I had a very negative experience with River City. Poor quality. Can never reach River City by phone, email or the web site. Once you pay, you will not be able to have any contact with them. River City made a half-heart attempt to serve the person they were paid to serve, but did not serve. The web site is a one way communication set-up for River City to get paid for service not rendered. There's no two-way communication to know what's going on with your case. This is in response to your comments below. The person you were to serve is my neighbor and I live right next to him for the past 10 years. I gave you correct explicit instructions that you did not follow and failed. I told you he lived with his brother. You never called even once to explain the situation. I called your office multiple times that afternoon and your office was not closed and you never once responded by email, text or phone call. My information that I give you was accurate and followed the legal requirements. Your web site is not user friendly. It's only a one-way communication. I paid you $112.27 for an unsuccessful job. You did not try hard enough and only once. It's easy scam for you. You get paid whether or serve or not. You did a lousy job and you know it. read more

I used his website to initiate a court case, but it was rejected, with the explanation that I needed to submit an SC-100 form. This is my first time filing a lawsuit, and there was no mention of the SC-100 form on the website when I submitted my request. I called him to clarify the issue, and he kindly explained that I need to complete the SC-100 form myself, either by creating a PDF or scanning it. However, when I created the PDF, my text was going through the lines on the SC-100, and I mentioned that I didn't know how to scan it. He offered to scan and check the document for a $40 fee, but explained that he didn't have time to walk me through the process over the phone due to the low filing fee. I left a message about an hour later asking for his address and confirming that I would pay the $40 fee to bring the documents in for scanning. I felt bad for taking up his time. It was around 4 p.m. when I called, but as of 10:41 a.m. the next day, I haven't received a response, email, or callback. While he took the time to explain the process, I was frustrated by the lack of follow-up and slow response time. If you're new to filing a lawsuit, I wouldn't recommend using his portal or relying on him for support, as communication seems lacking. Although he provided helpful information over the phone, it felt like he wasn't eager to assist someone unfamiliar with the process. I understand he is likely busy, but for those new to lawsuits, I'd suggest seeking a provider who has more time to guide you through the process. I give him 2 stars for his initial explanation, but the communication could be greatly improved. follow up: I never received a response by email or phone, but he found the time to respond here. Well, I ended up completing the entire process in less than 30 minutes on another website. For the SC-100, I used pdfsimpli, which allowed me to add an electronic signature, save the document as a PDF, and send it directly to the courthouse using journal technologies court portal and my case is now accepted. I didn't need a scanner to create or sign the file like he explained. He could of told me I could use websites for less then 2 dollars to get an electronic signature so I could complete the process at home, but this was never mentioned by John. read more

I was charged $110 for them to call my ex husband once and leave a voicemail. They didn't attempt a second phone call or visit the meeting address that was provided. If they couldn't serve him successfully, I would need documentation showing effort was made so I could request a publication.. Update: I was never contacted and told anything was placed on hold. They never sent me any emails or tried to contact me for any updates. I sent the business an email last night in addition to leaving this review. Everything I wrote was completely professional and I just wanted to express my discontent with the poor service I received at River City Processing. I was told there would be attempts to serve and was not told that making one phone call and leaving a voicemail would constitute an attempt. I give up with this company. I was able to have my defendant served but not by this company. As a reminder, this company charged me $150 for attempted service of two documents to the SAME address but the documents were NEVER served. Since I was able to have the defendant served, I asked River City to file my proof of personal service (to save me a trip to the courthouse that I've already had to visit three times for continuances because River City was unable to provide service) and RC has requested an additional $50 to file proof of personal service. So I'm doing the math and that means RC would receive $200 from me for essentially walking across the street to the courthouse to file one document. Wow! I need to get into the process service business! Not the best experience...again, maybe for run-of-the-mill court paperwork, but for the everyday person, a little more is needed. They kept serving his home - 3 times in the middle of the day. When I hadn't heard back from them I called and was told he had been served and they had filed the Proof of Service with the court.
