Went to Riva for an estimate on two small bath vanity countertops and was told they would email an estimate in a few days. Two weeks later I called and was told that they were very busy but I was "in the queue". A month and a half later still nothing. I contacted a small er fabricator and had an estimate the same day. If Riva doesn't want to do a job they should tell you up front instead of ghosting you. Time is money even for the little guy. By being dishonest and unprofessional they cost me both. I would give Riva 10 stars if I could! An absolutely fantastic company from start to finish. We replaced Corian countertop in the kitchen with Granite. After going to a local company and being told they couldn't do it for 3 months, we went down to Riva. Best decision EVER!!! We were greeted by Angela & after discussion she told us to walk around the yard to see if we saw anything we liked. Luckily I brought a cabinet door with me and within a few minutes I found what I wanted. Angela then contacted her suppliers and found slabs at Bedrosians in San Jose (also an amazing company). A few days later I went there to select the slabs. From start to finish it was about 5 weeks! Riva is a fantastic company and a company is only as good as the people that work there. Our gratitude & thanks goes to Mark (the owner) Angela, Dario, Peter, Mike, Ricardo, Paco, Carlos & the great guys that came on install day to carry a 400lb slab up stairs & around a corner!!! I hired Riva Marble & Granite to fabricate & install a granite counter in a kitchen that was being completely remodeled. We didn't have the new sink mounted as requested when they came to measure. They said okay, we'll be installing the new counters next week and we'll measure then. They came today and didn't just measure the sink counter and install the other counter tops. They installed all the granite because they were able to measure the sink counter and fabricate that piece on site! The kitchen is gorgeous. I had a linear crack in my granite slab adjacent to the kitchen sink. Rinaldi came out about 1 1/2 years ago and repaired it. The crack has since gotten bigger and I called Riva. They came out and promptly and repaired it. I watched the process and there is no comparison. Riva was much more thorough and involved. They did a great job! read more

We needed marble cut to facilitate a new sink in our guest bathroom. We called and were extremely lucky the driver was in the area. Within 30 minutes they arrived. 45 minutes later they were finished. Two very polite, nice guys. Extra care to minimize the horrific dust generated by marble cutting, they went way over my expectation for taking their time to not make a mess. My need was slightly unique. I needed a 500# concrete counter and #250 concrete farm sink placed. This BUDGET kitchen remodel using recycled (then customized) kitchen cabinets and older (heavier) display model concrete island counter and sink was not a clean and simple job. But Riva Marble and Granite was willing to do the install - w/o the benefit of their materials being purchased. That was the HUGE first step. I tried three custom concrete business and they were unwilling to bother or DOUBLE the price. And while the crew sent had never done concrete install and paused at the size and weight, they stepped up and did it. Great job, despite my cabinet and counter were not a perfect fit. They shimmed it up and made it work. Lastly, my biggest worry, was drilling for the faucet; worrying about the rebar in the old style concrete. No problem, again, whew! If I need to remodel at my next house - I will call Riva! read more

We're remodeling our bathroom and needed shelves made of marble, stone, or granite to coordinate with our tub/shower and floor tile. We were warmly greeted by Angela who took the time and care to help us with this fairly small project, and answer our myriad questions. She was extremely knowledgeable about the materials, edging, and techniques to be used to ensure the water drained. Angela set our expectations, and was efficient and helpful. We couldn't have been more pleased. Riva has a wonderful selection of products. Because of Angela, we'll be back when we remodel our kitchen. It is with great regret that my only negative review after a bathroom remodel is with Riva Marble and Granite. While I am extremely happy with the counter-top product (Ice Stone), I was not happy with the fabricator/installer. Essentially when a faucet hole doesn't line up, when gouges are left in your walls (without comment) and when the measuring appointment doesn't seem to have been utilized properly, one would expect a little accountability. Eight days and three prompts later, the owner finally responded to my concerns without any responsibility at all. If you want Ice Stone installed, find somebody in the San Jose area ...if you want marble or granite, hire one of the many other companies in the area as the customer service and respect granted is lacking from Riva. read more

I went to Riva seeking stone for our bathroom remodel. They have an extensive selection of large slabs and remnants. With supernatural patience, Dario showed me possible options. He was incredibly helpful and kind. My husband and I searched for stone at several granite shops in San Jose, and no one had taken such generous time and care to help us find what we wanted. At Riva I saw a quartzite I loved, but it had already been purchased by someone else. Angela solved the problem, by finding me a remnant of the same beautiful stone, just big enough for my counter, and she found another to beautifully match for the backsplash. Mark gave us an excellent price for fabrication, and came to measure the bathroom vanity to make a perfect fit.
