We booked three nights but decided to stay an additional night because the rates were so fair and it was a comfortable stay. Check-in was super easy; the room was clean and tidy, and the bed was large and comfy. This hotel is right across from Betty's Country Store, next to Jolly Toys, a good German Bakery and Cafe (Hofers), the Christmas Shoppe, and the Two Tire Tavern. It's also just minutes, by foot, from the main street shops and The Georgia Mountain Coaster. The owner is very attentive and nice. There are chairs out front so you can sit and enjoy the Mountain View's or people watch. Stay here if you want a comfy stay without breaking the bank. Oh yeah; they love pets too. Jeff read more

Great location in downtown Helen. The rooms are a bit dated. Our bathroom door needed painting badly and some tissues in the bathroom are usually expected. Don't expect to be able to check in before 4pm unless you pay for it, not even an hour earlier. Our suite was around $300 and I think we could have done better for the price. read more

Its outdated /not romantic at all ! Smells old and musky Hot tub not working. Furniture should be haul to the curb. I won't even sit on the chairs, it looked disgusting. (I tried not to think about the mattress) Would not recommend any accommodations at that place unless they revamp the whole place. (Stayed 1 night) read more

Dirtiest hotel I've ever been in. Someone's dirty laundry left in the bed rungs. Spit all over the bathroom mirror. No soap in the dispenser. Why do you even bother to leave an empty bottle? Hair and dust gathering in all corners of the bathroom. Tried to open the blinds for daylight, they don't work and there is a layer of filth on those as well. Obviously never cleaned from the time they were put in. No additional blankets just a thin bedspread. There is no stopper in the bathroom sink. Open concept as well just a door to the toilet and shower. The sink and mirror are part of the bedroom. The water in the shower is messed up as well. Had to unplug the refrigerator to stop the noise it was making throughout the night. No hair dryer so if you by chance want to stay bring your own along with household bleach to do your own cleaning. I'd give it no stars but had to press one to post this for the next person looking to stay. I warned you. read more

What a great place to stay. We visited 2 years ago and when we came back to Helen this weekend my daughter begged to stay at the Heidi Motel again. She said it feels at home to her and not like a hotel room. Very clean, nice furniture, great location looking over town. Walking distance to everything. This was the first time my sister, mom and I came to Helen, Georgia. We were staying elsewhere for a few days and decided to stay another day so we booked a room here. I received a message from Michelle shortly after booking. She welcomed us to the motel and gave us information on how to check in as well as how to check out and if we needed anything to just let her know. We had a wonderful experience at the Heidi hotel in Helen, Georgia. It's basically a self-check-In process, but you can communicate with the manager via text easily and they are very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The location is great! The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable... the kids loved that they had Disney+ streaming service. We'll definitely stay here again. read more

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! It's at the perfect location, which is at the beginning of the town. The rooms are comfy, especially the beds. Bathrooms are a bit small and confining, but it pushes you to get ready faster to hit the town. If you are in need of an extra cot, ask the front desk. The staff is super friendly and go above and beyond in customer service. I plan on returning for my birthday. read more

We seriously enjoyed our stay at the Heidi Motel while travelling to Helen for a family wedding. Other relatives stayed on the east side of Main Street (closer to the Georgia Mountain Coaster) and their rooms weren't nearly as nice as our newly remodeled room at Heidi Motel. Also the Heidi Motel is close to Betty's Country Store, Hofer's Bakery, and Cimmi's Courtyard Cafe (Cimmi's was the best breakfast we had on the entire trip) and you can travel to Unicoi from the motel without hitting downtown Helen traffic. The staff is kind and attentive. We asked if they had a nightstand lamp to use during our stay and they didn't have a spare lamp, so manager actually went to Walmart (at least a 30 minute drive from town) and bought a new lamp for our room! The one potential issue for folks like us with fitness and mobility issues is that the motel is on the top of a steep hill. We're Floridians and we're used to flat surfaces, so that hill gave us a challenging workout! But it was worth it to crash in our clean, comfortable room after the uphill climb. If you're going to Helen for hiking I'm sure you won't even notice the hill. read more

Ok so here is the deal...... I love to support small businesses especially in this economy. We decided to go to Helen Georgia for Octoberfest. Yes I know that this is prime time so prices will be higher but I expect something for my money. The rooms here have been updated they say but for the money I paid .... I definitely would expect more. Things were definitely shabby and there was a hole in the wall with some paint missing? We also asked upfront when reserving for a roll away bed for our daughter. This was another extra charge which I feel is ridiculous added to the already expensive rate for a motel this old and run down. When we got there the roll away was not in the room and the current person at the front did not know about it. They brought one to the room while we were out but it was broken and the mattress was wet. So at 1000 at night we had to call to get another roll away and it all seemed like a bother to them. In the end - upon check out the lady stated she would refund us the roll away charge. A week later still no refund. I contacted them and asked for a refund and finally they refunded the charge. Unfortunately- this place needs more help than I can provide with this review. read more

What a quaint little Motel. We made a last minute decision to stay here and we are beyond happy we did! After an evening of strolling through the shops and dinner we settled in for the night. It felt like home and after a week of traveling and staying in other hotels it was my husband and my best night of sleep. I would highly recommend this little gem. Hi we arrived on 10/21 after 8 hour drive. The room was neat but did have dirt & hair on the bathroom floor, there were dusty bulbs on the ceiling fan. The table lamps were dusty. The coffee pot was not clean. We brought that to the attention of the hotel manager by text because there is no on-site person. we were moved to another room that was smaller but still dirty & took a picture of a bug on the wall. We sent that pic to management and were offered another room. we declined & asked for a refund that they refused ( all by text) . We had already moved 2x & did not want to waste more time moving after a 8 hour drive. It is unacceptable to stay in a dusty room w insects. read more

This hotel is simply AMAZING! From the phone call last month to book the room to arriving the staff IS EXTREMLY kind and courdious! This motel is family owned and operated and you can tell they take pride in their place! Me and my wife are staying here for our honeymoon this 4th of July weekend. We have the honeymoon suite and is rocks! It's a HUGE room with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in any motel! The location is outstanding as well! Anything you want to do in Helen is within just a few minutes walk! I could go on and on for days praising this piece of paradise on a hill in Helen, GA! It's a must stay! read more

It's definitely got that motel kind of feel, but hey, that's part of the ambience of the moment! A cute little motel that is very centrally located in Helen, easily within walking distance of most everything. The price was reasonable during the festival season, although the room we stayed in was starting to show some signs of wear and could have used some improved lighting. The room as very clean, with some nice conveniences. The shower was very nice and we enjoyed having a hot-tub on the ground floor. The staff was pleasant and allowed us to check in about an hour early. They also accomodated our request for a ground floor room which we made when making our reservation. It would have been helpful for us to have been given two room keys, but not a major issue. read more

Absolutely loved our stay here,we stayed in a king deluxe room, not the lighthouse, and our room was too cute. Great heat/ac,clean,nice tub/shower. The TV had netflix,etc, there was no noise keeping me up at night, and there was a code to the door so you didn't have to carry around a key! The staff was nice, everything is done by text message so if you need anything you just text them and they leave it by your door. Would definitely stay here again. read more

The only issue with it was that the table that the microwave and fridge were on was not level and rocked. The owners were awesome! You can tell how much they love this place. This has to be one of the best places I've stayed. The staff is very friendly & helpful. We stayed in the queen suite windmill room & man is it comfy. Room is on the small side but does have a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, & full size cabinets. This room has a beautiful view& homey feel. It comes with a comfy fuzzy blanket on the bed which I was super excited about; SO comfortable. The only thing I noticed that may be an issue is I think that they may have a lady bug infestation. BE CAREFUL with your personal belongings!!!! We left a $300 gift card in our room and it was stolen. When the owner was confronted, he blamed humanity and how untrustworthy people could be. Conveniently, the individual who had stolen the card no longer worked for Heidi when I called to speak to the owner. Helen is gorgeous and it's a shame that such an inviting and charming hotel like Heidi Motel turned out to be so dishonest and scary. read more
