We parked near the boat launch and took the 1.5-mile loop to the waterfall, a beautiful, family-friendly walk with no complaints from the kids! The waterfall itself is stunning. We kicked off our shoes, dipped our feet in the cool water, and climbed around the rocks above the falls. There are more challenging hikes if you're feeling adventurous, and it's only about 10 minutes to great Hudson riverfront dining afterward. My family parked near the entrance and used the trail next to the parking lot. There is a giant hill leading down to the falls which means the hike back is tough and almost breathless. I personally feel like seeing the falls makes it all worth it. When arriving at the falls, there are such a wide variety of humans who are climbing, swimming, sitting in nature, enjoying picnics, taking pictures and even knitting. While we typically do the quick falls hike, know that multiple trails exist and that maps will be provided upon entry. Enjoy!!

After the heat took its toll, we decided to head over to GNG for some indoor fun. It is located in the midst of a sea of warehouses but you're not lost...it has a huge jungle gym space that requires those tall ceilings. The space is clean, as are the restrooms, with hand sanitizer throughout as well. There are snacks, drinks, and coffee for purchase. The prices are affordable and we opted for the $15 combo passes for the three kids to play in the gym and play 18 holes of mini golf. The play space is enclosed with socks required, so bring those with you (or purchase at GNG). There is an abundance of seating for parents to sit outside the play space or you can go in at no cost as a spectator. Our kids (7 & 11) loved both the jungle gym and the mini golf. There was no one in the large mini golf area and it is black lit and decorated in a pirate and nautical theme that was a lot of fun. I honestly would come back here to play mini golf without my kids with friends or my spouse. With kids was great, too, but the mini golf is also adult-friendly. The arcade was extremely expensive and not worth it, in our opinion. Makes sense, as they likely also pay a game rental company for use of the games. The one item our kids had success with and happiness from was a rubber duck claw machine that guarantees a winner. My family visited to see a horse…read moreand that same day, we made it clear that we wanted to move forward with purchasing him and would pay in cash pending the vet's clearance. We were simply waiting on final feedback from the vet and felt confident about the next steps. However, we were later told that the horse had been shown to another interested party who ended up placing a deposit. At no point during our visit or follow-up were we informed that a deposit was required to secure him. We absolutely would have placed a deposit immediately if that had been communicated. We were told an email had been sent, but it was missed during a busy workday. Given how time-sensitive these situations are, a quick phone call would have made all the difference--especially since we were only contacted by phone after the horse was no longer available.  Overall, the lack of clear and timely communication was extremely frustrating and left us heartbroken. We hope this feedback encourages better communication practices in the future so other families don't have a similar experience.

I had intended to propose to my girlfriend (at 60 years of age!) up in the balloon the day before she travelled for a month. The weather was perfect but they cancelled early in the morning. There are horror stories in some reviews of 25 reservations being cancelled before finally getting a flight. Yes, they do list they don't give refunds, but now they have almost $800 of my money until a flight next year or the year after. I recommend they don't charge customers until the day of services being rendered. This is like a Ponzi scheme and if the business possibly goes bankrupt, you lose all of your money. I suspect they are sitting on tens of thousands of dollars of future flights. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
