Delicious food quickly made and favorable carnitas and chorizo tacos. I parked myself on one of the picnic tables to enjoy the sun while devouring this simple yet amazing tacos. With radishes and two different salsa allowed me to mix things up between bites though I opted for the salsa verde as the red salsa was hot and spicy for me to enjoy long term. The other patrons were enjoying the sun and music blasting from their truck. The Yelp reviews for Rivera Express are impressive and I know how Delawareans can make a cult following out of the most unassuming establishments. I drive by here pretty often and finally decided to STOP and take heed. It's is indeed a food truck but as far as I know it doesn't travel. They operate between the Royal Farms and a dry cleaners. The menu is posted on the front and they have as good a selection of meats for your meal as El Pique, my favorite. Prices are comparable too but I didn't see any specials like "$5.00 Taco Tuesday. I ordered the tacos Al Pastor. I found the meat a little dry and the pineapple a tad overwhelming. El Pique has pineapple in the marinade and it comes through without adding more in the topping. I prefer theirs. What Rivera does add that I liked was a grilled scallion and jalepeno at no extra charge as well as two delicious sauces. El Pique charges .49 cents for these extras. read more

Great service. Very good tacos. Reasonable price. I'm a tough taco critic. I have had some of the best tacos in the country and I go hard on the tacos I make at home. This place had good tortillas, kept things simple, and had the touches that made me miss my local taco shops back home. The pastor was super good. The carnitas and bistec was very good, but the flavors on them were a little flat relatively speaking. My wife got a burrito. I've had smothered Tex Mex burritos, but I've never seen a burrito topped with so much sour cream and lettuce and tomato. Definitely overkill on the toppings IMO. Staff was friendly, food came out quick, great social distancing practices. That speaks to how much they care about their customers. Looking forward to going back! read more

This is my go to along with the location in Bear (my preferred location) since this is near my moms we do frequent this location also. This location is definitely hit or miss. Some times like this particular visit every was fresh, hot very tasty and satisfying. I have been to this new castle location where I've literally thrown away my food in disappointment. The four stars are for this particular visit in New Castle plus the Bear location is alway on point!! The New Castle location I never order the food, I have my husband or male friends order. I've been eating at the NC location for many many years and it has always been when a male orders the food it is put together 85% better. This is years worth of experience to be 100% confident to say that in a review. That's just the way it is at the New castle location. As far as my experience with just dealing with the friendly service I received as soon as I arrived is the reason it a automatic 3. The dish I chose was the taco's, to be more specific it was the "Tripe" taco which those are I believe $2.50 a piece so I ordered 3. Well first thing first, I've never even had "Tripe" before ever but wanted to try it after some food reviewers off YouTube claimed it was so good. Let's just say I think df otherwise. Nope never again and you know it's not this business fault cause If you do actually like it already, here you'd love it. Probably one of the two best places to get food in Bear, Delaware. I get loaded tacos here- I tried pork tacos and steaks tacos. Both of the tacos were delicious, and I prefer the steak. I used to rev up Rivera Taco to everyone and anyone I ever talked! But in the past year this food truck has really gone down hill! They have absolutely no appreciation for their customers! Every time I order and do pick up they mess up our orders and don't include things like jalapeños and onions even when you ask them to. For todays order, they messed up one too many times as they not only messed up our orders even after clarifying over the phone n then reminding them again before pick up, they raised their prices exorbitantly! I really wanted to like this place since I've heard good recommendations for it but I wasn't the biggest fan. I got the chicken tacos - and decided to get them loaded because why not? I wish I hadn't though, because that meant adding lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. That took away from the authenticity of the tacos. The meat didn't look amazing either. The salsa, however, was really good and spicy! I came here again to try the chicken quesadilla this time because a coworker told me that's what I should have gotten the first time. I was let down again, because the pieces of quesadilla at the bottom of the box were soggy and unappetizing. This place does get pretty busy so maybe I haven't been getting the right things on the menu.
