A friend recommended Riverhead to me, so I called them because I needed a closet door installed and I needed guidance on purchasing the door because the floor is uneven. They sent an installer on a Wednesday, who measured the opening and told me he would contact me that Friday, or at latest, the following Monday. That was over a week ago, and I never heard from him again. I have no interest in trying to chase people down if they aren't interested, so Riverhead is a dead letter for me. read more

I had a project for which i needed to go back and order mire wood. The store clerks were AMAZING-PROFESSIONAL-KIND-PATIENT with my "no knowledge" of wood or how it works. The pricing is competitive as all BUILDOING SUPPLIES went through the roof since the pandemic. The delivery people each and every time were on time, gave me an estimate and showed up within the parameters-No stories of delay etc. The quality of the wood was EXCELLENT as i was working on an intricate projest that was high end for people to see. I called in the office to REPORT the driver for an excellent job abd the gal said shell let Brian know that i was 100% satisfied with my purchase, the timing, the cost, the delivery and the product. I called into this location to ask if they had a material I was looking for which I was told "yes", took the 30 minute drive to be told "we don't have that here" which I responded to "I called and was told you guys did" and the response I got was "no you didn't"....how are you telling me what I did or didn't do? If I could give 0 stars I would. Terrible customer service they've billed me twice on something I HAVE NOT PURCHASED. They originally held $2000 on my credit card to cover what my contractor would eventually order. He ordered 800$ worth of material originally of which I paid for immediately. They would not give me the remaining 1200 dollars so that was the first credit card dispute I had to go through. NOW They HARASS me with phone calls telling me I owe them 1000$ for materials I HAVE NOT ORDERED OR RECEIVED?! So, They've charged my credit card twice. When I call to speak to someone about the charges they pass me over to different people and then hang up. When I ask to speak to the manager directly he picks the phone up tells me I have an outstanding balance with them and slams the phone without letting me put one word in. They are fraudulent, and they are rude. With the original order they had my dad and our contractor waiting for an order for TEN days( since our home in river-head is our vacation home we don't live there year round.) So for 10 days when we'd call to ask if the order was coming that day, they'd give us a time we'd tell my dad to expect delivery guys at that time and then when the time would pass, my dad would then call them back to see if they were on their way and they'd pick the phone up tell my dad to be patient and slam the phone on him again. Eventually the materials came ( damaged but they came) and I thought it'd be done there but I now am disputing more charges from them. I'd rather rip my eyelashes off one by one and jam nails underneath my toenails then ever have to deal with them again. According to my credit card once they disputed the first time they RECHARGED ME for the original order ( which like I said I paid for immediately so I don't have to deal with them any longer) PLUS the 1000$. So that's a total of 3000 they've charged me trying to make me pay where my original order was only $800. read more

Not even worth a 1 star rating. The WORST customer service! We would never order anything with them again. The rep we dealt with did not respond to emails or calls in a timely manner. They would not commit to time of delivery but we were told it would probably be a morning delivery. Its 1:25 pm, still waiting, and no response to my call. To update! I called at 2:30ish because my call from this morning was not returned. I was told there was no carrier for my order! This after my husband emailed and spoke to the rep Friday/Saturday. Delivery is now Thursday...we hope! read more

Good place to buy materials. The service is not something I would recommend. I'm sure not all employees are careless and do care about their jobs. I've done a lot of business with their store out in Greenport , LI and the lumber has always been dry but the lumber these guys sold me was literally soaked (over 30% moisture content). I've had to resort to stacking it in an air conditioned room and this has caused me to postpone the work. When I called them to express my discontent the person I spoke to suggested that in the future I place an order with one of their other stores that carried kiln dried lumber. I would have appreciated it if they had given me the option when I placed the order. read more
