One of the spots where everyone knows everyone to the point where you can trust your kids to run around and play and not wake up kidnapped. I went for a Level Up up event that was held Rev. Bernard's youth center by Pastor Lamar and First Lady Tiffany of Unity Church around the corner. It was an amazing event well put together. I honestly cannot wait to get over and visit again.

The church is historic in nature & is included in a historic tour in this area. Pastor Steve can readily rattle off the history at the drop of a hat. Additionally, there's a Christian Nursery attached to the church, one accepts children from the community at large. They have regular sunday worship service & wednesday night bible study. I always have a blessed time at this church.

Rather, he speaks on special occasions. The worship & praise was great; the sermon was good and the congregation members were warm. It's not a church for someone looking for church as usual. As Pastor Nathanael says " we want encounters with God". Amen. I absolutely do. Reverends Jesse and Cathy Duplantis founded the church on the campus of their international headquarters. The Duplantis's do speak at the church periodically but do not pastor the church. You would need to check the schedule if you are interested in hearing them speak. If you are looking for a church that is seeking God, preaches The Word and expects the supernatural ,this is a great church. It is not just a Sunday feel good experience, this church is about change. I drive from New Orleans to attend this church because I believe I am growing spiritually and I believe the pastors walk the walk.

This little church was great for a celebration of life…read more I debated writing this review, but sometimes writing can be cathartic, so here I am. Last week a friend of mine died suddenly. I like to think that people I care about know how I feel, but when someone dies like that, you're always left with that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach. Left wondering what he thought of at the end, if anything, or did he know the impact he had? Unfortunately I will never really know those things. What does that have to do with this little church located off of I-10 in LaPlace? This is where the celebration of my friend's life was held. They did a great job and I hope they don't mind me writing about it. No one likes to go to funerals. But going to funerals is part of adulting no matter how uncomfortable it makes you feel. For this service everyone in attendance was made to feel welcome. While the service was very similar to a Catholic Mass, the format was slightly different. One thing that was unique was that the celebrant asked those in attendance if they wanted to speak. It wasn't easy, but the way she asked made me feel more at ease. Sharing those stories of the good times we had and what he meant was very comforting to me. The family seemed to be thankful as well and I hope I gave them some insight to what their family member meant to those around him. Anyway, that is enough sharing for today.
