The staff was rude and told him they may work him in but when he went to the office they said he could not wait to be seen, and needed to leave or they would call the police. He was barely able to walk and was told they would not see him at all after waiting for a few minutes in the office. Due to the pain he didn't want to drive home and back there. He has a known illness and this was his primary care doctor (although he had never seen the actual doctor only nurse practitioners). Today, he received a certified letter stating they would not see him as a patient at any summit facility except if an emergency within next 30 days. He had an emergency, Clinton location would not see him, that is what started it. It is more than ridiculous to say you are a patient care representative and treat someone that was clearly ill like this. And when in the parking lot, trying to get directions to a real doctor, the police showed up. The police were very nice and could tell he was hurting and was only trying to get directions to a real doctor. We have been a patient at Summit in Knoxville for years. I haven't received a call back from Summit main office, I had voiced a complaint that day.

Earlier I had two balances, totaling less than $18, for which I NEVER received statements, which were sent to collection. Today I called their billing people to see if I had any current balances discovered that i owed two balances less than $16. They claimed statements were sent in April, May, and June. I never received any such statements. I paid both on the phone call. When I was forwarded to "somebody" who could help me, I end up with voice-mail every time. Rediculous. When I arrived, I was treated with friendly employees and a nice nurse and a friendly, thorough doctor. I saw Dr. Gupton and he was very good. Asked all the right questions, didn't treat me bad for being the cause of all of my medical problems, scheduled a future appointment, ordered blood work, referred me to an ophthalmologist, an actually talked to me about my medical history. The other great thing about this place is that they have an in-house lab (did a quick and painless blood and urine sample) and they have an in-house x-ray setup. Very convenient if you don't want to run all over Clinton (or over to Oak Ridge or LaFollette). By the time I arrived home in Rocky Top, there was a message that my prescriptions were ready to pick up at CVS and there was a message from the Ophthalmologist that my eye appointment had been made for me. The next day I received a phone call saying the doctor had concerns about my blood sugar and because of my neuropathy history, he was referring me to an endocrinologist. I was very happy with the treatment and their thoroughness.

Gives out wrong medical advice. I just received a letter saying I was no longer going to be seen due to non-compliance. I was just there last week to be fit in to see if I had a UTI. I did not. I was not seen by her but another physician that took over an hour. Before that I had seen her for a fear of a clot in my leg because I had had a clot before. She wrote an order to be seen at vascular to check out my leg, I immediately went there: no clot! Thankfully, not once have I not followed her instructions. She is going on maternity leave, it feels like her way of dealing with the idea she may not be back sooner than she thought? Not sure, however putting me down as non medical compliance will not work. There bathroom is nasty, the pen to write the name on your specimen cup is sticking properly from people who pee and use the pen to wright with, the little pen holder hadn't been cleaned since the day it was bought. Someone had shaved in the sink, there was left over hair in and on the top of the sink. The large paper towel roll was sitting on the sink that was gross. I guess it was too much work to put the paper towels in the holder?! The nurse wanted me to bring out my pee cup even though I had just washed my hands?! She had gloves on. How many of their patients walk out with peed on cups, bare unwashed hands and touch things. Yuck. I've reported both the doctor and nurse. I let the hospital aware of how this office handles patients. Clinton deserves better! Do better!

He stays right on top and has been there for me as a doctor should and beyond. He cares, truly cares and has been a major support figure in my life. I can't imagine him not being my doctor and dread the day he decides to retire. I hope it's not anytime soon, as selfish as that may sound! lol I love his staff! This has got to be the absolute worst pediatric clinic that I have ever taken my son to. I only…read moregave them a one star because they have a 24/7 call line in case something goes wrong, but they don't really deserve that. The actual pediatrician, Dr. Beaver misdiagnosed my son for four months; had him switching formulas every week, going to different g.i. doctors in Knoxville and Nashville, and placed him on unnecessary laxatives that other pediatricians have never even heard of being used on newborns/infants. He had thrush for four months which she blew off as formula sitting on his tongue even though it was brought to her attention no less than five times. The after hour call center like to yell at you for not feeding your child enough, but turns around in one minute and calls him over-weight and fat. [from birth he gained 10 pounds in four months]. The front desk staff are not friendly, they look like and have the attitude as if they hate life altogether. I STRONGLY AND HIGHLY recommend that you NEVER take your children to this office based on my experience.
