We lived on bratwurst, beer, bread, and sauerkraut -- our fav orders (mainly because it was all we could safely order). Female patrons would hoist us off out feet to polka with them on the nights the oompah bands would play, and we hardly had enough time to have a bit of our beer (the full glasses were multiplying at our place at the table) -- and we had lively exchanges of trying to teach each other a bit of our language.
