The short and sweet version in case you do not wish to read my book... I was disappointed in the care and the cleanliness of the office. The staff was friendly and tried their best as they are always busy. I do appreciate that. I also will give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Lacey ( front desk ) she knows her stuff. She is friendly and always make you feel comfortable about your care. She is the best part of this practice and deserves a raise with how much she does. If you want full details, please continue. I wish I could say I had a good experience with them. I have terrible dental anxiety. I was given extra attention to this at the beginning and slowly it started to be, " no longer offer that service or meds etc." I had 2 cracked teeth that didn't hurt too bad prior to going in and was told I needed fillings. I got them both filled but had to have adjustments over 4 times over a month do " get the right." This process was painful and slow. After 4 appointments I was told they both needed to be root canals. I was told this would a quick and painless process. It was neither of these. I asked multiple times of alternative numbing options as it is not effective for the 2 first times, I completed the filling. I was ignored and told it would be much longer. During all of these visits the machines were down, I was always in longer than 2 hours for each appt even if I was told it will be 45- 1 hour. During one of the procedures where they made a crown the tech dropped it in the trash can on accident (no biggie if he cleaned it). He did not know think I saw it as I was laying the other way. He put it back on the tray without cleaning it. I addressed it immediately. This was with the doctor in the room who also seemed to be okay without him sterilizing the crown before putting it back on the tray with all the other tools or in my mouth... EW. Once addressed said "Oh yes of course we will sterilize it again." however, felt very shady... I am okay to wait for providers and always appreciate their time however this was a constant and was frustrating. Not to mention that I was there 10 times between 2/2025 - 4/2025.... That is a lot of missed work and time to spend on 2 teeth... I would try somewhere else unless there is a huge change in their practice. Also understand that your teeth are covered for them to fix so that is why we keep returning. Just bummed it was my first experience in the metro area. read more

Went in to get a new bridge. They did a root canal and placed a new bridge. Went back with pain, I had an infection due to a broken root where the root canal was done. (Was not broken before root canal) then did an extraction and bone graph (because the infection caused deterioration) the temporaries they put on my roots were uncomfortable and fell out right away. 4000 dollars!!!!!! They acted like they were doing me a favor. I'm getting my new bridge next month and I'll NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!!! their incompetence caused me months of pain and suffering. They never did anything right the first time. Not to mention time lost at work going back over and over again. Don't go there unless your a rich masochist (if you like paying for suffering) read more

DO NOT go here if you value your teeth. I have had several fillings fall out, due to no fault of my own, their 'material' was bad per the dentist. Well, just the other week, ANOTHER filling fell out and when dr howes 'fixed' it on the 8th, I have been in serious pain and discomfort. When I tried speaking to the very unhelpful desk associate, she just regurgitated what the dentist had told her and nothing else. I kept asking to speak with someone else that can help me, but she kept bypassing the request. She said the dentist said this would happen. No, no she didn't. I had a filling fall out, yes, but I was in zero pain.... fast forward to now, I can barely eat because of the pain. Their answer, take Tylenol and Advil or get a root canal and crown. Funny how I didn't need one before my filling fell out and all of the sudden, I need one???? Then, the night before they are set to do the root canal, the office manager calls me to tell me that they are refusing to fix their mistake and basically best of luck. This is just one of the many reasons I stopped going to this place. Once Dr Stark left, this place has been a horrible experience. So, now, since I have no more benefits to use for insurance, I have to wait until January to get this tooth fixed by my current dentist. How sad, having someone else cleaning up your mess. read more

The staff is amazing and I hate to be giving such a negative review but DDS Howes is the problem. She's rude, short sided and not friendly. DDS Stark was much better and then left the practice, he was my 3rd dentist in 4 years at this practice. Time for me to find somewhere that's less a mess. read more

Ah i feel horrible giving such a bad review but I had the worst experience here. I don't think I've actually ever written a yelp review before. I've been seeing a dentist regularly every 6 months since I was a kid, and I've never had such a painful and uncomfortable dentist cleaning experience. My husband and I are new to the area and just got new dental insurance so were looking for a new dentist. My insurance brought me to River Point. The front desk staff is nice enough. I came in for a routine cleaning/check up. When I went back to get dental X-rays done, the dental tech seemed like she had no idea what she was doing and had to redo some of the xrays. She didn't floss my teeth, and really half heartedly cleaned my teeth. The actual dentist was super nice! But everything he did in my mouth was painful. I don't know if my teeth have just gotten extremely sensitive in the 6 months since my last cleaning, but wow. I have nightmares about how cringey it felt. I only came here once because I truly can't fathom coming back every 6 months for a cleaning. read more

A one start review is a very generous rating and I am only giving it to them because zero stars is not an option. Piece of advice before getting work done here : get a 2nd opinion. In my experience, everything felt very rushed and "urgent" and I feel like they just say this so that their patients,who are not experts in dentistry, will just pay the money to fix the problem. They told me I needed to get work on a particular tooth asap and that it was urgent and I went to another dentist and they said nothing needs to be done at the moment and my tooth has been fine since . Please get a second opinion to ensure that the work they say you need is absolutely necessary. Also, the dentist and a specialist with the company both looked at my tooth and both had differing opinions. Talk about stressful! How do you know which professionals opinion to follow when they both work for the same exact company and are telling you different things? Although the dentist was friendly, I feel like overall I was taken advantage of and paid money for procedures that may not have been necessary . Also, ask for an itemized bill!!!! They overcharged me for a particular procedure ( that I may not have needed) and charged me for items I had already paid for! Definitely would NOT recommending going here and if you do definitely be careful! read more

DDS FRED STARK is very good at his job!!! Impressive work!! I had to have a tooth extracted and the whole process with bone graphs and membrane attachment and the whole technique with getting it done and the recovery is by far 1000% better than going through Aspen View dental with Dr Doughty and his team just tore apart my mouth with shoddy work with horrible customer service ! As for River Point Dental I would highly suggest this practice over Aspen dental they're horrible! read more

Awful work here. Had several of my teeth that were worked on break and after I had a crown that was poorly done break, I went in to get it replaced and this also immediately broke. The dentist didn't numb my tooth enough during the replacement, so the experience was miserable. The terrible dental assistant cracked a tooth they weren't even working on, which also broke weeks later. Spare yourself from permanent damage and harm done to your teeth and stay away from this place. read more

Wow, what can I say bad about this dentist visit... Well, nothing! Dr. Howes is so amazing. I had to get a crown and she was able to do it in just a few hours. She is so kind and talented. When she gave me shots I didn't even feel it. Dr. Howes loves what she does and it shows in her attitude and quality of work. There is something to be said about people who are passionate about what they do, and she is. The rest of the staff are kind and helpful. They all seem to work as a team and they get it done. I will be coming here for the foreseeable future. I trust them with my dental issues, I fully believe you can too. read more

I've never had a more bizarre or uncomfortable experience with a dental office. I am very conscientious about regular dental visits - I know what to expect and how much it costs. This basic cleaning took more than two hours, most of which I sat alone in the exam room waiting for a staff person to come explain the costs of a potential filling replacement I MIGHT need IF the current one ever goes bad. I eventually had to ask them to please do the cleaning and let me leave, because I needed to pick up my son. The actual cleaning was the fastest and poorest I've ever had. Then, a week later I got the EOB from my insurance, showing a claim of $1500, including $88 for "dental hygiene instructions" and a series of special x-rays meant for children, none of which was mentioned to me or actually happened. I eventually had them remove the costs for the incorrect services and insurance covered the legitimate charges, but I whatever's going on there is not ok. Find another practice. Don't go to this one. read more

I needed an in network dentist close to my house as my old one is in Colorado Springs. When I went there I was told I needed a special laser cleaning and it would be 2000 dollars without insurance and 600 dollars with. I didn't get it because I have low level insurance. I was also told that my silver fillings needed to be replaced with inlays for well over 1000 dollars. I declined this as well. I went back to my dentist for a second opinion. He examined me and said there was nothing for me to get cleaned, there is nothing there. And that my fillings are fine, old, but fine, no need for replacement. I saw Dr. Stark for my visit. He is either less than competent or trying to make money for the practice. I'm thankful I have a trustworthy dentist to tell me the truth or I might be out 3000 dollars right now. Apparently this dental group doesn't care about the patients they see. I gave them this review via their own survey on Sept 20, 2019 and to date have never been contacted by them. 'I told the dentist Dr. Zhu that he was forceful with the tool used to measure the gums. His comment was that was the only way to get an accurate measurement. In 31 years at the last dentist, I've had many different hygienists, and not once did I feel that I was being abused and poked unnecessarily. Dr. Zhu was aggressive in his care and left a lot to be desired. When after he also did the teeth cleaning, I told him that this wasn't his job and that he wasn't good at it. I left the office feeling as though I didn't have a good cleaning. I got the distinct impression that he would have rather been somewhere else. He was course in the cleaning and the teeth didn't have the smooth feel when running my tongue over them that I am accustom to. There are no happy faces with this visit, but the system wouldn't allow me to leave the page without one. I'm not sure Dr. Zhu has picked the correct occupation.' I wish I could give them minus stars because they don't deserve even one. read more

Stay away. They recommend and performed unnecessary osseous surgery on me that ruined my teeth and gums than still affects me years later. They may be ok for a routine cleaning, but get a second opinion if the recommend any heavy dental work or surgery, trust me. I just want to save anyone else from the pain and suffering I have to endure for unnecessary procedures. They wanted to do the osseous surgery on all my teeth but I opted for only one half at a time and didn't return after they did the first half and the results were so horrible. Now 3 years later I still have so much pain and issues on the side they performed on (and not the other half they didn't) that I still can't enjoy most foods or drinks that I used to. I can only comfortably handle warm food or drinks, nothing remotely cold - like if I go to a restaurant and order a water with no ice, it is still too cold to drink! Also many spices and sauces cause pain on the side they operated on, and a long list of many other foods I never had issues with before. Had I not listened to River Point dental and chose not to get the surgery, my mouth would still be fine. Years later I can tell an extremely noticeable difference between the half side of my mouth they operated on which is now in pain, versus the other half they didn't touch that has no pain or issues to this day - and I go for dental checkups twice a year. When I went to another dentist I trust afterwards they gave me a second opinion and said without a doubt that the osseous surgery recommended by River Point Dental Group was not necessary, but there's no going back in time now. ugh! read more

Dr Hong performed osseus surgery on me with 2 extractions and 2 bone graphs... I was really not very easy with this until I sat and had Dr Hong to go over what all was wrong with my mouth and why I needed the following procedures, she took her time to make sure I understood everything before we began, it was really nice to go to a dentist that has a specialist there once a month and don't have to go elsewhere, Holly and the front staff are great, she helped me with the financial part of things and put my mind to ease, thank River point for making me feel at ease after years of going to poor dentist such as comfort dental read more

Ive been going for the past couple of years to River Point Dental and after Dr. Zhu left I remained because he was cocky, and a bit rough but his work appears to be good. I stayed because of the location and proximity to my home. The place always appears clean and never overly busy. My experience today was not the norm and it certainly could have been better. I was made to feel as I could reschedule because my regular dentist was not in or accept the dentist and move forward. I did not recognize any of the staff. I was not treated like the new patient that I just witnessed leaving. I will not be returning. I had also been convinced into purchasing a partial and feel that was a complete waste of money as they still fit poorly, hurting on one side and flopping around loosely on the other. I got two porcelain crowns done here that affected my bite and left me in pain. I had to see a new dentist to correct them. When he looked at them, he was appalled and said they had very little contour and were not impressive. The new dentist contoured them for me and restored my bite and solved my jaw pain problem. River Point ALSO glued one of my crowns on BACKWARDS! They went so far as to cure the glue before they noticed it, which made it more difficult to remove, causing further damage to my already troubled molar. They only realized it was on backwards when they instructed me to close my mouth, and I couldn't. That's right, I couldn't close my mouth. So bad. Stay away. read more

I recently made an appointment with the River Point Dental Group as a new patient and I am very happy with my decision. Prior to my appointment, the office sent an email with a link to complete my new patient paperwork. Filling out the personal, medical, and dental history was so easy and quick I was able to complete it on my iPhone in a couple of minutes. When arriving for my appointment I appreciated the parking availability and cleanliness and views within the rooms. The staff was welcoming and quick to take me in for my appointment since I had supplied all of my information through their secure online portal. I'm a very uneasy person like most people when visiting the dentist or having oral care performed. I found the staff to be very friendly, but more importantly caring about how I felt as a patient and making sure I was comfortable. During my exam Dr. McCallum brought a few things to my attention that my previous dentist had not. This was educational for me and certainly something I will pay attention to on my next few visits. Her exam was very thorough and used the latest technology (from what I could tell). She took time to educated me on what she was seeing and how I possibly developed specific areas of concern. Finally she offered medical advice and charted the notes. I will be back for my regular cleaning. I'm glad I made the switch and feel like I am in the right hands for good oral care and prevention. I have been going to riverpoint dentistry for more than 8 years and find them to be very informative of what the procedure will be for me. I have had my teeth cleaning there, crowns, removed a tooth and lately a tooth implant. As I had one tooth pulled over a year ago, I was contacted by Riverpoint and asked if I would be interested in having an implant for half the price. They went into detail of the cost and the procedure. The staff are very nice, they treat you as a person and not a number. read more

Love this practice, I have been coming to the office for years and I am really happy about some of the changes. Doctor Maccallum was very clear on what I needed and explained why I needed a crown and a deep cleaning. The hygienist Vivian did a very good job, and really walked me through this not so fun cleaning step by step. I was never told I needed this before so I was happy it could be completed the sameday. The front office got me in quickly and aly was very kind and welcoming. She helped me figure out what I could afford monthly. Highly recommend read more
