I checked on the coupons for VE. They are offering a BOGO in the Onion, CityPages and Vita.Mn. Or at least they did this last week.

I have a bit of a fear of heights so the first time dropping down on the auto belay was definitely gut checking.

If you have fond memories of Midwest Mountaineering, that longtime Cedar-Riverside staple, this new…read moreoutdoor activity gear shop is definitely good news for you! That shop's manager has now opened Lake State Mountaineering with similar wares and similar values. So we're talking high quality canoeing, climbing, camping, and hiking gear from a combination of large, small, and local vendors. They have a website you can order from, but if you want to browse in person and get knowledgeable advice from this passionate crew, you can pop into the shop. They have some pretty high-end merchandise, but I'm seeing some tempting sale offers and they have a rental program that might help you get kitted out for an adventure. This storefront location might be tricky to find at first. Enter through the building's Washington Avenue door, next to the barber shop, then follow the signs through the door there and up the stairs, where you'll spot them. I promise there's a nice store up there! You're on your own for parking but it's easy enough to find metered street parking. If you want to properly gear up for this kind of activity and want the best equipment, sold to you be a locally-owned store who will give you honest recommendations that come from deep experience, this is where to go.

I love it and I could go on and on about Hotworx! Hotworx is very different from every other gym because all of the workouts are in saunas. It's intensely hot and you're supposed to work out! I do it five times a week, so I assure you, it can be done. Because the sessions are in saunas set to around 125F, they are shorter than they would be otherwise. It really is more workout in less time. Each sauna has a video screen with virtual instructors leading you through the session. Some of them are isometric workouts like yoga & pilates, and some of them have actual cardio equipment like bike machines. There is also a traditional weight-training room with plenty of gear (that area is room-temperature, thank goodness). The owners and the staff understand that it's a new experience for most people, so they''re available to answer questions and it's easy to arrange a free workout to see what it's about. I definitely recommend giving it a try! It's a lot cheaper than the big premium gyms and it definitely works. Despite whoat a heavy workout it can be, this is the only gym routine I've ever stuck with. I never make excuses not to come in because I genuinely want to come in.

I was so excited with this location was opening north of the metro. I visited a C2 class today. The…read moreroom was very humid and warm but had been cold earlier so the floor got very wet and sweaty (slippery). The rear class room has drafty steel doors which had a towel under both of them. The instructor was very friendly and offered some hands on adjustments which is the best thing they had to offer here. I didn't appreciate that two other corepower instructors were getting special treatment at the end. I peeked my eyes open because I could smell the essential oil and she was only giving that to them. What gives? She was also testing out a new routine/flow and it was very choppy and she seemed to get lost. The instructor was friendly and so were the other staff here. The locker rooms are out in the lobby area. This seems like a okay idea I would presume to stop theft in the locker rooms. Who knows. It felt awkward. Normally they are in the locker rooms where the bathrooms and showers are. Only two restrooms and one shower. You read that right ONE SHOWER! In the land of sweaty yogis what the heck is going on here. Not only did they cheapen up the shower (most locations have glass doors) this one has a shower curtain and is smaller. I was meeting friends for brunch and had to shower. So I waited in line and then was late for brunch. I can't see myself taking a class here unless I am heading straight home afterwards. No AM yoga here for me. I'll go to northeast instead. I was told they were having a hard time finding a space for the CPY location and ended up modeling it after the New York studios.

I don't love this studio that much. I want to love it so badly though. Firstly, the location is not…read morebad but parking can be hectic because it is next to a restaurant, a gym and so many other stores in the Rosedale Common mall area. As for the studio itself, it is small. Quite disappointing since it is new and located in the suburb. Can't they find a better space than this in Roseville? It's surprisingly small, especially the women's restroom and changing room. I am not the only one who was surprised by the one shower stall. The ladies in the changing room made the same comments and left with sweaty bodies and wet dripping hair. My coworker who goes to core power also said she won't be back even though she lives in Shoreview. She would rather drive to NE. What were you thinking corepower? I can understand if you don't think shower facilities are important if it is a yoga studio but for a hot yoga place? Also is it your ploy to limit members from practicing here because this studio is not designed to support growth! I am lost for words. I have such good experience in all the other corepower.
