My wife favorite local eatery! I had the Apple salad with Salmon & she, the steak with Sweet potato fries. I enjoyed mine, the wife couldn't finish hers so we took it home but not before dessert- lava cake a la mode and she had a brownie a la mode!

Stopped for lunch on the way to Myrtle beach. Average food. Our server Sam was no top of all our needs. Bbq sandwich and old world dip were good. Gravy for dipping had way too much Rosemary and stole any taste of beef. It comes on the side so use it sparingly.

Excellent service and really good food. The Big Chief was outstanding; melt in your mouth pork and a perfect baked potato. The apple pecan salad was wonderful. We had the pretzel bites for an appetizer, and they were perfect! The establishment is really gorgeous, and since it's December, it was decorated for the holiday, and Santa even came by our table to deliver after dinner mints. What a joyous evening. We will definitely return to the Mad Boar.

We stopped near by to charge so my boyfriend and I decided to try a bite for this restaurant. He ordered The Boar Burger and I ordered The Brisket Mac-n-Cheese...spectacular choices from the menu! Boyfriend said, "This burger is bussin bussin. Wow this is one of the best burgers I've had in a really long time!". Nonetheless, the staff members were very polite and attending. The building and the interior have a unique layout, you must see this place yourself!

This place is nice. If you're hosting a lunch or dinner with the fam or coworkers is is a solid spot. Date night, special occasion def visit this place. The appetizers were good, bang bang shrimp is a HIT sauce was more like thousand island then Thai but it works, i mean gooooddddd. The pretzels are a solid choice too, the queso is superb, i could drink it lol. I got a chef salad with chicken and it really was delicious, i just wish they used different salad parts lol there was over half of the salad was the thick hard center part but the ranch is a mush have. The ham on it was cubed not sliced and the cheese was shredded walmart cheese. Son got the BBQ plate and he said its a must have. I WILL be going back. The only reason this is a 3 for me is because the food (delicious) was very basic, like you make it at home, it wasn't anything special looks wise.... the service was bad. I don't know if i just didn't look like the part or i did something that upset our waitress but it was very negative, I could say more but its ok if people have bad days, were all human. This is an absolute must try, I normally wont go back to places with bad service but I, hands down, will be giving this another shot. Ill post a new review when I do!!!

Ambiance and service are good, food kinda hit or miss. Fried pickles 10/10. We go back every once in a while because it's pretty pricey for what they offer.

It was our first time here on a Saturday night(Thanksgiving wknd). It was after 8pm and we were greeted right away. Our daughters were with us, so we sat in the dining room but they have a pub with live music which looked nice and lively! We started with the barbecue wings and pork nachos! The nachos were good but the wings were ok. Husband thought they lacked meat, I felt they were over cooked! Our youngest had the junior burger, hubby had the steak with baked potato, the mad chicken sandwich and the chicken wrap with a side ceasar salad. Husband liked the steak and had flavor, the youngest said the burger was ok, the mad chicken was ok and didn't really care for the potato wedges and my wrap had more shredded cheese than chicken. The atmosphere is cool n we can see ourselves coming back maybe for drinks n listen to music. As for the food maybe we will give it one more chance when in the area! Waitress was fast n sweet!

This should have been called "fooled you" pie.

I was scrolling through Instagram and came across someone's photo of the Mad Boar's fried pecan pie. It was covered in delicious looking dough and a giant scoop of vanilla ice cream. I like to support local businesses, so on my way to Wilmington I stopped by and ordered a piece to go. What I received upon opening said box was nothing close to a piece of fried pecan pie. It was a goopy piece of pie without a shred of fried anything to be found. The pie was ok (though I'm wondering if it was store bought) but I was jipped out of $8. This place is a joke. Keep driving.

The service is always friendly, the bartenders are some of the best in town, and the food is always on point. The fried chicken with collard greens and mashed potatoes is my personal favorite--comfort food done right every single time. My wife loves their sides, especially the black-eyed peas, rice, and fried okra. Their brunch is also fantastic, with a great Sunday crowd and consistently delicious dishes. It's a well-run, welcoming restaurant that delivers great food, great drinks, and great service every time. Highly recommend Molly Pitcher's.

Unfortunately, we were by the door, and it was a little chilly with people coming in and out, but I totally understand that they have to pack in tables due to being so busy. Service was friendly and quick, and they were very patient with the fact that a member of our party was late arriving. I went with the Oh Molly, which included 3 eggs, bacon, sausage, homefries, grits & a biscuit with mollasses butter. They let me sub in double bacon since I don't eat sausage. The main draw for that dish for me was the molasses butter. The molasses flavor wasn't as strong as I was hoping, but it was still really tasty. The biscuit was soft and perfect, I liked the grits, the eggs were cooked right. There was room for improvement on the hashbrowns. For such a busy spot, the gender-segregated single stall restrooms did have a bit of a wait. So, just keep that in mind. Also, when they are busy, their parking lot does fill up. We struggled a bit with parking. I'd definitely stop in again!

It is not fine dining and has the sports bar vibe. It is a relatively small place and I recommend going on non peak hours in season. If you are into oysters, they have a great selection of both local and regional on the half shell. If you prefer cooked, chargrilled or steamed is a good choice. While the menu has a great selection of seafood, the chalkboard specials features extremely fresh local catches which change daily. While there are several restaurants in and around the topsail area this is the only one where I have never been disappointed. If you go at peak hours during the vacation season expect to wait but it is worth it. You can't miss with any of the steamed shellfish offerings and if you prefer fried there batter is light and not overpowering. As a sports bar, they have a large selection of tap and bottled beers and a good mixology of liquor options which is only outdone in my opinion by Rick's in Sneads Ferry

I could've asked the price upfront (and usually do) but what the heck... we're on vacation. The server suggested we get a "double" and share it. OK. Sounds good. It came out quick. There was a TON of food for two of us. Shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn. It didn't have a lot of seasoning also on it, but - no problem - there was a rack with every hot sauce you'd ever need, plus salt, pepper and old bay. We both ate our fill and even left a few potatoes. The bill comes and it's less than $40. It might be the cheapest great meal I've had in a long time. Or maybe it's the "greatest cheap meal" I've had in a long time... I don't know. Bar ambiance, but pleasant enough for families. Mostly high tables. It all seemed very nice.

She was happy to hear about how we found Winnie's and that we are looking forward to trying their signature burgers. I ordered a miniature Carolina Burger and my mother ordered a full-size Station Wagon Burger. The Station Wagon is Winnie's take on a Mushroom Swiss. My burger has chili and slaw between the patty. Both our patties are thick and juicy. The cajun fries have a kick to them and are worth trying out. We saved half our burgers to take home along with a take-out order of two more burgers.
