they really did me wrong at the park, I went there to get help, and was in a sudden nightmare. they tricked me into saying sucide. the lobby door locked. they took me to geriactrics because I am 67. I am not on drugs, I went for therapy , and possiable med change. instead, I got locked up, strip searched, no meds that I am used to taking and klonopin is also MY BP med. The mental ward for the older people is a complete joke. My husband was sent there sfter a stroke put him into a psyc condition. This place didn't order an mri or a cat scan to find out what was wrong so they could treat him the right way. My brothers-in-law told the Dr. Park that he had a stroke but he says he didn't know. Then my son and I told him the same thing and he said no one told him. This so called dr. just started guessing what might be wrong and started filling my husband with so many different kinds of drugs. When he was admitted he was talking to all the staff and patients and walking around and would talk to us and by the time he was ready to be released to come home he was a complete zombie. He even had another stroke while there and they didn't even know it because he was so doped up with so many different medications that he almost died of this stroke. They told me he started sweating EXTREMELY bad, couldn't move his left leg or arm, was having difficult time breathing, was drooling, and incohearant. Finally they sent him to the er. Now he is in Rehab at Health South where he is getting therapy and good care. I would not ever recommend you take a dead flea to that hospital. My son was admitted on Wednesday. He wore the same blue jeans Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. He wore the same shirt Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Had not had a shower from Wednesday thru Saturday. I questioned if he had been given his reading glasses, which had been dropped off for him on Friday, he had not. He just got his glasses today (sunday) after questioning why he was in the same clothing that he had been wearing, a male nurse was quick to give him a shower and tell him to put on clean clothing (this occurs Saturday, yesterday) he was wearing the same clothes again today that he changed into yesterday. It was questioned if he refused to change or take a shower and was never noted in his chart if he did in fact refuse. However, my son is 14 years old and has a sever mental retardation and is on the autistic spectrum and has a seizure disorder, he would never refuse a shower or to change clothes. This is considered neglect of a minor patient. I'm not sure who else has issues like this with riverpark, but my attorney will be notified as soon as his office opens in the morning and the medical director of riverpark will also be notified. read more
