Beware of Janky business practices !!!!!!! To start they arrived late , they came at the very end of the time window they provided which definitely made things stressful. Their policy is that you pay up front, but the quote that the drivers provided was completely different from the original quote from customer service . The total move amount was now $1,000 but over the phone they quoted me $800+ . Mind you , I have a 1-bdrm apartment, so they would be moving about 20+ boxes , a king bed & bed frame, a glass table w/ 6 chairs & a 6 seat sectional couch . In my opinion the movers were strategic with taking their time , making sure to add as much time on the clock as they could . It took them 4 hours to clear out my 700sq ft apartment in which I found to be completely ridiculous . I asked the movers if they wanted to follow me to the next location but they insisted that they would meet me there . I made it to my new apartment in less than 15mins as it is less than a mile away from my previous location. It took the movers 45 additional minutes to meet me at the next location. As they started to move the stuff into my new apartment, they told me it would require additional time for them to setup the stuff they disassembled. They completely stopped the move & told me I had to sign the revision for them to continue.To be clear they were attempting at add an additional 2.5 hrs I immediate called corporate & spoke with their manager . The manager was extremely rude , nasty & very unhelpful . He blamed me for everything and held no accountability towards the movers. He gave me the option of paying the extra money or the drivers are leaving . The manager continued to blame me, even telling me I didn't read the fine print & that it was just my problem . This was the worse moving experience I've ever witnessed . They left with out assembling any of my furniture. I don't fault the drivers as they are only following instructions but it's the business side of this company they I find flawed . They purposely give you a lower quote to get you to book the service but when they arrive they charge you for way more stating this is the maximum expected charge . BEWARE!!! If you want your furniture SLID ACROSS the bed of the truck and completely damaged then this is the right company for you!! It gets better, Anthony made several promises to help me, but when the damages were getting too high, and we were "too far apart" he sent me to his claims department and washed his hands of me! When I got to the claims department out of winnipeg , I was told .30 cents on the pound and HUNG UP on by Jessica when I started talking about how much my furniture cost me. Basically I am getting nothing back and I have THOUSANDS of dollars in damaged furniture! PLEASE PLEASE do yourself a favor and think twice and do your research before using this company!!! THEY ARE HORRIBLE!! There is ZERO professionalism AFTER they get the sale ! I have storage units that I haven't even seen yet that they packed up, and I am SURE there will be more damage! My husband and I heard so many wonderful things about this company, we just HAD to use them for our move. Unfortunately our experience was terrible. They showed up several hours late for our move so we ended up not finishing until almost midnight. We felt terrible for the moving crew who had clearly been double booked for that afternoon. The crew that moved us out also failed to label any items that they wrapped which only caused our move out crew further delays. Before completing payment we tried to reach out to the company considering they charge WAY more than other movers because they supposedly offer exceptional service and no one ever got in touch with us except to say that if we did not complete payment, they would send it to collections. Our flat screen tv got totalled also ! WHERE IS THEIR INSURANCE ? Horrible customer service. Horrible quality. Way over priced. Maybe they used to be good? I hired Riverbend movers for a residential move within Winnipeg. A price quote was given to me over the phone - in that conversation I listed the larger items to move, plus number of bedrooms, sq. footage, etc. No one ever came to the home to see what actually had to be moved. I said I had a heavy treadmill, as well as washer & dryer set, but seemed to be no problem. When it came time to move, I was told that day that the movers couldn't move my treadmill, as they didn't want to risk not being able to set it up properly at the new home. This turned into a huge headache for me, wished I'd known this ahead of time, as I had only a few days to get the treadmill out of my old place and into the new one and had alot of trouble trying to find someone who could move it and quickly. This company is very unprofessional when giving estimates and there is a very rude and unhelpful person who answered the phone. I submitted a request for an estimate online and I received what I believed to be an estimate for what information I provided to them online. I responded to the emailed estimate that I would like to move forward with it and asked them to call me. They did not call me. I called and spoke to Angela. She laughed at me and said she didn't have any info so how could they have given an estimate?? .... As I'm looking at the estimate (3 men, 1 truck, $349-$404). I say I'm looking at an estimate, she asks how can there be an estimate if she has no inventory? I submitted the inventory thru my online request. Long story short, couldn't get past her unprofessionalism and better than me attitude. I don't like being treated like a child. I wouldn't take a chance at being treated this poor. read more

They didn't show up. What more can you say? I reserved them 3 weeks in advance for a 25 person office move. I paid the deposit. I asked to be the morning move and was told that wouldn't be an issue as I was one of the first people to book them for that particular day. They called to confirm a day before the move. They said late morning, early afternoon arrival. The day of the move... they didn't show up. They didn't call. Nothing. I called 4-5 times throughout the day and everytime they said "we're working on getting a crew to you." But could never give me an ETA. Finally at 4:00 I called again, they said they wouldn't be able to come move my office, but they "might" be able to come the next day. Their explanation. "We just got too busy." I then called SHORTLINE MOVING and they were exceptional and moved my company the following day. read more

Don't use these guys unless you don't mind having your belongings ruined! I've moved many times, usually cross country, and am accustomed to some damage with each move but these guys ruined most of my furniture! Nothing we had was more than 3 years old and now not a single table, end table, or chest of drawers doesn't have deep scratches or gashes. They broke the leg of my king bed, the master bedroom dresser, and a small desk (the desk was of cheaper quality but the other furniture was not). We called several times and when I finally spoke to Francisco, was given the run around. If you decide to use these movers, or any others for that matter, thoroughly inspect every item they touched to be sure it's not damaged because once you've signed the paper, they'll refuse liability. My husband & I could not have been happier with the service we received from the moment we booked our move with Riverbend Moving & Storage. Chris (Operations Manager) couldn't have been more helpful. He always answered our questions & even took us through what would happen on the day of the move. Our movers were Ken & Curtis. They were right on time & so friendly from the moment they stepped through our door. They didn't waste anytime getting right to work. We will definitely be using them again as our possessions are in storage at their facility. We will absolutely recommend this moving company to anyone in need of movers. Wildly incompetent and unprofessional drivers. They will get violently agressive when asked to move a truck blocking an essential, one way alley. Really not a good look for a company claiming to provide professional service. Do not hire. It would appear from other reviews and the lame excuses that follow that this is typical of their performance. What a clueless, incompetent and unprofessional owner. The best part is he claims half the negative reviews are fake or simply try to gaslight the negative reviewer, a tactic used often by spousal and child abusers. I am giving them a 1 star rating for lack of information. The movers were great and extremely helpful, but my less-than-two hours move cost me an arm and a leg. First of all they charge for an hourly rate and on top of that they charge for a labor rate as well. I wasn't explained that these two costs were separate and I ended up spending way too much on a move that was not worth $600 dollars. Make sure you're breaking everything up front, so you do not leave customers disappointed and angry. Contracted to help with a very small move, 2 pcs of furniture, damaged a wall but wasn't bad so I let it go. I was then contacted by by they office to do repairs on 1 of their customers houses they did damage to. Did repairs to help them save face... They then proceeded to block my # and NOT pay the bill.... These people will break and damage your property without 2nd thought and just leave you hanging, not enough man enough to answer the phone, instead they block you like little kids would do!! I hired Wayne & his team to move my mother's 80 yr old upright piano out of the basement and transport it to an alternate location. This piano held a considerable amount of sentimental value to my mother (not to mention the actual $5000 value) and I wanted an experienced company to handle this undertaking. These are legibly the worst mover I have ever dealt with!! Do not use them!! They "miss placed" a mirror, dropped and crushed several boxes that were marked fragile, scratched must of our furniture and damaged walls in our nice place. Trust me you want to look at different movers unless you want your belongings to be "miss placed"or damaged! Drivers had no care for our floors. They didn't wear booties and our floor was covered in their filth. One of the movers went poop in our bathroom, leaving the bathroom smelly and disgusting, from the amount of poop. They also came unprepared without a pen and screwdriver, and never asked to borrow the pen and just took it from our drawer without asking. Also, they complained about our hutch the whole time while moving it and were acting like children. 0/5, would not use again. read more

They were late, damaged lots of my furniture, tracked A LOT of mud all over my new carpet and told me it's $60 to put down blankets to keep the carpet clean. They took a long break and got lost and charged me for that time. After 4 hours, they still hadn't finished moving a studio apartment worth of stuff. These people are very unprofessional. My wife was turning left coming home the other day. Our driver side signal light is burnt out. One of your drivers flipped out on my wife because her signal light didn't work. He proceeded to block my wife in with the moving truck after she backed into her stall and called my wife a "bitch" and "retard". Now we are worried of the person coming back as they know where we live. This is extremely unprofessional and worrisome. read more

Most importantly, this place estimated a two hour move and it took over five hours for which they fully charged without apology. Three watches were lost in the move. A side table was damaged.
