I've canoed or tubed on a lot of the popular Michigan rivers for these activities and have never seen an operation like this. Entering the check-in area is like walking into the lobby of a luxury resort. There are several booths with clerks ready to register you, and of course a wide selection of merchandise you might want to check out if you forgot some essential for your trip, like sun block or a waterproof phone case. Once registered, we were assigned a bus boarding area and got ready to ride to the put-in site. The trip was short and we were soon turned loose on the river. We took the 4-6 hour trip and finished in just about 5, with only a short lunch stop. The river was very pleasant, slow with occasional riffle areas where we picked up some speed, and not to many rocks or logjams to navigate around. Quiet and solitude? Well, no. If you're making this trip on a hot summer Saturday, expect to be in the company of several other parties during the length of your trip. One offered us a jello shot, which we passed on, though thirty years ago that would have been tempting. Not much chance of missing your take out, which is back at the campground, which takes up a large stretch of the riverback before you hit the actual landing. Once there, you just hand your tube/boat to an attendant and walk back to your car. I probably wouldn't choose to camp here--the campground is large and not shaded in many parts. Lot of potential for it to get loud. But for canoeing or tubing, a top-notch rental operation. read more

Have an annual camping weekend for 3 years and always enjoy this campground. They have water and electrical at the campsite for a reasonable price and there is plumbed restrooms and showers that are walking distance. They maintain the facilities and always clean. It's really nice to have a campsite along the river and really nice they shuttle you to the starting point and provide usually good quality tubes and also offer tubes for your cooler if you pay per cooler tube. read more

This campground has lots of fun sites for both tent and RV camping. I have camped here a few times with mixed experiences. I would not recommend this place for tent campers looking for a quiet and relaxing space it's much more geared towards partying. The campground includes tubing or kayaking on the river which is a fun time for those looking to party. The rifle river is not the best when water levels are low very rocky. The tubes provided by the campground are pretty dirty and under inflated for the cost. I'd say if you plan on a weekend of partying and drinking this place is good but wouldn't recommend for families or those looking to unwind in nature. read more

Well the campground is always maintained well so there is no concern there. The spots along the river could use a little more shade, but we got a spot with shade this year so it isn't bad at all. But, (and this is why I went down to 3 stars). I got here early and they charged me a $10 early check in fee. Now, while I admit I was here early, there was already someone from our party who came in the day before on our campsite. So why the charge then? Honestly, am I consuming soooo many resources that this was necessary? After all of the money spent here over the years through camping, tubing, store purchases, firewood bundles, etc....this is the thanks I get? Come on man! You gotta do better. I've also stayed at White's (just around the corner) and have never had an early check in fee especially on a weekday. I'm not going to say "don't stay here". This is a nice place to enjoy a weekend or even a full week. And I don't think the business deserves that....but I am saying that as a result of my experience, that $10 will cost them both in the publicity of this review and the likelihood that I will book our group at White's next year. read more

This is the worst campground I have ever dealt with. The manager in the front office told me that my camping receipt that they sent me in March doesn't matter and that I now have to pay PER PERSON, which is not what my receipt from my March payment implies. She continually yelled at me. She called me a liar and told me I was "sick" because I didn't know that they specifically cater to "group camping" and that the (2) "full hook up", $22/night receipt I have actually meant per person. I have been camping for years and have never had a problem like this. I used their website and thought, like usually I paid $22.00/night per site. Which is also what the receipt implies. I had no idea there was a problem. They told me too bad! No refund I should have known better. The biggest concern I have is how I was treated by the office manager. I have never been more astonished at the lack of professionalism and poor decision making by someone called a manager in my life. I am an extremely reasonable person and this misunderstanding could of been handled so differently. It was three weeks before the trip, they could have refunded the $88 back and had a much more satisfied customer and still have 3 weeks to fill the site, which I am sure they could have done. My week-end is not ruined and I feel like I just got told to go to H$#&. read more

We had reservations for 6 families and when we arrived we had were told that 3 families would be on on one camping spot with two plugs - while the spot next to us was considerably larger and had one camper on it. After complaining they found a spot nearby to move one of the families which helped a little with space. Overall, the place was just too crowded. By Friday night you could hardly move around that place. The bathroom cleanliness was questionable- I walked up and saw the young man cleaning and he pointed to the one he had just cleaned and when I walked inside there was still feces in the toilet. read more

Had a great weekend here with the ladies. Six of us stayed in a cabin. There was a heat wave through the Midwest and it was felt up here. The locals said this was the best week ever! For us Floridians, we were hot!!!!! I wished for air conditioning in my cabin. I also wished for hot water in the sink of our cabin. Lots and lots of spiders and carpenter ants in the cabin. But I guess we are out in the woods. We purchased two big bundles of firewood, was $95. I suggest one. Cuz we didn't even use half!!! They don't allow you to bring your own wood. There's a small fridge for food items but it isn't big enough for beer etc. so bring coolers. The shop sells ice for $2 a bag. Not a bad deal. The bags are small but we were so grateful. There is parking next to the cabin for one car and across the cabin along the hill. We were close to the shop, the bathrooms and showers in cabin 3. Just a short walk across the playground. The cabin has a toilet in its own little room and the sink is outside. There is a small coffee maker and some coffee mugs, as well as a microwave. We had a table with two chairs and a bench seating area. There were two patio chairs. So bring more camping chairs. We made a fire one night in the grill and cooked. It worked. We played games and chatted. One day we kayaked and another day we tuned down the river. It was nice that this was all coordinated though RiverView. They have a large bus that drops you off where you need to be. The sell ice down at the bus stop too. So load up your cooler, drag it down there and then get ice to fill it. Overall a great ladies trip. We will be back next year!!! read more

Great campgrounds! There are 5 campgrounds along this stretch of the Rifle River. There can be thousands of tubers on the river on any given Sunday. It's an absolute freak show and they hookup and travel in tied-up packs, but if you bring your own kayak and can drop them and pick up, this is choice. we dropped in further up the river for a 6 hour trip in the kayaks, but waited until 11am. The site informed us that we HAVE to be off the river by 6pm. I don't know who's rules those are, since we weren't using their services, but we were off by 5:30pm anyway. We had the first 4 hours with just our group on the river, until we hit the Moffet bridge where all the campsites drop the tubers. Then the show begins. There are a lot of drunkards, nut jobs and families to dodge so be aware. The river is a little rocky and may be difficult to navigate for novice or young kayakers. Wear durable water shoes and be prepared for rocky patches. Flat bottom kayaks are best on this river. The current is wonky and if your kayak doesn't track well, then you will be fighting to keep it straight the whole trip. We camped in a group of 10, sharing two sites. The campground charges by the person, not the site. Minimum of two nights on the weekend, regardless of if you are staying only one. There are RV spots, full hookup spots, large spots and regular size spots. The two sites was the perfect size for our group. Bring an extension cord, plug bar and pocket hose, and who needs a camper! The campgrounds have their water tested for potability at the beginning of every season, so you can make your coffee from the site supply line and brush your teeth in the shower house bathroom. We had a small camper and two tents on one site; trucks, wood and kayaks on the other. Showers are free and have private stalls with separate changing area, but don't forget your flip flops. The water is regulated so don't expect to turn on and leave it on, you get about 10-15 seconds a push but can keep pushing it on as needed. The restrooms weren't too far of a walk. YOU CANNOT BRING YOUR OWN WOOD. It's a ripoff at $60 for a small bunch, but that's the rules. The check-in building looks like hotel reception and is also a little store for most anything you need during your visit (in case you forgot something). read more

This is the absolute best place to camp on the rifle river! Do NOT go next door to Rifle they have the worst customer service. The people at Riverview are so friendly and happy for you to be there! The store has a huge selection of anything you need, camping supplies, food, a giant beer cave and even clothing! The camp sites are large and there's separate areas for families versus the party crowd. Bathrooms are always clean and well stalked. After 10 years of making Riverview our annual tubing campground. We will never give them another penny. On this last trip, part of our group stayed in cabins and the other part had sites behind them in the full hookup area (We usually only stay in the full hookup area when we go). On Friday night around 10 pm, we were asked to turn our music down by a polite gentleman. No problem at all. We did so. Come Saturday, after our long tubing trip, we get back to our sites and get dinner ready, around 6 pm, an elderly lady with a cane walks down from the house above the cabins and yells at us to turn our music down and is rude to everyone she encountered in our group. Our music was not loud (we asked the other cabins/campers around us). A short while later, we see a campground staff member drives by in a golf cart and we tell them about the lady that yelled at us. He said that it was his mother and drove off. Nothing was said about looking into it all. Later our group walked up to the camp store and we tell the staff about it and they laughed and said that is ridiculous and no one has complained at all to them. Finally, upon our departure, one of our group members goes to book next year's trip only to find out that they want to ban members from our group who the lady yelled at and was rude to. We did not book our trip. We left a one-star review online and the person who responded said that our whole group is now banned. If you look at how they respond to others who leave a one-star review, you will see that they are rude and attacking. After being a loyal customer, they would rather take the word from a bitter old woman instead of trying to resolve the matter (called customer service) and take as much money as they can from you. Just an FYI, this IS a PARTY campground, they charge by the PERSON and not the site so they can get as many people on their campground as possible. There have been times were we walked down to the tent city area and they are at least a thousand people crammed into the area with nowhere to move. Do NOT bring small children to this campground as they will see and hear things that they shouldn't. Also, this is not for those who are easily offended by loud noise at night as well as drunk campers still tying one on from the river. The full hook-up area by the cabins is tight in some spots. Be sure to let them know what the size of your camper is when making a reservation. I would tell them that your camper is larger than it is. I just barely fit my 32' camper in the spot they gave me. read more

Long story short - the staff was all incredibly rude including the manager. Our campground lot was all dirt. It rained and all of our stuff was muddy. Long story: I have 3 step-children. It was their mothers week with the kids so I had to make sure it was okay with her to take the kids. I paid for Myself, all three nights and my tube, and each of the kids for only one night and their tubes for the river float down. A lady emailed me from the campground and explained that we had a remaining balance due for the other 2 nights for each of the kids. I then emailed her back and explained that I needed confirmation from their mother to take them, and received the confirmation for two out of three of them, as one may be starting football and wouldn't be able to go. so I logged back on and paid for the two kids and their other two nights of stay. Which left me with a remaining balance due of 10 dollars, which is two nights for one of the kids. When we got to the campground. We checked in with a lady named Wynette. She told me i had a balance due of 30 dollars because i only paid for each of the kids one night. i tried to explain to her that i logged back in and made an additional payment, but she would not listen to me and insisted that i owed the 30 dollars. when i tried to tell her that i had an additional email she responded with an attitude "ma'am i'm looking at the email and you owe 30 dollars" i had no service so i couldnt pull up my emails to show her, but she wouldnt listen to me at all. i tried to respond "i understand what you're seeing, but i'm trying to tell you that..." and she cut me off and said "you owe 30 dollars" and i said " whatever i'll pay the 30 dollars but i know i dont owe 30 dollars" and she proceeded to tell me how wrong i was and that she's looking at the invoice and i owe 30 dollars. then i mentioned that she was being extremely rude and another lady named Debbie walked up and said "ma'am we're not being rude, you owe the 30 dollars, we're looking at the invoice" and i said "is it ready for me to insert, i dont know why you're sitting here arguing with me when i said i'll just pay the money" another lady in the backgroung literally said " RAWR" at me... the next day i paid for the wifi they offer, which is a dollar a day, however it still didnt work. so when i finally got it to work the morning we were leaving (we stayed thursday through sunday) i went up to the office as soon as i could with my proof - i asked for a manager, she did look up my payment, but when i asked for a customer complaint form, she stated they didn't have any, and handed me a notepad and told me i could write something down. when i asked if she had a manager she responded "yes" and I asked if i could please speak with that person and she said "thats me" and so i asked what was going to be done about the situation, she said " i'll speak with wynette and tell her she should have listened to you" i just handed back the notebook and said thank you for refunding my 20 dollars and left. needless to say, we will not be camping there next year, but will be checking out the campground nearby called Rifle River Campground... our kids also did a can war, and went around campsites asking if they had any cans they wanted to get rid of... each time the kids went up to return the bottles they worked hard to get, the staff was rude to them and had asked them why they were coming in so many times to return cans. and at one point told them they couldn't return any more bottles. The kids did say there was another lady that was nice and helped them out after the lady told them they couldn't come back. I wish i knew her name. all in all, muddy campsite, no grass, rude staff, rude manager, and no customer complaint forms means they have no intention of actually being a good, enjoyable facility, they just want your money, and they know they'll get it since they have a convenient river with a shuttle to float down, and their tubes... Don't go if you want a stress free camp! read more

This place is incredibly professional, clean, and friendly. We had so much fun tubing. I couldn't find any other campground that offers a 4-6 hour tubing trip in Michigan anywhere near Metro Detroit. The 4-6 hour trip is PERFECT for a super hot sunny day. We paid the extra $12 for a cooler tube so we could bring drinks and snacks (totally worth it!). Because it was such a hot day the river was a little busy but it wasn't that big of a deal. There weren't debris or a ton of sharp sticks/logs on the water so it was a very relaxing ride. We even saw baby deer crossing the river! Overall it was a perfect summer day and we can't wait to be back tubing next year. read more

The staff was wonderful from start to finish. We lost our reservation last night due to the tornadoes. We were panicked because it was a holiday weekend, and we had a group of 16 people to make happy. The website was really easy to navigate and send my reservation request. I was even able to specify that we wanted to be in a more "adult only friendly, for large groups" area. I received an email response from the manager an hour later. I called, and told them our situation. She said they had the perfect spot for me, and would send a link to pay for the reservations. When I received the link, it was very quick and easy to confirm and pay. I was even able to send the link to the other members of my party to pay for their portion. This was so much better than worrying about handle everyone's money. When we got to the campground, they were very warm and friendly. The campground is very clean, and you can tell they really care about their guest happiness. We were so worried about settling last minute. Our site was right on the river, and was absolutely beautiful!!! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The site was right across from the vault toilets, which were state park level clean. We were really happy with the amount of trees on the site. Everyone was able to put up their hammocks and relax right away. Our neighbours were really friendly and fun. Everyone in our area had bigger adult party groups, so we didn't make anyone uncomfortable with our loud music and laughter. The showers and main bathrooms were really well stocked, and clean the entire weekend. The staff were regularly monitoring the grounds, campsites, and bathrooms. You could tell they really cared, and they were always really friendly. The tubing trip was one of the best trips we have ever been on. They let us know to be at the meeting area at a specific time, and they had school buses to shuttle us to the drop-off. They went over the rules before leaving, and left right on time. They had a monitor along the route, because of the storm and the downed trees. However, they didn't bother our group or stop the party. It was very clear were to get off the river, and they were already waiting for us with the buses. They helped everyone get out safely, and load the buses, to shuttle back to the campground. Our large group of friends and family have been going to this campground for at least 10 years, but we're done. We booked this trip for a weekend camping/tubing trip. We rented 3 cabins and 2 campsites. Each person/family traveled about 3 hours to get there. The first member of our group brought their camper. They unknowingly arrived before check-in and despite the fact all of the sites and cabins were empty they would not let them come in unless they paid for a full extra night. They decided to wait in the parking lot until they could check in. Nope, can't do that either. There is literally no where else to go hauling a 32 foot camper. They wouldn't let them wait. They had to pay an extra $44 for 2 hours. Whatever, it's done we're going to have a great time anyway. Friday night at 10:00 we're we asked to turn our music down. It's not very loud, but whatever, we turned it down. Weird, but no worries we're going to have a blast anyway. Next day we go tubing and get back around 5:00. We had a great time on the river, prepared dinner and while we were eating, 6:00pm this lady across the road starts yelling for us to turn down the music. It's not even loud. You cannot hear it on the other side of the cabin. We were eating dinner and talking. The member of our party that was out there told her we weren't turning it down, it's not loud, and it's the middle of the day. She basically asked her why she was here if she doesn't like l people having a good time. She screamed, "I live here" and started coming towards her. Some words were exchange and she left. She was so loud, that while I was literally sitting next to the speaker with "blaring music" I heard the entire exchange. She was addressed as ma'am and no foul language was used in the interaction. A different member of our group went to the office to explain what happened and the women there were surprised that this was happening so early in the day and said they would call the manager. Someone drove by in a golf cart claiming to work there, yet she spent the entire time in the house with the yelling old lady. Turns out that was her mother. As a group we had decided to stay again next year, (the tubing is a blast) only in a different part of the park and we're told we weren't welcome back. After posting this on google reviews Riverview responded to my post very unprofessionally, by making jokes and blaming our group. They said we should have been kicked out immediately, yet not one person came and spoke to us after the incident. We did go to all campers and cabins around us to make sure we weren't bothering anyone and were told they couldn't even hear us. I'm an adult and a productive member of society, I have much better things to do than come here and make up stories. I'd also like to mention that this group has been camping together for more than 15 years and has never had a single situation that warranted a poor review of the campground or gotten us "banned". read more

The facilities were OK. The bathrooms and showers near the lake were always packed during peak hours while the larger showers closer to the convenience store are usually empty. The showers are button operated, but do not require quarters. The restrooms behind the showers are individual stalls. There are also outhouses spread out, which are your usual smelly outhouses. The campgrounds aren't well kept. We found lots of geese droppings on the grass that had to be cleaned up prior to camping, and there were seagulls that liked to poop over everything. The convenience store had many last minute items, as well as ice and firewood (about $5/bundle). The WiFi access is mediocre, and Verizon/AT&T/Sprint has almost no coverage. The weather changed quickly and was easily 10-15 degrees cooler than the Southeast Michigan area. The tubes were in decent shape, and there are many shallow areas in the river but there were only a few deep areas. I highly recommend water shoes, sunblock, and coolers to store food and beverages while cruising the river. Our tubing and camping experience was fun mainly because of the company we kept, but it can be very miserable without the right equipment and planning. I would give Riverview 5 stars if we could get more internet coverage throughout the site and if the campgrounds were not littered with geese droppings. Understanding that camping is supposed to be getting "away from it all", sometimes I want to check the weather and see what is going on before I head out on the water. It honestly changed very frequently throughout the weekend, none of the forecasts were accurate. It actually dropped into the 40s in the middle of July. read more

This was our first time at Riverview Campgrounds and we were very happy with our experience. The campground was very nice. We were set up in the family section and it was perfect for our group. The restrooms and showers were ok, (about as good as you can get for public restrooms), but I liked the fact that they were individual rooms. It was nice that there was a store where you could buy snacks, food, water, ice etc... As for the tubing trip, that was great as well. The river was pretty shallow in spots but overall it was a great experience and I loved the fact that you ended your trip right at the campsites. I didn't have much interaction with any staff members but the two that greeted my daughter and I when we showed up that night were very nice and the bus driver to the drop off spot was very friendly as well. We will definitely go back! read more

The campground is in a great location with a beautiful view of the river. Unfortunately, the management and staff were unhelpful and unprofessional from registration through our stay. They did not respond to emails or answer the phone, so there was no way to address questions. We opted to tube using our personal devices (allowed) and the manager followed our group, which included children, by car. He did not accused us repeatedly of breaking rules, but refused to engage in conversation where we could provide any explanation. We were happy to follow rules, that were very unclear, but he was hell bent on embarrassing us. Future camping trips will not be at Riverview. read more

Very nice camp site especially for big groups. Whether you're actually camping or have any of the cabins, it's a nice venue to enjoy a weekend in the summer at. My three stars are for the river. Someone needs to float down the river with a chainsaw and groom the river. Many area have branches hanging down that significantly hinder the ride down the river if you're not careful. When you're floating down with a big group it is quite cumbersome. read more

Would definitely not recommend based on the experience with the owner who was very argumentative, hostile and not customer focused. Basically, don't try to do rafting on your own. It became an explosive situation. In addition, you cannot get a refund if anything changes with your reservation. It is very party focused and the campsites are very close together. They charge you per person instead of per campsite which leads to a much higher cost but less room to camp. The location along the river was pretty and there were ample restroom facilities. read more

Have been camping here yearly for 26 years and started here when was family owned. The entire experience has become an over populated money grab with rude employees including Aggie Malcolm. We were planning to visit friends staying here over the weekend. Arrived at 730PM Sat. We asked for a pass to get in for the visit and were told $20 & must be out by 9PM. We requested more time to visit till 11PM and were told no. Asked to just pay for a night to camp instead so we could stay as long as we needed (even through were only having a visit) this was declined as policy is 2 night weekend minimum, would have been over $80 for a dinner visit. How silly. our friends already had the camping site booked and paid for. I recommend gong next door to Rifle River Campground. This is what we did with much better results. Wonderful staff and we had our visit there at not cost till 11PM. Good luck! read more

I have camped Riverview since 1991, they offered a "Roll over plan" the plan was i could make reservations towards my $ that i'd paid for my 2 large group, camping trips with the same sites on the river; Memorial & Labor day wkends. To be clear with details...I have Kareoke equip. that many campers have came on my site and many people that have gathered for the entertainment and fun. With that being said, the owner's moved me to the other side of the CG 3 yrs ago, to put me with "like minded" people. I was reluctant but, in the end we had larger sites in which i brought larger groups... (prob over $1000'ish prepaid for each camping trip alone + river trip costs.) I'd missed 2 yrs in a row (for family health reasons) so they forfeited my Memorial wkend sites, that was not in the agreement, I'd given them over 45 days notice) I agree that the staff is very RUDE... my friends often commented, "why do they talk to you like that? I don't know why you keep coming back." Labor day wkend 2021 my dog broke her collar, i went to store to ask where closest pet supplier was; it was south 10+ miles of which i didn't wish to get caught in Fri holiday traffic. so i stayed in the store for phone reception and a friend was bringing my other collar. Upon walking out the mgr. Debbie said to buy additional cooler tubes for our dogs to go on the river tubing trip; unless someone is to stay behind at the site. I said we might have someone stay back and walked out. Now as usual we befriended our Neighbors amongst; music, fire etc. i had given the neighbor lady and her adult daughter a key to my trailer but MY dogs are quiet and lazy. I have a 40' 5th wheel with 3 slides. My dog is a 154 lb English mastiff, and a 4 lb teacup Yorkie. i have brought dogs on every camping trip and have went down the river on every trip for the past 30+ yrs. On the day of the trip (Sunday) when getting our tube bracelets, she again stated that we had not added any addtl cooler tubes for pets. ( yea right..154 lb dog for 5 hours in a plastic inflatable). i told her our neighbor was helping. We left out at 11:30 by 12 pm, she had asked all adjacent neighbors if they were providing care for my dogs then proceeded to knock hard on all 5 of my trailers and upset my friend's dogs. Mgr. had asked the male neighbor & son; they said "no, that he was not asked to". His wife and daughter were up at the store (she had the Key and had agreed to tend if necessary). When we got back from tube trip, 4 neighbors from different sites, came to tell me of their encounter with mgt. My husband and i went to office to discuss and assure that i had my dogs overseen if necessary. I also told her that i'd asked females to enter if necessary into trailer because my Mastiff may be "different" with a un-invited male entering the trailer, without our presence. They said they were tired of people leaving dogs behind, unattended, tied up, breaking their leashes and getting loose, tipping over water bowls over on hot days and barking. MY dogs were in a big rig with AC ,on a King sz bed with fresh food and water and a radio on; they could want for nothing. Riverview said they were canceling my "Roll over plan" and then said that I broke the rules and i always act like I'm above the law. Then when I stated that i have had 2 dogs all my life camping, then they commented that "Oh so you think that you don't have to abide by our policies for the past 30 years?" They have never had a complaint until they came and caused a commotion to rile up our well provided pets. This is very disappointing i have spent over half my life (now 53Yrs old) I have quite a supply of coats, hoodies, T's, sweats, hats camper decor etc. of advertising apparel for men/women, that i will give to a shelter (some still with new tags on it) because i will no longer recommend or advertise for. Trust me when i say i brought large groups and recommended alot of my friends, colleagues, and even my customers/patients to come to Riverview and some would return with comments of the rudeness and poor customer service saying that they are all about money and they seem very unhappy with their jobs. Maybe their burned out with every spring, summer & fall of their lives for the past 30 years and the resentment has been showing for years with their unappreciative customer service for loyal patrons of 30+ years. Loved this place! Went for the 4th of July weekend & stayed in a cabin. Sleeps 6, we had 4 adults & it felt comfortable. Bathroom was clean, camp store was reasonably priced, showers were clean, it was great! Wifi connection was mediocre but that's to be expected. Tubbing & kayaking trip was so fun. Word to the wise leave all expensive sunglasses, hats, water bottles, etc at your cabin because it's likely something ( or everything in my case) will fall into the river. I've been coming here for over a decade now with groups sometimes exceeding 50+ people. The campgrounds are well maintained with water and electricity options. There is a small store that has some much-needed last-minute buys for camping or canoeing. They sell ice and firewood. As for canoeing the Rifle River, this is the place you want to stay. Whether you're going down the Moffet (16 mile trip) or the Greenwood (29 mile trip) the grounds will bus you and your coolers up river to your launch point. Then you can make your way downriver back to your campsite! It's perfect! This past weekend, I was there again for my annual trip. I was a little annoyed at the ladies in the front office/store where you check in. They were unorganized and made a few mistakes on my check-in. I'm usually not annoyed by this as long as people are friendly and polite, but these women were lacking personality and friendliness. Aside from this little hiccup, I would totally recommend this campground and will definitely return in the future. read more

This was my first time up here and I had a blast with everyone. We went with a group of 50 people and check in was easy. There was easy accessibility to the bathrooms, showers, and anything you needed. My one bone to pick is the owner, if that's who this guy is. His name was Todd and he came down to our campsite. We were asked to turn the music down and we did, and then the people next to us turned there's on. So we said let's turn ours back up to their level. Todd came back down and threatened to kick us off the property if we didn't turn it off. He then proceeded to call us "Fucking Douche Bags" and said the sheriffs would come down. We told him ok. So with a group of 50 people not all go to sleep at midnight. Todd just stood there and stared us down like a bully. Finally someone asked what he was looking at and he was kind enough to say a bunch of "fucking douche bags". Real smooth Todd. Anyways, we asked why and he said we were still being too loud. At this point it got a little chippy because how is a group of 50 people supposed to not laugh and all use there inside voices to talk? That was the last time we saw Todd. Other than that everything was great. read more

My friends and I have come here for the past 3 years for a friends birthday getaway. It is so much fun and we count down the days to this trip! We always camp-out in the party end of the campground so I can't speak for the rest of the sites but we love it! The campground is very pretty - not a giant parking lot like so many. The restrooms and showers are usually in pretty good, clean condition (although I always recommend wearing flip flops in public showers). The staff is always very accommodating and friendly - customer service has to deal with crabs often so I try to be happy and understanding. Best part about it... they drive you up the road, drop you and your tubes off and you float right to your campsite, PERFECT. Thanks for all the fun RiverView! If you're looking for a party atmosphere and no enforced quiet times, this is the place for you. My group was all about that (although, I'm personally more a fan of quieter camping). The restrooms were well-maintained, the staff was friendly and helpful. If I were a partier, I'd have given this 5 stars. I would say, I wish that quiet hours were actually enforced. Loud music all hours of the day and night and a "frat house" like atmosphere - even in the "family" section? No thanks. Also, be sure you can go at all cost after you pre-pay for your reservations, because they give absolutely NO REFUNDS! So even though my wife was called into work the weekend we planned to go, we still had to pay the $68 for our camp site, regardless of the fact that there were 15 other family members on our sites! And what other campground charges PER PERSON?? I've never heard of such expensive camping in my life. Anyway, wasted our money again at River View. Hope you put our $68 to good use. Went canoeing with my father here and was impressed by the place. Huge piece of land, well-staffed, friendly, and they kept the grounds tidy. Van driver was friendly and prompt. The composite canoes they offer are highly recommended. The canoeing (Greenwood route) took about 6 hours with lunch and drink stops, and it was a blast. The river is nice and easy for beginners. Surroundings are beautiful. read more

Been having our annual trip here for the past 5 years, and everyone loves it. Come Sunday, we are all dead silent packing up to go home. It's that sad lol! We originally started Friday-Sunday, then we changed it to Thursday-Sunday, and we are changing again next year to Wednesday-Sunday. We always camp in the group section, and have never had a problem. rude staff, tried to get me to pay for people that was not in my group, Todd was very rude, unprofessional, staff members, drunk, and will harass your kids, and try to attack them. tried to charge me for for my daughters friends whom, already paid. racism.watched my camp site the whole time It was parked their. My son was scared, because he stated they staff came everyday, all day watching him. I was yelled at in the office by 6 staff members, including Todd, trying to get me to paid more money. read more
