I came a couple times over a week. The first time with friends and the only thing open was the tiny café. They closed the buffet, which is absolutely devastating and the café didn't have much to eat. In my opinion it was overpriced. We ordered some soup and fries and a salad. Next time I came, I ate in the actual big room and had a prime rib. It was delicious, but I ordered it medium and it was well. The potato with all the fixings was absolutely delicious and the vegetables were super fresh like out of the garden fresh and good they had all the sides and service was decent when I found out that they were out of prime rib after my order I was pretty forgiving and just happy I got it. When the check came, I was charged $51. The prime rib is $28 and I had about five bucks on my card. So I had to wait for a manager to get it fixed that was quite disappointing. Besides that the casino paid me pretty well and I even walked out with a brand new blender. I'm always a fan of the rock. They let me play for hours on not too much money. read more

Their breakfast is average nothing spectacular. if you are a senior (50 and up) on Mondays (w/your rewards card) you get your breakfast for half off. The app soup & salad menu isnt bad, they have a lot of appetizers to choose from, many are delicious, salads are good and good sized. the soups are good but could be slightly larger portion and they don't come with bread :-( The lunch/dinner menu has a lot to choose from sandwiches, burgers, pizza and more. Their burgers are good and you get your choice of fries or potato salad ( very good). Their Ruben Sandwhich is very good as well. I love their French Dip sandwhich. I've only been to the buffet once and didn't care for it very much. A lot of the offerings in the buffet weren't very good. Just an FYI, this was a smoking casino. I mean, they have a cigarette store. They sell cigarettes in the vending machine, but they used to have the non-smoker in a little room now the whole casino is non-smoking except for a tiny room in the back with shitty machines, and you can only smoke in that little tiny room and now they don't allow smoking when you go out there it's all people that are like 70 years old in the casino it's no longer hip fun can't smoke. They'll sell cigarettes but you're not allowed to smoke them anywhere but in the tiny room in the back so I've been going up there for about 15 years. I'll never go Back the whole point of going to casino so you can smoke. And they cut the dessert part of their buffet down to a tiny little section and it's just not good anymore. I visited River Rock Casino on August 12, 2025 with my family and expected a quick stop while traveling. Because my younger sisters are underage, the casino would not allow them inside (which I understand is standard). However, there was NO DESIGNATED WAITING AREA for minors, and we were told they could not even stay in the car while we went in briefly. When they needed to use the restroom, Logan (the security guard) refused to let them use the porta potty located outside, and instead called the manager (bigger caucasian man) to turn them away and kick out the adults that were already in the casino. This left us in an uncomfortable and stressful situation, especially with no nearby facilities or safe space for them to wait. We ended up having to leave immediately. If the casino had even a small public waiting area or accessible restroom for minors, it would have avoided this unpleasant experience. Not every visitor arrives without family members under 21, and better accommodation for them would be more welcoming. Unfortunately, due to the lack of basic consideration and customer service, we will not be returning. read more

Had not been here in a long time - but thought we'd give it a try since we read they are now expanding because Caesars had taken them over - figured they might have newer and better machines. They had a few and they had changed the layout - but the slots are just as tight as they've always been. In fact, in the few years we have gone there, I've personally never seen anyone getting a hand-pay! Although, my 'better-half' won some fairly profitable line hits, we both agreed we've never seen anyone get a hand-pay at River Rock - even before the expansion started. I have a little less than 800 entries but found out when I arrived that my free play of $20 was deactivated and I was banned for 30 days. No notice. No reach out/ call or text. The $.75 (cents) / minimum bet wastes the bonus. ... So I lose big too.... max betting and I am banned not for fighting, drunk and disturbing, but because I tried to charge my phone... and I asked if this security overlord would do the same with a white haired Caucasian patron. Anyhoo... tonight's supervisor of security said he would look into it on Monday... so the saga continues. This supervisor was at least gracious sounding/ respectful... which at the end of the day... is all I ask. River Rock is dimly lit, and old in its accommodations and choice of slots. Few updates... and while they use to advertise themselves as the "loosest slots in Sonoma", I am not sure that is still true. I have been coming to RR because it is smaller with fewer cars and gamblers and therefore perhaps better odds.. Graton Casino has over 2000 employees, well dressed... AMAZING swimming pool, and hotel... bus service, restaurants including Slice House and the Habit burgers and Everett and Jones BBQ. They have the LATEST slots, lots of space and improvement and a ventilation system that is 2nd to none for less smoke. They are Amazon and Apple of the Bay Area casinos.. but they do well and reward their patrons... I cannot say the same about current River Rock. read more

Scary creepy ride u a small dark two lane road with my uber driver advising us how hard it is to get rides out of there when done. Got nervous when we saw zero cars coming back down the road. No cell service either. I asked floor manager at casino if it's hard to get a ride back and he confirmed takes 2-3 hours to get out. I got uber drivers personal number so I could call him for ride back. Place was dead on a Thursday night. Sat at only bar there and food was really good. I have been a rewards member at River Rock since 2008 but only within the last few months have I actually been playing regularly I have to say I have never been so disrespected or humiliated and all my life I had brought my 75-year-old friend to see the place and try to win a few dollars it was her first time at River Rock mind you she is in an electric wheelchair which by the way this place is very poor with their accommodations for the disabled for example there isn't a single door in the place that has a button for the doors to open automatically for people in wheelchairs so it's quite difficult just getting her in the doors I just want to mention that my friend that I brought is a senior citizen and does suffer from narcoleptic episodes this is regular and normal for her she just takes a couple minutes of a little snooze and then she's up again which she takes medication for and has been documented by multiple doctors so after she had a couple of her little snoozes she was ready to play again and that's when they started harassing us the first time telling us oh it's time to go she can't stay awake so she was so humiliated she went out to the car to wait till I finish my free play about 20 minutes later the same supervisor said my friend was sleeping in the car and that means it's time for us to leave I asked him if I could please use the rest of my free play he said 5 minutes then I got to thinking this isn't right why am I being harassed here we're not hurting anybody so about 20 minutes later another gentleman came over and said you need to go now and I said excuse me you need to leave me alone I did not do anything illegal or wrong so allow me to enjoy myself please that's when three of them then started telling me that I need to get the f*** out of there they don't want me there and they're giving me a 30-day ban and then the supervisor the first one I had mentioned said waddle away go ahead and waddle away now he then proceeded to call me fat and disgusting there were 3 other workers there that saw the whole ugly my suffer from an incident in 20018 where I broke both hips my pelvis and my pubic bone so I'm not exactly straight and maybe I do waddle but to attack my physical appearance like that for literally nothing I did nothing wrong it just seems really messed up to me it was so humiliating and so degrading he started picking me apart my appearance I mean how unprofessional and just bully this guy is straight bullied me all the way through the parking lot he was going to put hands on me if I didn't agree with and move along he said he was going to have me arrested before I could get out of their property and he said I'm banned for life now all because I said that was so disrespectful I don't deserve that I want an apology so this is my experience these supervisors are bullies they had no right to treat me the way they did or my disabled friend for that matter this this facility is not disabled friendly it's not even people friendly for god sakes in my opinion and I have never been so humiliated or disrespected I have spent a small fortune at this casino and to be treated like a criminal such a BS! read more

We waited for the bus to River Rock at Marina Village in Alameda. It was a NO SHOW. Yesterday I called the number for RRC transportation reservations and got the "THIS PERSON HAS NOT SET UP THEIR VOICE MAIL MESSAGES" response. Since RRC has been in business for years, such a message really says "WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS OR WASTING YOUR TIME". I then called the main number and some one told me that a reservation is not required, just wait at Marina Village and get on the bus when it arrives. One hand apparently does not know what the other is doing. Maybe the bus service has been discontinued at some locations or completely, just don't count on any one at River Rock Casino to provide any accurate information. read more

It's true. This casino does not have much to offer compared to Thunder Valley, Cache Creek and other larger casinos with more food options that has a hotel. However, it does have a nice view of wine country when you're driving up there. They even have a sign in their parking lot saying "very loose slots" but I wouldn't count on it. I understand casinos need to make a profit but they have really tightened their slots. Patrons like me and others that go often have been loosing $$$$$$$ tons of money everyday. All the machines that use to pay out are no longer paying out. They changed it where machines are paying out a lot less and once it pays out it quickly takes it back, They also changed it where free spins are less frequent. You can't even expect to win something decent if you max bet. Lately, I've only seen machines pay out more and give free spins if you bet minimum. There are people winning jackpots but they are the ones wagering big bets. The jackpots I've seem are only 4 digits compared to the 5, 6 & 7 digits that I've seen others win at the major casinos, In terms of their jackpot days of October 27 & 28, it seems they don't even spin the raffle barrel good enough. The barrel is spinning so slowly, it doesn't seems like the tickets are mixing well enough for participants to have a fair chance of winning. The beverages are not that great either. It's generally soda. The beverage lady tells me the cranberry juice and grapefruit lemonade are not really juice but it's from a syrup. The coffee isn't as good as other casinos and they only offer powder creamer. I have to carry my own half & half to the casino. This is from my personal experience and latest observation. I would be very cautious if you decide to visit this casino. I really want to like this casino so bad because my biggest plus about this casino is that it's is Smoke Free! But there are some points that bring it down to a 3/5 River Rock Casino is a couple miles down from Graton casino and is a smaller location with a huge number of old school slots which is actually a plus! The place does have its share of newer style slot machines like dragon link and lightening link etc which will totally fit slot gamers needs. There are a couple tables for table card play etc but I did notice the tables were pretty empty. During slot pay I would say there is multiple machines that have low volatility and good kickbacks which really is plus for anyone trying to build a bankroll. The comment that I did hear from players at the casino was the machines were tight for low rollers. I would say that I was able to win my money back from my original bankroll twice. It did take maybe a couple dollars to get a bonus feature and get maybe about double my play money but never was able to win a Major. All in all it's gambling and really the machines maybe are "tightened" in the low balling range but it takes almost 100,000 to 1 million spins for any tweaks to take affect if the machines were indeed "tightened." Food I would say is just acceptable and price is acceptable as well. The buffet is indeed OVERPRICED. I would just recommend eating before coming or eat at the bar area which is still acceptable but not great. There's a beverage area where it's all free so that is a plus. When it comes to the location it does have nice views and also outdoor table areas for people to sit and eat or just take a break from gaming. There are dated signs around such as the "smoke free area" when interior location is already smoke free. All in all it's a casino. The saying the house always wins does indeed come to a factor. The slot machines that are class 2 and bingo style is already a factor as well since you're playing your fellow slot neighbors for the kickback (so come early when no one's playing.) My experince was so clearly bad i was given a complaint form from a security guard who urged me to mail it in. I was too busy working and lost it, but i will tell my experience now. I went after the death of my mother for xmas dinner. I arrived early as i wanted to gamble. the extreme rudeness i was treated with by employees there was so awful i left without eating or playing. i was treated like a second class citizen by all but 2 people there. when i finally got to the dining room i asked if they had coffee. the waitress was much friendlier, but she didnt know and didnt offer to seat me. i was tired of walking back and forth across the casino to find something to eat and just left. i ended up eating a burrito at a convience store a kind woman opened for me. it was the worst christmas i ever spent! read more
