    Apples for deer
    Ruthie W.

I've stopped her for many of their deals and today we were back. 15 dozen medium eggs for $25. I thought of the deer too with a huge box of apples. Then a watermelon for us. It's a bit of drive for us but sometimes the deal is worth it. I want to come back for their fruit baskets. Would make great gifts!

Heads up, this company offers bundles of fruits/veggies at amazing rates especially compared to the store. They have signs saying "all sales final" and have the employee give you 5 secs to "check your products" before you drive away. I got an entire tray (like 15 cucumbers maybe) and ALL OF THEM HAD MOLD. I'm not saying not to buy from here, I AM SAYING to make them wait and check every item or else is just isn't even worth it. They credited me back $2.50 for my molded cucumbers and said it's my fault. Truly, I can't believe they get to sell these kinds of products at all. Be careful with what you buy, we all know how tight money is tight now so don't go try to save a buck to lose it. Also adding, now that we've opened the strawberries (bought 2 trays) none show mold but more than half of each "carton" is so soft I'll be using them for jelly instead of just to eat. Sad, I thought I'd be able to enjoy this. Also with the service was better. Again, I could see denying me if I was complaining about 2 or 3 cucumbers. But EVERY SINGLE ONE in a bag was bad and this is my fault?! You shouldn't be selling this at all.

I'm pretty sure all of us are feeling inflation at the grocery store. My kids go through a ton of fruit and I started researching options for fresh affordable fruit and came across River City Produce. Family owned and operated with roots in wholesale fruit sales, River City offers fresh, affordable bulk options. The process to order is very efficient. There is a line up area outside and they bring you a clipboard with a sheet to mark off what you want. There are stars next to the items that are available that day. Once you fill that out they take the clipboard and prepare the order. If you follow them online they also have deals of the day. I bought a whole tray of tomatoes on the vine for $5, 24 clamshells of organic blackberries for $10, and a case of apples for $20. Once the order is ready they call your name and it's either cash or card. Then they have convenient carts to take it to the car. I saw options for giant bags of rice, dry beans, and a few in season vegetables. Items change daily based on the season so keep an open mind. Currently open Mon to Fri 7AM to 3PM and Sat 8AM to 1PM.

River City Produce is defiantly the place to hit up if you are looking to purchase in bulk... and that is exactly what we did! My husband is on the waiting list for a liver transplant so we were considering different types of fundraisers. One of them was stepping up our usual annual pickling cucumbers from our garden to actually making our spicy dill pickles on a larger scale for a fundraiser. We also purchased some onion, garlic, and dill too. Pickles were a hit and so was our experience at River City Produce!

I just started making chocolate covered strawberries for my small baking business and I heard about this place on Facebook. I went in this morning, and was welcomed by the staff, I had a wonderful experience everyone was curtious and friendly. Definitely coming back!

During the quarantine, they had an awesome operation set up. Easy drive thru where I felt completely safe and well taken care of. The selection was good and plenty for only $25! Thanks River City!!

    MOLD ON STRAWBERRIES

Went 2 days ago and ordered 3 cases of strawberries & 2 days later all of them are full of mold ... strawberries Are good in fridge 3-7 days , not okay at all. I make chocolate covered strawberries and I've thrown away about half of what I've bought from them. Will not be using them again.

To enter, walk up the ramp that's on the left side of this picture. Check their Facebook page for special deals.

This place is full of different vendors peddling eggs, fruits and vegetables. As you approach the gate, there is a guy who asks you what you're looking for. I had heard eggs were available so that's what I went for first. He directed me to Lozano's, which was to the left back part of the area. They were limiting each person to 60 eggs for $10 (carton of 30 eggs). They had potato (80 cents), carrots (30 cents), tomatoes (70 cents), and zucchini (80 cents) by the pound. Corn was 25 cents/ear. Avocados and celery were 50 cents each. I headed to Solano Produce to see what they had and I saw that they were selling eggs. 15 dozens for $48. An angel helped me and told me that he had bought 15 dozens for $40. I drove to the left side 13 and 14 where Bluebird Produce is. They had eggs but had to wait. I asked if they had fruits and they gave me a box. There was a cooler full of various fruits and vegetables. Fill the box up and weigh the whole thing. Fruits were limited to apples and oranges. They had lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, avocados, yellow pepper and so much more. My box weighed 26 pounds and they charged $25. The eggs went from $40 to $45. I wasn't too happy with that sudden change but sucked it up to buy it anyway. I knew my extended family and neighbors could probably use them. I would go back but would probably shop around more to compare prices. Difficult times shouldn't be an opportunity to take advantage of people.

It was truly one of the highlights of my trip and I would highly recommend visiting to anyone in the area, and I hope to go again in the future! The parking nearby was a short walk but nothing crazy, and once we got to the Market it was shaded very well and had such a variety of stands both inside and outside of the buildings which I loved. It was a little hot outside so it was nice to be able to rotate between both areas. There was also such a great mix of stores, restaurants, snack stands, and artisans and crafts throughout. We grabbed some aguas frescas to sip on while we explored and they were delicious and a great price for how big they were. We had a big breakfast but it would be nice to try some of the many lunch spots they had throughout the market. The stores had everything but I loved the amount of talavera pottery to choose from and stocked up as much as my suitcase would allow. Prices are super reasonable as well considering these are handmade artisan pieces. I use my tazas everyday and they are the best coffee cups I have ever had. The merchants are super friendly and helpful as well. Everyone was very welcoming and made it a great experience. I hope to be back in the future!

There were food, drink, and craft vendors selling in the outdoor market which made the ambiance very lively but not too crowded, as well as live music. Unfortunately, the vendors' food was underwhelming and expensive. I was coming from California and was excited to compare Mexican street food in Texas, but the options were very bland. Esquites - $12, 5 street tacos - $18, Chicken Gorditas -$11, Agua Fresca -$10 I did enjoy looking inside the markets (don't forget there are 2 different buildings for you to do your shopping). You can find some inexpensive souvenirs mixed in with some of higher price points.

Half of the market was closed off, but something new that popped up near the front of the store was a coffee/smoothie bar. We stopped in for a quick to go order of a coffee, pastry, and smoothie. I loved the fact that there is an option to make your own. I was able to choose my base, 2 fruit options, and a veggie. I chose - blueberry, strawberry, (comes with a banana), spinach, and almond milk. Perfect! Healthy and fresh. The girl behind the counter was friendly and accommodating. There's also a gelato bar. Curious to see what's new when renovations are done!

So they just re did a portion of the store to expand their ready made foods. My husband and I go in to get a couple of sandwiches. We've done it before for little weekend picnics, but my bread was so tough today it wasn't really pleasant. It felt like it had been left in the fridge section for too long. Then we knew the brisket and prepared meats weren't going to be ready until 4, we had asked one of the employees there and they told us it'd be ready at 4. We ordered a couple of sides for dinner and both of the sides were labeled incorrectly. One of them triple the price of what the item should have costed. We came back at 4 and then were informed the brisket might be out actually closer to 5. What? Why tell us 4 and then push it to another hour? We decided to leave and check out and at the checkout lane I noticed they started putting the meat out?? Did they just not want to serve us?? Their customer service specifically was rude but our cashier who helped us with the overpriced ticketed items was nice and helpful. It just doesn't feel good to be treated with disrespect and to basically be lied to because the same guy who said it wouldn't be out until 5 literally started to put out the meat as soon as we walked away. Weird, random, and I hated it.
