The restaurant is so colorful!

This place was packed on Cinco de Mayo, as expected. Got takeout of 3 different tacos and 3 chicken tamales. Portions were generous and prices a bargain. Maybe the tamale filling could have included more chicken as it seemed mostly masa dough. Tacos were generously filled. They do give 2 types of hot sauce but maybe the filling could have been juicier. Loved the grilled onion that looked like a very fat scallion. The place has been renovated since I was there several years ago. It's very colorful with the traditional Mexican themes. I'll definitely return.

A hidden gem from the outside but the inside is amazing! Fun atmosphere & very welcoming staff. Service was prompt & food came out quickly. Food was SO fresh and yummy. We ordered the queso dip, steak fajitas, and burrito a la Mexicana. Portions were massive and we took a lot of food home for a super fair price. We will definitely be coming back!

Another great visit! Delicious food. Good service. We'll be back soon! The shrimp enchiladas were so good. All entrees were enjoyed.

Love coming to Taqueria Atexcac. It's my favorite local option for authentic Mexican food. The ambiance inside is great. The service is always friendly and customer service is great in both spanish and english. The house made tortilla chips are some of my favorites i've ever had! My go to's are the horchata agua fresca and quesabirrias.

This was a great find. A true hole in the wall. The outside is very deceiving. Uhaul trucks taking up a lot of the parking lot but once inside it packs a yummy punch. They even had a Tamarindo drink just like my mom would make it. I was skeptical of good Mexican in Delaware but they did not disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. The tacos, ceviche, sopes were great. If you're hungry the mixed fajita was massive. Yummy

The portions were HUGE! Definitely authentic. The furniture is impressive. You would never expect this place, next to a cellphone store, to be so delicious. Our server was sweet but we think there was a language barrier because she forgot a drink and never returned with our check. Overall, I would recommend and would go back.

This hole of the wall restaurant is adjacent to a grocery store. My friends and I almost missed the turn when we put the restaurant in our GPS. When we walked in I knew it was going to be good and authentic! The servers were very nice and explained any questions we had (never had cactus before!). I decided to go with a disk that was the normal Mexican fare. I forgot what it was called now but it's consisted of meats (bacon, chriozo, ham, chicken) and peppers with a glob of cheese on top. Omgg we got so much food! My dish was absolutely delish and came with warm tortillas. I also ordered a side of rice since it didn't come with it. Be warned if you order water they will give you a bottle of water and charge you for it (I guess you could ask for tap water too?). Had a great dinner in this hidden gem and it was great to support local businesses!

Nachos de Queso

They charge for salsa. And they are super rude. If you are not Mexican. Their bathroom is super dirty too.

Was in the area visiting family and we were looking for a quick, easy bite when we came across Casa…read moreMezcal--our first time here. We stopped in on a Tuesday evening and were seated right away. It wasn't busy when we arrived, and while it did start to fill up, there was never a wait. The restaurant itself was clean and casual, and they do serve alcohol (it looked like they have happy hour specials as well, though we didn't try any). They brought out complimentary chips and salsa to start, with a note on the menu that a second basket comes with a charge. One thing to be aware of: the chips are not made in a dedicated fryer, so they aren't gluten-free. Service was a bit of a mixed experience. There was definitely a language barrier, which made communication difficult at times--our questions often had to go through multiple staff members before we got an answer. Food came out pretty quickly, which we appreciated since we were in a rush. That said, there were some hits and misses. I ordered tacos al pastor but was given steak tacos instead. I tried to explain the mix-up, but it wasn't resolved, and due to time, I just ate them. Unfortunately, the steak was overcooked and tough, and the tacos themselves were very basic--just meat on a corn tortilla, with extras like sour cream costing more. On the plus side, my nephew really enjoyed his kids' cheese quesadilla and fries (the fries looked crispy and well-made). Someone in our group liked the chorizo quesadilla, and another had the birria tacos and thought they were just okay--nothing standout, especially compared to other places. Pricing felt a bit high for the portion size and overall quality. There is a small parking lot, but we didn't have trouble finding a spot, which is always a plus. Overall, Casa Mezcal was convenient and quick, but between the order mix-up, inconsistent food quality, and communication challenges, it didn't fully hit the mark for us. I'd consider giving it another try if I were in the area, but with adjusted expectations.

Don't order takeout from here. Forgot my drink and my cutlery can't even eat my dinner.read more

On…read moreCinco de Mayo I intended to visit but much to my amazement they were SLAMMED and I mean their entire parking lot was full, and also the parking lot for The Brass Tap as well, it was intense. So I opted not to go because I wanted to experience their atmosphere, customer service and food on a normal day of operation. Fast forward to the evening after Cinco de Mayo. I came in and I was kindly greeted, and since I was flying solo I went to the bartender was quick to greet me, got my chips and salsa to me (which is on the house), and took my drink order. The music was very festive on the inside, the wraparound bar is a nice touch, and the atmosphere overall definitely sets a vibe. I ordered some queso dip cause, why not and it paired nicely with the salsa. I then proceeded to order the Quesabirria Taco dish that was phenomenal and I HIGHLY recommend. The birria consommé that comes with it, it so good so dip those tacos like your tastebuds depend on it. To say the least I am glad I went there the day after Cinco de Mayo and while I'm sure it was a vibe itself, I don't think I would have quite gotten the service and experience I did when they are operating on a normal day. All good things in moderation I guess‍.

The service truly needs to be retrained. I apologize but when I ask for a sour cream it means I want it now, not in 10 minutes. By the time the staff returns, my whole quesadilla will be gone, yet you will still charge me $1 for it. Crazy I won't lie. The staff genuiwnly will not check on their tables for 2-3 business days, so visitors please take that into account. The chefs back there deserve a big kiss but I do not love the attitude and lack of service from the waiters/waitresses. Again, when I ask for a water after finally finding you, it means I want it now. Not in 10 minutes. I'm sorry to be harsh. I hate bringing out my dark side. But I spend hours in this God forsaken place because the staff does not check on their tables. Mind you, please get an AC system- you are doing a disservice to your customers. Other than that, I adore your tacos especially the Baja ones because wow those have a nice little tang to them. Brings me back to Cuba. I really do appreciate the chefs in the back, specially that one cutie with dimples on not one but BOTH sides. lol you're adorable. Please take this as constructive criticism, per the 5 stars (you're welcome( but I am looking for improvements IF I return)). Sending love all the way from my home. Enjoy your Mexican food.

Our server Sierra was the Best. She was very personable, and knowledgeable, she gave some Great recommendations for both food and drink, and had a great sense of humor. We were quite indecisive, but she stayed very patient. We were all so very pleased with her, we needed to let someone know how great she was so we asked her to send the manager over. Patrick, the manager on duty came quickly, and was just as pleasant as Sierra. Job well done with these two great employees Santa Fe. You will definitely see us back soon!!!!
