Okay let me start off by agreeing with the masses...Ben...is awesome. From the moment I called ahead to ask if we can come early, and I already felt like I was talking to family......to us checking out, and him leaving us with one last tip-stop to make on our drive back to Jersey. He was warm and welcoming, without being hoovering. He gave us suggestions, made us maps, even knew the venue of the wedding I was going to that I couldn't even remember. Really, him alone...and his doggy, made the stay 5++. Now on to the rest. I live in suburban Jersey, and coming here to this home, felt like a secret vintage getaway. It was a beautiful home, with a large porch and open door policy. Taking a walk around the rooms, there was so much history in all it's presentation. I particularly got a good laugh out of the "rate what kind of wife you are". Our rooms, as well as the rest of the home appeared very clean. Ben was kind enough to upgrade our room so we had a private bathroom which was a nice bonus. The bed was incredibly comfortable that we even joked about asking him what kind it was. In the morning Ben would whip up something delicious, as well as have an additional spread of other treats - cereal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, etc. I particularly liked the touch of to-go cups for the coffee. The area itself was very relaxing. The house has a large backyard, where you can sit in peace by the creek. In just walking distance to the house was a grocery store, liquor store, restaurants, and then some. Parking is right in front of the house. DEFINITIVELY recommend.

I've stayed at River Run every weekend and holiday Dec 2022 - Feb 2023. It was like a second home for me.

    Peaceful and serene.

This is a very lovely B&B. And yes Ben is awesome. He gave some great recommendations, the breakfast spread he prepared each morning was just perfect to start the day, he keeps this house clean and tidy. This Victorian holds an old charm to it, with its eclectic decor and warm atmosphere. Something to take note of -for those who do not like to interact with ppl, prefer more of a glamping style, private place, this may not be for you. You will see people (remember you are renting a room of a house) unless you are the only one who booked the place. You will hear the floors squeaking, people talking and eating together. Hence the concept of a B&B. It does get quite at night, and you can enjoy the fireplace and read with peace. I personally LOVED it. I did book a room with 2 single beds, thinking I would put the two together. That didnt quiet work out (sorry honey, we had separate beds for a few days lol..oops) The ski resort was 8 minutes away and the slopes were amazing. The local restaurants (Zephyrs, Crazy River Cafe) were excellent. I will definitely come back again and not just for skiing, but for hiking, winery etc and bringing some friends to this B&B

trippy decor in the "retro" suite

Not what we were expecting, The website definitely made it look better than it was, although the price was reasonable. "Retro" suite was just that, like staying in your parents basement, where your parents have outfitted with the worst mis match of fur itch they found at a yard sale, beware the linen is so trippy you might start to see things in the walls. We did enjoy good service though. Ben, was very attentive and looked after us well.

Had a great stay here with our two kids. The breakfast was very good and we had plenty of privacy. Stayed in the "Delaware Room" and were pleased with the king bed and very hot shower after a cold day on the slopes. Very close to Belleayre. Recommended restaurant nearby would be "Peekamoose" which was a little pricey but worth it.

Been staying yearly at River Run B&B since 1993. The village of Fleischmann's is scenic with numerous Victorian dwellings. It is so much fun to walk around and enjoy the fresh mountain air! But the best part is staying at River Run. It is a lovely old house with a huge backyard leading down to a stream. Very restful. Ben, the host of River Run, puts on a wonderful breakfast and is very skilled and considerate when it comes to dietary restrictions. Please do let him know if there are any allergies and he will come up with something delicious that suits your needs. The rooms are cozy, but I prefer the Retro Suite. It's got two bedrooms as well as an eat-in kitchen and living area. It also has a second, separate entrance from the main entryway. I'm please to say that along with Ben's excellent breakfasts, there is La Cabana, a Mexican restaurant, Bebert's Morrocan Cafe, and Goatie Whites, a bar and grill with over 25 flavors of ice cream. Yes, Fleischmann's just keeps getting better and better!

They really encourage you to make it your day, and it's a truly customizable experience. There is no fixed menu, or seating arrangement, or timeline. They work with you throughout the planning process to make everything your own. Mark and Leigh were incredible every step, not only were they able to comfortably answer all of our questions but everything went smoothly on the day. And Chris in the kitchen is something else, hands down one of the best chefs I have had the pleasure of chatting with, and if he offered, I'd be at his table every night for dinner. Another saving grace is that the venue itself doubles as an airbnb for you and your loved ones. You rent the house for the weekend, and it has 8 bedrooms to divide amongst your bridal party. It really helped me to let loose on my day knowing that my bed was right upstairs and that the Spillian staff would handle the cleanup. They also hosted our rehearsal dinner and morning after brunch, and it lessened the load to not have to plan two separate events with different vendors. Now let's talk about the day itself! I didn't have to lift a finger. My husband and I brought along decorations and signage, and expected to have to do some organizing ourselves. But the Spillian staff were there Friday night when we were unpacking asking what everything was and where we wanted it, and it was packed back up for us by Sunday morning. On Saturday, they went to work putting everything together for us. It was beautifully orchestrated by Spillian's coordinator, Sam. We can't thank her enough for making sure that our rainy day wedding went so smoothly, we barely even noticed that we had to shift our plans within 30 minutes! Originally, the whole affair was meant to be hosted outside, but persistent rain (it is the Catskills after all) had us moving the reception indoors. They had the whole event setup outside and moved it all inside in record time. By the time photos were done everything was set for dinner. They even offer a late night bonfire if that's your thing, and thankfully we were still able to light it in the rain. Overall 35/10 Have your wedding here, stop questioning it.

First the good: the property is gorgeous. Nestled on the side of the eponymous hill in the village of Pine Hill, NY. It features several cabins and two vintage airstream trailers, a central green space with a fire pit, a communal lodge and an outdoor hot tub. It's a five minute drive to Belleayre Mountain and a five minute walk down the hill to the downtown area of Pine Hill with a few restaurants. True rustic Catskills coziness. My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights during a weekend in February when everything was buried under a foot of snow. A gentleman named Matty found us as soon as we drove in and was incredibly friendly, but that was the last of any employees we saw during the weekend. To the bad: I would not recommend cabin 8. It's a single room with bathroom and shower (no bathtub) at 175 total square feet. My girlfriend and I are not big people and don't mind a small room, but maybe just not for a weekend of skiing/snowboarding as we discovered. With so much equipment and barely any space to put it all save for one bench and a few wall hooks, it's just not ideal. The water pressure in the shower was depressing, especially after a full day on the slopes. At one point in my shower it slowed to a dismal trickle, presumably affected by the sinks/showers in the rooms next door. Cabin 8 has neighbors on nearly all sides. We shared an entrance with those in cabin 7 and could hear them clomping in and out in the evenings/mornings, and could hear them easily through the walls even though they were talking at a reasonable volume. We were bummed that the hot tub was closed all weekend as that had been one of the big draws for us in the first place - the possibility of relaxing after skiing all day. The temperature dropped to -15°F in the night so we understand why it was closed. A fire was set up on Friday night, but the fire pit was too big and the fire too small to make sitting in the chairs comfortable. We had to stand in the fire pit itself two inches from the fire to stay warm. Eventually we got tired of standing and went back to our room. The lodge is definitely nice with its pool and foosball tables. The website mentions an air hockey table, but this was not in the lodge when we visited. A sign on the lodge advertised croissants, bagels and coffee for sale on Sunday between 8 and 11, but when we stopped in at 10:30 the whole place was empty with the lights off. We never did get to see the gift shop as it was closed all weekend. So... not terrible. But at $398 for the two nights, I just don't feel like we got our money's worth. We love the Catskills and might give the place another try if we come back to do some hiking in warmer weather.

For us, having access to a hot tub was the only required amenity for recovery after a long day of skiing. So, while it was a disappointment that the hot tub at the Margaretteville Suites didn't work, we understand the challenges that B&B operators face in upkeep. But no customer should expect to travel 3 hours from NYC only to learn for the first time upon a 10pm arrival that the hot tub doesn't work -- and we had communicated management, twice. Ok Fine, oversights happen. But with that, it was worth bringing our concerns to management's attention, after all, Carol M. Is a B&B owner so we'd expect the attentive customer service that you often get in the boutique travel industry. That's when all hell broke lose for us. When discussing the issues above on the second day of our stay, Carol M. Displayed an extraordinary level of rudeness. She suggested to a member of my group that we could have left on the night of our arrival (after a 3 hour drive on a Friday night after work to get there from NYC it's unfair to suggest we should have gone somewhere else when we were in a small town, and we had a contract... So if we just left would she refund us all the money?) and that she called my friend "disgusting" for suggesting the owner do anything to make the situation right. The concept that "the customer is always right" does not apply at the Margaretville Inn/B&B, Suites or Motel. Beware, Carol M. owns all 3. Also, don't take my word for it, look at the tone of the Carol M.'s disgruntled, sarcastic and rude replies to other dissatisfied customers on TripAdvisor. We should have known to stay away, and so should you.

The Delaware Court Motel is located off Route 28 in the town of Fleischmanns, at 1141 Main Street, where one can walk through the entire town of Fleischmanns. The town has a small market where you can get essentials and single serve coffee, post office, bank and an exceptional pizza/bar/restaurant called Goatie Whites which easily compares to a mid scale City restaurant that the whole family enjoyed. There is also a Mexican restaurant call La Cabanas nearby and Sam's Country Store/gas station, where they always have fresh coffee and a nice selection of danish. Worth mentioning is that although in the past the town was a haven for Hassidic Jews, this is no longer strictly true. There are all different types of people here from small business owners, residents to families with and without children. An ideal location to bring the whole family. I saw middle/upper class families of all races here enjoying themselves. Margaretville is only a short 10-15 minute drive away where everything you need is there: supermarket, drug store, restaurants, Dollar store, liquor store, hardware and more. I would NOT recommend staying at any of the hotels/motels Margaretville as all 5 of these hotels are owned by the same person who has no visible licenses and who does not have any staff actually on premises (other than to accept money). Margaretville Motel is a firetrap with windows literally nailed shut. no working smoke alarms and no landline available in the rooms. Very dangerous.

Based on several bad reviews online, I wanted to skip the bar & grill, but we had a big party and the logistics of moving everyone made it impossible. I wasn't feeling confident when we arrived and we were the only ones there. I was wrong. First our server was fantastic, and not just because we were her only table. Second, the food was good. Again, I was not excited to eat here, and the fusion menu in a golf resort bar & grill gave me pause, so ordered the safe chicken cutlet sandwich. Others ordered the coconut shrimp, quesadilla, dumplings, Caesar salad and NY Strip Steak. It was all delicious. My chicken cutlet was fresh- rather than processed, fried perfectly and served in lovely ciabatta bread. No complaints from anyone at the table. The foodies I was with even enjoyed the house red...go figure. The lodging: The location is lovely, this is truly God's country. When we arrived for a wedding weekend, it was us and two others, also there for the wedding. We have no idea what the season is for the Catskill's. but we couldn't believe it was so quiet given the gorgeous foliage. The lodging in motel style, but a bit elevated. There's an elevator and it is covered. The rooms were nice, the fridge was a nice touch and the beds were very comfortable. If in the area again we would definitely stay there.

This is a review after our stay at the Hanah House, the private cabin at Hanah Mountain Resort. I…read moreand 5 other guests rented the Hanah House for two nights while in town for a wedding. The biggest complaints: The Hanah House was not clean, amenities were broken, and we were treated dismissively by the Hanah manager, Deb. Shortly after checking in, we noticed the heat was not working. We called into the main lobby, and maintenance promptly came and turned on the heat to the bedrooms and left a space heater in the main room until they could fix it the next day. I was very pleased about how quickly maintenance handled it, this is not a complaint about that. But it's just the first of many issues illustrating that the Hanah House was not at all made ready for guests prior to our arrival. We quickly discovered: - There were dirty towels on the floor in the master bathroom (pictured below). They had been there so long that a spider had built a web between them and the bathtub. - There was leftover food baked onto a pan left in the oven (pictured below). I can only assume it was from the same party that left the cobwebbed dirty towels. This made the oven unusable. - There were flies in the house and multiple dead ones on the carpet in each of the bedrooms. - we also had complaints about the fact that the electric fireplace did not work, and that there were no comforters in the room. I was satisfied by the manager's explanation that the fireplace is a fire hazard, and does not work by design, and that the comforters have been removed due to covid protocol. Over the next few nights, we discovered that multiple things were broken: - The first night, the fire alarm in the main room began beeping, indicating it needed its battery changed. To me, this indicates the hotel does not regularly check them. - The second morning, when the 6 of us were running around getting ready for the wedding, we discovered the showerhead in the master bath did not work and only produced a trickle of water. - We also discovered that the hairdryer in the master bath, the only one in the house, did not work. I asked specifically ahead of time if they had hairdryers and irons available anticipating we would need them for the wedding. When we checked out, we let the front desk know about our issues and they told us they'd notify the manager, Deb, and ask her to call us. Deb called me the next day, but when I asked if there was anything she could do about all the problems we experienced, or if it would be possible to get partial compensation since the house wasn't up to par, she refused. She assigned the issues to the fact that the house is a rustic cabin. I understand that the house is not a 5-star mansion, but things were broken, dirty, and the house did not appear to be ready for guests when we checked in. My partner asked her if she could speak to upper management. When I checked in with her two days later, she informed me that upper management held the same position. She also cut me off when I was speaking to say goodbye and hung up on me. I have never asked for compensation or complained before about a hotel. I understand these are usually run by people doing their best to provide for their guests, and mistakes do happen. But the house was dirty, amenities were broken, and the most we got was a "sorry, but it's a cabin."
