The ticket prices are slightly lower than the cinemas in Swansea - but it's still not a cheap day out for a family. The whole of the Aberavon seafront is under redevelopment, and it's actually quite a nice area to visit. If you fancy a walk either before or after the film, the promenade is flat, and easily accessible for the disabled.

The museum is a somewhat disjointed affair, taking in all kinds of themes, transport, industry, technology, culture and history. When we visited, a lot of the 'hands-on' exhibits for kids were out of order or simply not working. The building itself is fabulous, obviously a lot of money has been spent, but it just didn't do it for us. Maybe we're just spoiled or something.

I'm not really a massive fan of bingo, but I've been to this place a couple of times and have had pretty nice evenings out, if I have to admit it (which I guess I do, really!). I went to Briton Ferry Workmens Club this evening around 7pm with my husband and son. We went into…read morethe bar and my husband and myself ordered a round of drinks while my son set up the pool table for him and his father to play. We paid for our drinks and sat down by the pool table. The Steward, who had allowed us to order and pay for the drinks then came over to me to tell me that women are not allowed in the bar, but I could go and sit in the darts room if I liked!!! How antiquated.... I find it unbelievable that in this day and age women are effectively barred from sections of Briton Ferry Workmens Club, and feel that the fact that I was allowed to order and pay for drinks gave me the right to be there. My advice would be to drink somewhere else - somewhere that doesn't discriminate in this way. It's little wonder that these clubs are dying out slowly but surely. I have awarded it one star only because it will not allow me to leave the field blank.
