This snowpark is intense. Make sure you have protective gear for your kids (helmets, etc.) and know what you're getting into.

RIVER TUBING REVIEW…read more I will choose this place again and again! Only a 35 minute drive from St Paul. Very well run - you show up, pay for tubes and rope to connect your group, can turn your keys in to the desk, and your on your way! It took us 2 hours to get down the river in mid July. I was told that's quick! There are picnic tables along the route where people stop and gather. They pick you up in a bus at the end (clearly marked) and it's a 5 minute drive back to your car. The river was clean enough, we didn't run into TOO many trees haha. Wear shoes too, the bottom of the river is rocky. It was $20 a tube, $1 for rope, and we did buy an extra tube for our cooler of drinks. Bring a cooler! It costs $20 even if you bring your own tube. I can PROMISE they won't run out of tubes, ever, which was a fear of mine haha. My only feedback is they need to get tubes with cup holders haha. Wear sunscreen and have a DD! Again I will be back here, great Saturday activity!!

I hadn't…read morebeen down the Apple River since I was a kid and was back in town from California so we went with another family And everyone had a blast. When we showed up it was drizzling and the employees actually recommended against us going because people get cold when it's raining but we wanted to go anyway & fortunately it stopped. (Everything I read on yelp before this was the company wanted to get every cent they cut out of you etc. this was counter to that and they were definitely customer friendly) All the employees were very nice to us, told everyone what to expect, got our equipment tubes and we got a cooler tube And we were off. On the tail end of the river their employee was there waiting for us load it up and got in the truck to go back no problems whatsoever. The other family we went with had not been b4 & had three kids and had a total blast said they would definitely go back. Very relaxing day I would say we were there on a Thursday and I'm sure it gets crazy on the weekends but our experience was very peaceful met a few other families on the river, had a few drinks and snacks and a great day overall!!

Now that we have teenagers, we just come for a fun time once in a great while. My favorite part is the lazy river. I could spend hours relaxing f there and it has this super fun tube slide too. For the toddlers, there's a zero depth entry part of the pool, with a cute mini slide and splash pad. For the grade school kids, there's slides are always a hit. For our tweens, they loved the deeper part of the pool with the super fast slides. And of course we all love the lazy river. The season passes also include unlimited mini golf on their super cute 9 hole course that includes a fabulous waterfall. I even love that they have mandatory safety breaks at the top of each hour to ensure the lifeguards get a break and gives our kids a chance to reapply sunscreen.

Fun for the kids, sure. lazy river, lots of fun slides. The 2 HUGE drawbacks for the grown ups were…read more1- They blast bad pop and "classic" rock music, pretty sure they do it on purpose to annoy people enough to want to leave sooner than they normally would. 2 - The food. 3 of us chose cheeseburgers and they were so dry, salty, and overcooked! Another problem was there wasn't really enough shaded spots. We got there 5 mins after they opened and we were able to find chairs but nothing in the shade. I suppose if you line up to get in before they open you could find shaded spots.

The water was fairly shallow and easy to navigate. It took us maybe 2.5 hours for our kayak trip with beautiful scenery. We saw deer, 2 fawns with spots and a doe. We saw two bald eagles and 1 golden eagle, blue herons, turtles, kingfisher, turkey vulture etc. The parking is free; there is a bathroom where you put in. You need to sign waivers before going. They offer PFDs to everyone; under 18 must wear PFD.

This area is beautiful and we saw many Bald Eagles as we strolled down the Cannon River. I don't think this was too expensive and it was a lot of fun. We had not been kayaking before and my wife was clueless. I had used canoes when I was a kid and had been up to the Boundary Waters, I felt okay. We told the people that it was our first time and without much of any instruction, they put her in the kayak and away she went. I felt like they could have done anything to make her more comfortable. The rental area is a shack, basically. They put you in kayaks and then pick you up in an hour from departure at the pick up point. Look for the large pink rock, that is where you exit the river to be picked up. We had the last time slot with several people overturning and having to empty their kayak, not me, I stayed dry. The people that had to drain their kayak wasted a lot of time and we were late to our pick-up at the end of the day when you know they wanted to go home and start their weekend. I felt bad but it wasn't my fault. This was a fun time. I would recommend that you have some experienced people to help you if you are new at this. The people running this place are not interested in spending time teaching you how to stay dry. That is up to you.
