I've done this tour before. And happy to do it again. I do have a friend visiting from out of town. And we thought this would be a cool learning experience. Ashton and Marie were our tour guides. Explaining pretty much everything about their cheese. Each cheese is like its only personality. Your is about 2 hours. At the end you get to sample their cheese. And local crackers, jams, honey, etc. all for purchase as well. They do have a new cheese, not available for sale yet. They are still perfecting it. It was perfect to me. Peppercorn wine. I was gifted a cheese making class for my bday. It wasn't what I was expecting, but i did learn a lot about cheese!! The class is 12 people max. The two people who were giving the class were very passionate and knowledgeable about cheese! It was cool to see what it takes to make cheese and how much science there is behind it! Will I ever make it at home. No. But I definitely appreciate cheese more now when I eat it thinking of the process. Their blue cheese is not the regular "blue cheese". It's more creamy than crumbly. It is worth a taste even if you aren't a blue cheese fan. read more

A family member passed away on April 10th. I had a cheese class scheduled on April 11th. I kindly emailed the staff to ask to reschedule (not refund) due to an emergency. I received a phone call from the owner saying that was not possible and I had to give five days notice of the death to reschedule. I would urge the business to have more empathy for customers. They stole my $300. read more

I came here for a tour of the creamery. They make a variety of local cheeses and are a small business. The tour guide, I didn't get his name, was pleasant and informative. He answered all of our questions and has been working there for a long time. They also offer some cheese-making classes and I will take one later this summer. It was interesting to hear about how the ideas blossomed into a whole operation. The facility is very clean and sanitary. We even got to sample the cheeses which was right up my alley. It is a short experience, only about an hour, and it runs for $10. I thought it was cool and entertaining. I like learning about the origins of food. read more

What a treat today @riverwheycheese for a curated tasting. Celebrating my neighbor Judy early for her birthday. This was a first for Judy, Michele, and myself. We brought our own wines (Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir) to enjoy with the courses. Susan shared many stories, including this culinary journey. Thomas prepared and plated each tasting. Dynamic duo! After the tasting, you can buy cheeses, condiments, and more. I bought the Garden Crisp, which has arugula and celery seeds, and the Onion & Balsamic Jam. We took a cheese tasting & tour today of River Whey Creamery. The manager, Jaicen was our tour guide . He is very knowledgeable and that she's making process and explain so many things to us as a group. It was really nice getting to know him and what all is entailed in making cheese. These guys make it easy being cheesy! Cheese tours! We booked a tour of this creamery online, which was easy. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and friendly, and took the time to answer all of our many, many, many questions. We were led through one room after another, where we were shown walk in coolers and industrial refrigerators filled as full as they can comfortably get with wheels and wheels of cheese! Some of the cheeses were covered with mold, others in wax. As we were led through the cheeses, our guide told us a bit about how each one was made, what went into it, his role in the manufacturing process, what they go with, and a little anecdote about each cheese. You could tell that there's some real pride here, they are proud of their cheeses, and know that they're doing great work! I was disappointed that a cheese "cave" wasn't what I 'thought it was. I was hoping to get to peer in some holes in the ground. Instead, a cheese cave is a walk-in cooler, like you see at restaurant kitchens. At the end of the tour, they sampled all of the cheeses they sell, and had them available to sell in smaller quantities at reasonable prices. With each cheese sample, the tour guide handed out, with a good explanation about each cheese. "Trading cards" were available for free, where they explained good pairings with each of the cheeses. On the trading cards, some extra facts about the cheese, along with the pairings would've been appreciated. The place was super, super clean. I like that in a creamery. The whole tour took place on appointment, and took about an hour or so. Parking was easy. Finding it wasn't terribly easy- our navigation program took us somewhere down the street. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes cheese! read more
