When towels finally arrived there were only bath towels (no face towels or wash cloths), There were no comfortable chairs in the room, only two hard backless benches and small table. There was constant noise from open air bars/restaurants with live music and persistent loud motorcycle traffic. We initially prepaid for two nights, but checked out after only one night due to the intolerable conditions. They promised to "look into a refund" for the unused night, but have been totally unresponsive to phone calls and texts over several weeks. We finally filed a dispute with Mastercard to recoup the cost of the paid for, but unused, second night AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

Be prepared that due to Covid it's best if you brought some Clorox wipes with you in case you want to wipe your room down. Also if you want a bag for b'fast you need to fill out the form at the front desk the night before. I felt safe in the hotel. The river was soothing eve in winter.

Unicoi has 2 swimming pools (1 of them heated), club room with pool tables, putt putt, basketball court, tennis court, community fire pits w/ free firewood, laundry mat, propane filling station, and pet park. There are SO many events going on throughout the year at the campground (especially the summer) with movie nights, ice cream socials, etc. and the campground is just a couple miles from Downtown Helen, tubing, and great hiking trails. Upon arrival, the concierge was very welcoming and made a special point to explain how the hotel has a partnership with Paul Thomas Chocolates in Dahlonega. She gave us a coupon that said (and she very explicitly said) it was good for one free piece of chocolate bark *per person* in the party, so my partner and I were entitled to a total of 2 free pieces of chocolate. When we took the coupon to the chocolate shop, the young man working there refused to honor it. He said he had always been told to give one piece of chocolate only. We asked him to read the coupon again because this was not what it stated, nor was it what the concierge said. He still refused. My boyfriend told him that the partnership needed to fix their coupons if they weren't going to honor them. Anyway, the cabin was clean and cozy, and the bed was very comfortable other than the pillows. Sheets were buttery soft. Overall I was happy with our stay.
