HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Great location. We parked and walked downtown daily! Terry, Darlene and Sheila exceeded our expectations! So friendly and make you feel right at home! The breakfast is something we looked forward to every day! You will only get homemade, fresh food! Terry treated us to homemade banana pancakes one day and the next pecan! Fresh fruit! CLEAN! We will be back! You don't want to miss this place! Thank y'all for everything!!! You made our vacation perfect!

My wife and I just returned home from a fun weekend escape to Helen. This was our first time at the Black Forrest B&B and we loved our stay! The staff was fantastic and very friendly when we checked in. The owner showed us around and walked us through the grounds to make sure we knew where everything was. We stayed in one of the themed cabins at the top of the property. The cabin was clean, spacious and in great working order. The bed was very comfortable and we felt right at home. Breakfast was prepared fresh every morning and featured some great local foods. This little bed and breakfast is within walking distance to most everything in Helen. We're already making plans to return. Thank you BFBB for a fantastic stay!

Dear black forest b&b I just wanted too let you know how happy my heart and and sou felt while I stayed with you. A review in my mind would not do justice so instead I write you a letter of thanks. Even though there were many towns to stop at along the way during my adventure I found myself in helen ga. I followed my nose to the smell of sweet fresh cut hay and virgin river water and ended up here. A refuge in the night like a warm and welcoming hug. The staff was amazng, in fact I wouldn't even call them staff more like family. The house even seemed to say hello as the 70yr old wooden floors creaked beneath my feet as I entered the house. My room was simple (and exotic with a hear shaped tub) but clean and charming. Something I would hope to find at a grandparents house. The bed itself was something from a dream. Soft and fluffy, and like a cloud. The fire place made my stay perfect as it let off a warm glow through the night that gave just enough light to see that there was no one there when I heard footsteps at 2am. In the morning the nice gentelman at the front made me a fresh cup of joe and even started chow early for me. As I sit on the porch listening to the lovely waterfall I find myslef not wanting to depart this calm and peafecul place. There's nothing better then wet moss, waterfalls, and coffee at 6am. Thank you for making my stay wonderful. I will be back. Sgt H US Army P.s. whom ever buys this b&b please take care of it. its a true diamond in the ruff. I never checked to see if they had wifii because I was to busy out wondering the town. The give military discounts so the overall price after the discount was good. Compared the the run of the mill hotels in this town this is the best.

Notice the beautiful painting on the wall, it really opens the room up !

I was worried it might be too small, but it was just right! I stayed in the loft bedroom's king sized bed and my friend stayed on the queen sized sleeper sofa downstairs. We had perfect timing and got to see the leaves changing color and enjoy the cool weather (being from South Florida these are both unusual!) We cooked some of our meals at the cabin in the well-stocked kitchen. There is a full fridge, stove/oven and a full set of dishes, glasses, cooking utensils and silverware. It got cold enough that we made hot apple cider and lit the wood burning fireplace. It was also nice to have the hot tub to soak in after a day out on the town in the cold. The nearby town of Helen is an adorable Bavarian Alpine Village with great little shops and restaurants. We also drove to nearby Dahlonega to check out the shops and artists there. We were able to go horseback riding at the Sunburst Stables in Clarkesville and we also took a trip to the North Georgia Zoo in Cleveland - I highly recommend both! I can't wait to come back in the summer to enjoy some more outdoor activities like tubing on the Chattahoochee River or boating on Unicoi Lake at Unicoi State Park.

We would definitely go back! We were a a short drive away from Clarkesville which had nice food, and of course we loved visiting the Old Sautee store, and coffee place across the road. The home itself was great- nice amenities, layout, neighborhood and location…read more Upon check-in on Wednesday we discovered sticky mouse traps throughout the home and found a mouse the following day (Thursday). The property management company was immediately made aware of the situation and said that they would send someone to clean the home, but stated that pest control had serviced the home the day before and that it's very hard to catch a single mouse. We returned home from a hike on Thursday after the cleaning crew had reportedly cleaned to discover mouse droppings throughout the home and subsequently took it upon ourselves to call the exterminator that had serviced the home prior to our arrival. The exterminator came quickly and laid out more sticky traps. The property management company provided us with the maid's contact information and we arranged for housekeeping to come that afternoon. Mind you, housekeeping only vacuumed and mopped the kitchen and dining room, even though we were not eating in the house for fear of sanitation concerns. We woke up Friday morning to mouse droppings and chewed up glue traps covering the kitchen floor, mouse droppings on the kitchen counter and a torn up glue trap under the couch with clumps of hair adhered to it. My husband had to scrub the floors with Clorox wipes as cleaning services were unavailable when this was discovered at 7:45 AM and we didn't want our toddlers touching and/or putting mouse droppings or pieces of sticky traps in their mouths. Upon notifying the property management company of our findings Friday morning (halfway through our stay) they offered to relocate us to a different home, however, the layout of that home was not suitable for our family which is why we did not rent that home when looking at properties. I contacted the exterminator who returned to the home and voiced concerns about a possible rat based on the appearance of the hair on the trap. I also contacted housekeeping to coordinate their return to the home. My husband and I notified the property management company about the exterminator's concerns and also expressed our growing frustrations with the situation and requested that some of our stay be compensated given that the rodent hadn't been caught and the alternative home offered was not appropriate for our family. They ensured us that they would do everything they could to try to make it right. On Saturday morning (the day before our trip ended) we caught a mouse with one of the snap traps that my husband purchased. In spite of housekeeping servicing the property daily my mother-in-law discovered mouse droppings in her pillowcase when she stripped the sheets on the day of our departure. After our stay had ended we made several attempts to contact the property management company about updates regarding the pending refund, but did not hear back from them until I escalated the situation to Vrbo. They offered to refund us for one of the four nights that we stayed in the home. We understand that situations especially those involving wildlife and pests can be difficult to control, however, we do find it irresponsible that the home was rented knowing that there was an active rodent infestation because we would not have stayed there had we been privy to this information. Now we are in the process of contacting the homeowner to make him/ her aware of the lack of support and care Cabin Rentals of Helen provided.
