Love the park and ride, it's a relief being able to drink alcohol and not have to worry about calling an uber or cab. The park and ride allows you the opportunity to just relax, and enjoy the experience. If you log onto their website they have different tour packages. We did the Guadalupe River tour. We stopped at 3 Winery's and a distillery and tried some moonshine. We stopped for lunch in Comfort, Tx which was a cute little town. You get out and enjoy a some time looking around before moving on with the tour. The winery's they take you to are just amazing. What you get for the price is such a great deal. We never felt rushed. They allowed us to sight see and allowed us to just take our time to enjoy each winery. Diana or Robin even took our photos.

Our guide Diana was delightful & gave us tips on wine tasting & the process of wine production. She even offered the history of winery's in the Texas Hill Country & the local town Boerne. So if you or your group are in San Antonio look up Cottonwood Wine Tours & book yourselves for a fine day out!

Even though we understood the cancellation policy, we reached out to Richard just hours before departure. He was incredibly understanding and gracious enough to provide us with a credit to use toward a future tour. That level of customer service and kindness truly stood out to us. I also spoke with several of the women who were able to attend, and they had nothing but rave reviews about the experience. I was definitely disappointed to miss it, but I'm very much looking forward to rebooking and taking advantage of the credit we were given!

Our drive Vic was very professional and explained how the day would go before we took off. We stopped at two wineries, with a delicious Italian meal served at the second one. Everyone in my group had a great time. Vic always gave us the times we needed to be ready to go so we were always well informed. He also gave us the option of another winery or an hour or so in Fredericksburg. We choose to do a little browsing in Fredericksburg. Even though it was very hot, we enjoyed our time there. It did take some doing to get this make-up trip scheduled. The Winos are not the best at communicating. But they vowed to double my paid tickets to make up for the mishap from months ago and they kept their word.

First off, let me start by saying our driver Nate, was an absolute doll. He was the only good part about the experience with this company. The company is called San Antonio Wine Tours, their website says they are based out of SA and pickup in SA. When booking a half day tour, their website says there is only enough time to go to dripping springs. So I booked dripping springs and requested and additional hour to have lunch. Upon calling to update my reservation I was told the extra hour I purchased would go towards travel time. TBF dripping springs is 1.5 hours from my home and they said ppl usually spend 45min-1hr at the wineries. That being said, why does the basic half day package say there's enough time to go to dripping springs only, which I chose, yet my additional hour has to be used for travel. It didn't quite add up. So I explained this to them and was given the response "oh, I guess the website needs to be corrected". Also, they just asked "do you want to cancel?" No attempting to right their wrong. I soon realized it's probably bc the deposit I put down was non refundable so they probably didn't care bc they already had some of my money. I was told that apparently they have been pulling this since they started 2 years ago and the website was supposed to have been "corrected" many times before this. So buyer beware, this company practices dishonest and what I feel is shady business. They also seem to not care about if the customer is upset and only about the money that can get.

The tour is operated by Gray Line Tours bus service so this review is for that only, not of the Explorer Pass and not of Groupon. We really enjoyed the tour! I wouldn't say it's worth $109, but a Google search will yield you lots of partners selling the tour tickets at a discounted rate. Regarding booking, we tried to call the toll-free number on a Sunday for a Monday tour (need to reserve at least 24 hours ahead), but the office was closed. However, the automated message directed us to a cell phone number to call to reach someone directly for booking. My friend texted that number--omitted here for privacy but obtainable by calling the Gray Lines Tours number--and received a response within 5 minutes, if that. I also called a different number and left a voicemail message just in case, and I was called back within an hour or so and also texted. I really appreciate the effort on the booking agent's part! Once we were in touch, we provided our San Antonio Explorer Pass voucher numbers over the phone and were told that pickup from our hotel would be at 8:30-8:45 am. We made sure to be downstairs, ready, and visible from the street. The bus arrive within that allocated time. The bus driver called out my friend's name and we boarded. There were a bunch of others already picked up, and we picked up a few others along the way. We made a pit stop for bathroom and food about an hour in. The bus driver was super friendly, passionate about his job, and accommodating of passengers' requests. He gave us a lengthy and useful history of the major landmarks, the towns we passed, the important people and what made them significant, and of course much information about LBJ and his wife, Lady Bird. We stopped by the Boyhood Home of LBJ, the Texas White House on the LBJ Ranch, and saw many animals including longhorns up close and personal. We also got to check out the Air Force One-Half, the plane in which LBJ flew. We stopped by Fredericksburg TX for 2 hours to enjoy Main Street and have lunch. The pickup spot was easy to find. It's a huge bus after all! We also stopped by Luckenbach, a small centralized area of land in a town with a history of music and German migrants. We opted not to stop at the optional winery based on another majority vote. We were driven back right near where we were picked up and were back to our hotel around 6pm.

No vehicle ever came, and I received no call, message, or explanation from the company. A complete no-show with zero communication. I was left stranded with no time to arrange an alternative tour, and as an overseas visitor I couldn't rebook for another day. I emailed and called the company multiple times and have yet to hear back. Other online reviews reveal the same behaviour. Disappointing and unprofessional. If you're relying on this tour as part of a fixed itinerary, be aware it may not turn up.

Also, they offered a pizza meal and it turned out to be Dominos. No offense to them but I was expecting a sit down inside with something more local. Not even paper plates and napkins. Weirdly had no music playing for the majority of the trip, guide blamed it as being unfamiliar with SA radio stations since she had just driven in from Houston. The tours are supposed to consist of three brewery/winery/distillery visits, I'd assumed it would be all of the same category i.e. all brewery or all winery but we had a two for one perk visiting Ranger Creek Brewing & Distillery in that we were getting to try their beers and whiskeys. We'd anticipated a bit of a story and a tour of the facility but honestly this one went on waY too long. Still, this visit was the high point once we realized we weren't limited in our samples and they were pouring full pints. Back on the bus to New Braunfels Brewing Co., a brewery known for its sour beers, many made with fruity elements and one spiced pickle beer. These were honestly a trip, we were presented two drink tickets and I sampled a pink beer, sour, and a splash of the pickle beer, spicy and sour. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it, one of the homies running the establishment sounded like Seth Rogen so that was a treat. The majority of the bus seemed to really dislike the visit though and I saw a few people tossing beers into sinks or nearby plants. Our last stop was the Grapevine, something I was super looking forward to but wound up being the most disappointed. I was anticipating a couple sweet glasses of wine to wind up the trip but after fighting downtown traffic down a narrow road, we were told we'd get 45 minutes to wander around since that's how long our host figured it'd take the bus to circle back. It was so disorganized, we literally just walked in to what felt like a super crowded gift shop where five or six people poured samples down a long bar. The wine samples offered, while delicious, were barely enough for a SIP. I asked our guide if we were supposed to tell them something to get actual glasses of wine and she told us we had to purchase the drinks, only the samples were free and only three samples at that. Okay, so what was all the money we spent on the tickets actually going towards? We got our tickets at a convention where they were offering a special price, 2 for $100 I think, then the day of the tour we were told to bring $20 cash for a tasting fee. What the what? Even after alllllll that, during the drive back to the drop-off point, our guide announces both she and the bus driver work for tips. $70+ at the end of the day and barely caught a buzz.
