Scheduled an appointment here for my daughter who never wants a haircut...she has very long hair and doesn't want to lose any length however it really needed a good trim to remove the dead ends. The receptionist was pleasant when I booked the appointment, when we came in and when we checked out. The stylist was Cherri and she did a great job of making my girl comfortable and did exactly what was asked of her. Only negative with her was the high pressure product sale, I think she meant well but it's uncomfortable... $25 for a haircut is a good price yet it does not include shampoo and style. If you want that surely it will cost more though not sure how much. All in all a good experience. read more

I've been going to the Ritz salon on & off since I was 12 years old (nearly 20 years). The staff is welcoming, friendly, and my family loves them! That makes it very difficult to write a poor review. Up until my last appointment I've had all great experiences and would highly recommend the salon. So it breaks my heart to have a drastic change of opinion. I'm a very fair person. If something doesn't turn out the way it's suppose to... that's genuinely okay; however, make it right. Because nothing was done to rectify what I considered a botched job I can no longer recommend this salon. I provided pictures of the look that I was seeking a month in advance when booking the color appointment, not only did we not achieve that look the stylist chopped CHUNKS of my hair out about an inch from the scalp without even asking me each time saying "don't freak out". Additionally, i didn't even want a trim let alone huge 1-2 inches in width chunks removed from my hair- not sure if it was related to foul coloring or what the rationale was behind this? She did this about 7 times and it will take me years to grow these sections of my hair back out. I wore a hat every time I left the house for over a month and am still in the process of trying to repair my hair (color & cut). I told the stylist the next day I was not happy with the results in addition to telling her at the appointment and sitting for 6 hours while she tried to "add a few more highlights to fix it". She apologized saying she did the best she could, no solutions were met, and I paid full price for a lot of heart ache, a lot of tears, and complete embarrassment. To be fair, I didn't actually get to keep my appointment here, so I can't judge their hair services. I can, however, tell you that their receptionist is awful. Take a seat in an overstuffed chair and sip your brandy, folks, because I'm about to tell you a tale of woe. It begins, appropriately, on a dark and stormy night. The traffic on the highway was stop and go, and I realized, with growing horror, that I might not make it to my hair appointment in time. Would half an hour be enough? I decided not to risk it, and quickly dialed the salon. "Ritz Salon," the receptionist said. "Hi, my name is Lydia, I have a 5:30 appointment with Jessica...," I began, but was quickly cut off. "No you don't. Jessica doesn't have an appointment tonight," she interjected. "I'm sorry, I requested her when I made the appointment, and that's who I was told the appointment was with," I explained. "No. Your appointment is with someone else. So why are you calling?" she snarled at me. "I just wanted to let you know I might be a few minutes late; traffic is slow because of the rain," I said, trying to soothe the beast. "Ugh... How late are you going to be," she demanded, clearly only seconds away from retribution. "Just a few minutes," I quickly said, "less than ten." "Well fine, just get here as soon as possible," she snapped. Forty minutes later, after a couple of false alarms on my GPS, I know that I'm on the right road, but my GPS can't find the right location. Bravely, I call the salon again. "Ritz Salon," came the now-familiar grumble. "Hi, I spoke with you earlier, and I'm having trouble finding your building. I'm on 20, almost near the high school," I lamented. "You've already driven past us. At this point you just need to reschedule. She's not even going to have enough time to do your hair," the dragon-lady said curtly. So after driving for over forty minutes and paying a $3 toll, I had my appointment cancelled on me while I was just outside the salon. Let this be a lesson, boys and girls: ten minutes can make or break your appointment with Ritz Salon. They don't mess around. read more

I went in to get some highlights done and I had super dark hair and Tanya did a good job of making them even and natural. The only issue I had was how much Tanya man handled my head. Instead of brushing my wet hair out starting from the ends she would use a fine toothed comb to separate the small pieces to be bleached and she would run the fine toothed comb through it ripping out most of the small bits of hair she had separated. That was not the worst of it, when we went to the sink to wash out the bleach, instead of unraveling the foils she just ripped them out of my head, taking most of my hair with it, that was the most pain I have ever experienced in my life. Also when she shampooed my head she pushed the back left side of my head against the sink. I might go back but I will definitely get someone else next time. read more

I love this salon. It is hands down the best in town. Stephanie is my hairdresser and she does an amazing job! She is very professional and she really knows what she is doing. I have been to many other hair salons around town and every where has messed up my hair, so I always end up getting Stephanie to fix it. They are not over priced for haircuts at all. I have not had any color here but i have seen many being done. I would recommend this place over any other in the Niceville area!! read more

Amy did an awesome job with my hair! To be honest, this is mostly a positive review of Amy. I've had my hair cut at Ritz twice now. The first time was not a pleasant experience (the stylist was kinda rude, and I wasn't super happy with the cut), but this second time was a redemption. I made sure that I had a different stylist than the first and I am very satisfied. Not only was Amy incredibly skilled (my hair looks fabulous), but she was pleasant to talk with, super nice, and very professional. read more

I have only seen Sandy, the nail technician. She is EXCELLENT! Does stellar work and is always friendly and professional. To be fair, I have not seen any of the stylists and most receptionists I have encountered there have been professional although not very friendly. WHY the low rating you ask?! I recently encountered a lady @ the front desk who was surly, rude and totally unprofessional. She made no attempt to assist me to schedule and appt. an basically ignored me as though I was a bother! I have never been treated so disrespectfully @ a salon as I was on that day @ the Ritz Salon. read more

Came to the salon at 6:37pm and pulled the door and it was locked. I looked at the sign in the window and it clearly said TUES closes at 7:00pm. An older lady came to the door and asked if I wanted to buy something because they were closed for hair cuts and I was like ok and thought to myself that all the stylists must have someone at their booths. I sat there for a few minutes trying to locate another hair place and the whole time I was looking there were 3 ladies standing at the counter just chatting. I thought to myself, I guess my rationale that they all had people in their chairs was wrong. All in all this was the second attempt at getting a hair cut at this place and the first time the lady did a horrible job(I mean terrible, and that's the truth)! And my second time they turn me away(laziness?) and did not honor the hours of operation in their own window! Being military who moved to Niceville from out of town, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR A HAIRCUT!!!!!! read more
