Beware of this business. The person who handled my 40-year-old wristwatch destroyed the movement in the process of trying to change the battery. The watch was working when I came into the shop and was not working when I left. Another jeweler showed me where one corner of the movement had been crushed by careless handling. I could hardly believe the response I got before leaving, which was essentially a shrug. Whether this is carelessness or incompetence, there is no excuse for it. read more

I took them to Lucia at the River Park Jewelry Store in the River Park Shopping Center to leave them with her and she said: "not so fast" . She took her gold scale, weighed everything and said: "It's worth $220.- and that's what she paid me. I have done business with them for a long time. Don't come here for engagement ring repair, this place doesn't even deserve to have 1 star. I read a negative review not to come here for a ring repair despite that I'd like to give this place a chance since there are positive reviews, boy was I wrong! I dropped my ring on Friday the owner told me she'll call me Tuesday to let me know the estimate. I called her on Tuesday to ask she still has the ring the guy will pick it up later that day, I then ask her how's the guy if he's trustworthy since my first time here and yes I'd like to know, she got angry why I asked her that just means I don't trust her, there's a language barrier there, she took it the wrong way she was so defensive and she was calling all the saints, that great as I'm Catholic myself but there's nothing wrong by asking for reassurance. She got so upset it seems like she doesn't even need any customers good for her. She's so rude, she should know better how to treat people since she's 50 yrs older than me. So I went back and took my ring without any work done. I went to Dong jewelry repair shop in Vacaville where I had my ring resized 2 yrs ago I only had to wait for an hour and only charged me $100 he's super good with his customers. Every time I have visited River Park Jewelers, sisters Lucia and Maria, are quick to greet me. They are engaging and always able to repair my jewelry, efficiently and in better shape than I brought it in. While I have gone in for repairs only, I am now curious about the sales side of their shop,too. It is a warm environment that evokes a time when your local jewelry repair person was someone you could trust with your treasured pieces. This store is that place. I am so happy that I found this shop. I had 3 watches that needed new batteries. Everyone was friendly and greeted me when I entered. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience at this store. I got a ring for Christmas and was looking to have it re-sized. After calling a few places I decided to go with River Park Jewelers, because the turnaround was supposed to be the fastest. BIG MISTAKE! I was told my ring would be ready to pick up on a specific date (10 days after dropping it off) I decided to call first to verify it was ready to pick up. The owner then proceeded to tell me that it hadn't even been sent out yet. Apparently she had been sick and literally said to me "What do you want me to say?! It's not like I knew I was going to get sick" I told her she should have called me so that I could have picked it up and brought it somewhere else. So, we discussed the new plan which is that she would drop it off at the jeweler's on Thursday and I would be able to get it the following Tuesday. Again I called a few more places and realized that I couldn't get it done faster anywhere else, so I told her to go ahead and send it out. Today is Wed and she just informed me that her "jeweler" is going to be out of town for the weekend and will not be able to do any work, so it would be at least another week (making for a total of 3.5wks). She said "So, you can just come and pick it up" and then hung up on me without saying goodbye. Now I am quite used to poor customer service, but for the owner of a business to treat a customer (especially a first time customer) this way is absolutely appalling. After I pick my ring up today I will NEVER step foot into that store again. I recommend that anyone who reads this do the same. read more

Hang onto your family heirlooms. My 65 year old diamond wedding ring was cleaned and I cannot be sure it is the same stone. My daughter had a problem with a certified stone being switched.
