I came here for a tour of the creamery. They make a variety of local cheeses and are a small business. The tour guide, I didn't get his name, was pleasant and informative. He answered all of our questions and has been working there for a long time. They also offer some cheese-making classes and I will take one later this summer. It was interesting to hear about how the ideas blossomed into a whole operation. The facility is very clean and sanitary. We even got to sample the cheeses which was right up my alley. It is a short experience, only about an hour, and it runs for $10. I thought it was cool and entertaining. I like learning about the origins of food.

What a treat today @riverwheycheese for a curated tasting. Celebrating my neighbor Judy early for her birthday. This was a first for Judy, Michele, and myself. We brought our own wines (Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir) to enjoy with the courses. Susan shared many stories, including this culinary journey. Thomas prepared and plated each tasting. Dynamic duo! After the tasting, you can buy cheeses, condiments, and more. I bought the Garden Crisp, which has arugula and celery seeds, and the Onion & Balsamic Jam. Looking forward to sharing it with my hubby and Dad. We had a tour of the facility and learned more about the cheese making process.

We took a cheese tasting & tour today of River Whey Creamery. The manager, Jaicen was our tour guide . He is very knowledgeable and that she's making process and explain so many things to us as a group. It was really nice getting to know him and what all is entailed in making cheese. River Whey cheeses have been in production since October 2014 and are available at H-E-B Central Markets and Whole Foods Markets all across Texas, Antonelli's Cheese Shop in Austin, TX and many other local restaurants, hotels, wineries, and shops. For more information about wholesale to chefs, hotels, and restaurants, visit our contact page and send us a message. Susan's Rigg the owner & founder had a passion for producing cheeses that are truly unique has resulted in five fine aged cheeses: Keystone®, Caldera España®, The Welshman®, Indigo Ridge®, and Whey Blue®. Plus five beautiful fresh cheeses - St. Clements® and Cranberry Frost® in the winter months, Midsummer Surprise® and Garden Crisp . We got to taste test all these cheeses, except the seasonal ones. My very favorite was the Welchman.

I was not disappointed. I bought three different types of cheese. Staff was super nice. They took their time with me. They let me taste the cheese before I bought it. They gave great recommendations. They also sell tiny pieces of cheese that are leftover when they cut for bigger orders. I bought a few of those to taste. The store also has balsamic vinegar, oils and gift ideas that go great with cheese. Parking is available on site, but shared with the other businesses. I'm so glad that I now have a place where I can get some great cheese from other countries. For those that want a charcuterie board made, they do that too

Out of all the cheeses I tasted, and I tasted many of them The rosemary manchego was definitely my favorite cheese. Now that I found a really cool little cheese shop, I definitely will be going back and the hospitality was wonderful that definitely will be drawing me back as well.

I wanted to get this for my book club soiree, but did not have time to make a visit as it is a little north of downtown. Antonelli's Cheese Shop is charming and quaint. While the shop is small they have an assortment of items to sell in addition to cheese - wine, sauces, jellies, etc. I was immediately greeted upon entry into Antonelli's cheese shop. Two other customers were being helped, however, I had a store associate offer me some cheese samples. While the samples were good, I was specifically interested in the three cream cheese. They had two choices to select from. I was hoping they had more. This is a shop you need to spend some time in to leisurely evaluate the cheeses. There was also a human size dog in the shop at the time. I don't know what is about dogs, they like to lick me. Guess what...I do not like to be licked. So, I jetted out of the store.

They have wine, jams/jelly/preserves. Chocolates, and olives. They also have premade charcuterie boards too. When I came, they were giving away free cheese everyday of the week. The first 100 people that were in line. Free cheese? Yes please. As you can imagine, there was a long line of people waiting, and with the store being small, we were sent in in small groups. Couple people come out, couple people go in. As the line shortens and you get to the counter. You're given your free cheese, and asked what type of cheese you like. I gave my favorites, soft cheese, like brie, hard cheese, like manchego I like spicy cheese like hatched chili cheese or a jalapeño cheese. So after giving some examples of cheese that I like the gentleman helping me brought out three different samples and we tried them together and loved every one of them so I chose which ones I liked out of the three and then we moved down the counter a little bit, and the gentleman brought out another selection of three cheeses, and I tried those and told him which ones I liked, and they were all phenomenal. The gentleman that helped me was very attentive. He listened. he gave examples exactly what I was asking for and it was absolutely beautiful experience. even though they were packed and crazy and had 100 people waiting outside. He just treated me like we were just one on one. He took his time with me. I thought it was such a spectacular experience very personable. I walked out with 5 different cheeses. A bar of orange chocolate with dried cherries. And a baguette. And let me tell you, I ate so good during our Texas ice storm 2026! So here's the down side. Parking. There are like 8 parking spots in front. And a couple parking in the back. But beyond the back, there is a small pay with a QR code parking. It's a bit of a struggle as far as parking goes. There is no street parking. But I'm sure when you're not dealing with 100 customers it's not as much of a struggle. There are 2 accessible parking spots out front. Had a great experience. And will come back again.

We started out the day with a cheese tasting & rose on the way out to the dairy. The bus was very comfortable and the team was so lively on the bus ensuring we had a great time. Amelia & Hope were so kind and gave us a tour of their land and their daily process. We got to visit with the goats and do a tasting of their cheeses with some delicious pairings and I understand why they've won so many awards! I could eat a whole tub of those cheeses no crackers needed haha. We returned back to Antonelli's tasting room to end with raclette & some pairings and just debrief about the whole day and it was wonderful. The team really did think of everything, down to providing booties for us at the farm. The rain that day was a non factor, as they said, it was a grand soft day!

Up until it's final day Rebel Cheese has been excellent in food, atmosphere, and service. The space was always clean and there were plenty of foodstuffs to peruse in their store. Every single cashier has been kind and friendly. The food always came out fresh and hot. Online ordering is easy and my products arrived right on time. No complaints! Being a mail order customer isn't for the faint of wallet because it makes sense to order at least six cheeses at a time, and that's not a small amount of money. Trying to factor in the timing is also part of the experience. Some of their cheeses can be frozen, and some are recommended to not be, like the brie. They recommend consuming the cheeses within 7 days of opening. It's just my husband and me in the household, so finishing a whole package of cheese in a week's time could be daunting. Speaking of the brie, it wasn't my favorite of the selection I received, which was a curated collection of Lorie's from Shark Tank. When we first got the delivery Dear Hubby and I set up a charcuterie tray for ourselves as a late lunch / early dinner. So many wonderful tastes! It was a delightful experience to mix the cheeses with crackers, salamis, Mediterranean olives, and fruit / jam. The sweet chevre offering was divine. Might have been my favorite. We opened four of the cheeses to sample them and left two for later. It's been wonderful for me to have better vegan cheeses than what the local grocery stores tend to stock. Real flavor! Real creaminess! With the holidays approaching, I'm considering when to place another order to carry me through the time when having special cheese would add to the edible side of the season.

You get to visit 5 different stops (mine was only four since it was the starting phase). I went on a Sunday tour, the tour differs between the two based on the dessert place (La Boulangerie on Saturday, Paleteria on Sunday). The tour was great, we start at Ocho, you get a taste of one of the popular dishes and history on SA, then start on foot towards Luke, receiving information about the city on the way. I enjoyed a great little dish and drink at Luke, then headed on to Nectar, and got a HUGE sampling of the meats and cheeses that they offer, from there we head to Zinc. At Zinc I tried one of the best guacs in town, and saw some of my fellow tour-ers the purchase a Prickly Pear Margarita, which was really really pretty. (Typically you visit a desert place last, but because i went on the tour before the Paleteria was confirmed, we skipped this stop.) The SA Food Tours staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they've put a lot of time and hard work into the tour, and its a great way to experience San Antonio's food scene and get some history at the same time. I've lived here all my life and learned and tried new things on the tour, it's worth it!
