How about that for low impact :) The decor and conversation is exactly what you'd expect from a neighborhood barber shop. Love this place! With all the other places I tried, I would more often be waiting for it to grow out some before being satisfied or not liking it at all or needing to trim something up on my own when I get back home.

I started going to Kim in High School, you know that time when you grow out of your mom cutting your hair, and stayed through most of college After I graduated I moved to the South Shore, and have been looking for a good barber in this area. Here are the cliff notes: Shop in Quincy: Requested zero to the whole head, doesn't do a second pass and leaves lots of little hairs that drove me berzerk until it grew in. Shop in Weymouth: I spent 30 minutes extra in the chair because apparently "two one top, one on the sides" is open to a lot of interpretation. I know what I want, thank you very much. That's it, no more searching and getting terrible overpriced haircuts. Here's what I love about Kim: + She's no frills. If you ask for a "two one top, one on the sides" that's what you get. If you are looking for styling/guidance you can get that too, certainly. + She takes pride in her work. No stray hairs left behind like that Quincy shop. You get 100% what you ask for, not 95%. + She's fast (and still accurate). You won't be sitting in that chair longer than you have to, and likewise lines move fast. + Her rates are extremely reasonable. + She's wicked nice! Need I say more? During my first visit to Supercuts, I was so nervous, I completely insulted the hair stylist when I asked her not to "chop" it. I guess the snobbery accidentally spilled over. Thankfully, she did not take it out on my hair, and I was very pleasantly surprised. The haircut I got there was practically as good as Newbury St., and only $13.95 (using my $1 web coupon). I've been going to Supercuts now for 5 years, and have only had one below average experience. I quickly learned who I could trust, and to ask for that person by name. There is a fairly high turn-over rate, so I've created a list of 2-3 hair stylist I like. I also often opt for the wash & cut for $16.95 (using my $1 web coupon), because I feel they can do a better job when my hair is clean, conditioned, and wet.
