if necessary, and a tent would be available for the bride to rent in the event of rain.

In the morning we went up for a fantastic breakfast and some wonderful conversation with the others who are staying here. While it is only open to transplant patients by reservation only, the staff are more than accommodating to try and fit my needs (and those of my caregiver).The staff are excellent, the grounds (on the Claremont Campus of Emory University) are beautiful, and the home itself is extraordinary. 10/10 will return here if I need to stay longer than overnight for appointments, lab work, etc.
