I submitted a form online late Saturday night, then started receiving calls from them Sunday morning at 7:20am. From there I received a call exactly every 2 hours on the dot until 7:20pm. At first I wasn't trying to ignore them, it was just a busy Sunday morning with my family. Then by call #3 I started to find it odd. I finally answered when they started up again on Monday @ 7:40am. I said that calling 7x in a day especially on a Sunday was excessive and I wouldn't be moving forward.. then what? They hung up.. not a word. Honestly, I could have easily been won back. We're in need of these services, but if this is how they try to land a "sale" I can't imagine what happens later. Disappointing.

It's what my loved one's roommate told us today as this is our first visit there - this place "is where people go in a last ditch effort to exist." Its legal business name is listed as Uvalde County Hospital Authority, which is also the owner, according to the medicare.gov website. In front of the facility it a sign on a brick background states Rentama Manor Nursing Center. It clearly, as my grandparents would say, the equivalent of a spit shine shoe polish. Once you go inside, you can tell it was given a 1 layer once over with the cheapest paint possible to give it the appearance of a decent place. The floors are so dirty that if your not wearing the right shoes, you can easily slip and fall. It is, imo, not fit for any living creature. If you don't know your warning signs about a bad place here's a few. 1) if it doesn't smell like a hospital it might not be as sanitary as you think. 2) well taken care of residents are happy. Here no one but the occasional staff member will greet you with a smile & a hello. 3) its evident that if your here and can't care for yourself, your chances of being tended in a timely manner are slim. 4) its not being well maintained - paint is thin & peeling in some areas, floors are dirty, hinges are rusty, the foundation shows signs of moving going by the cracks in the corners where separation is happening and a lousy job was done trying to cover it up. If it weren't for our own health problems, we'd have been there sooner to prevent our loved one being placed here but we weren't appointed power of attorney or guardian. To look up this and other nursing homes/rehabs go to www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare. Please note it has gone by the name Tobin Hill Nursing & Rehab Center LLC. It has 2 people per small rooms especially for those with wheelchairs. There is 1 bathroom between 2 rooms that the 4 patients must share. According to the medicare website, it is a 118 room facility. There are nice nursing staff here that are overworked. Weekends the facility has a skeleton crew. UPDATE They have a horrible nurse that loves to spread gossipy lies about patients with the other patients. Lies of any kind can spread fear, panic & could incite violence of some kind. That kind of behavior is UNprofessional, inhumane & patient info of any kind SHOULD BE CONFIDENTIAL!!!!

She's a shady and seedy person that only cares about money. She hires incompetent people who just want a roof over their head and food but doesn't want to care for your love one. My father developed pneumonia in one her homes that she would not provide heat in. And was served top ramen and 7-11 pizza and did not get 24 hour care. We have text messages from the caregiver telling us she will not call 911 after us asking her to do so since we live in California. My father died of pneumonia after 45 days in her care.
