Absolute worst! Tried to use the atm that was out of order and the bartender couldn't be bothered bc "it wasn't busy." The wings and atmosphere was delightful! My son use to go here with his buddies when they were at Wilkes and continued going there. He now is in the Army and misses the wings back home. We went during the day and everyone was very nice. The cook even came out to check and see if we liked his wings! We will be back! read more

This was a place I went consistently in my twenties, loved it but now they only want bigots to be their patrons and I respect that. Every business has the right to choose who they want to frequent there but if you're going to put a coupon in a clipper then obviously u only care about making a few dollars. I am going to start off with the good stuff, salad was huge and cut perfectly, no bad produce like a lot of places do and vegetables cut the right way. The pizza was perfect. It always was. Chicken fingers were super meaty and motz sticks pulled like it was party time. Mom loved the mushroom Swiss burger but my husband and I had a non flavorful blt and Turkey wrap. They are just on the menu for drunk people I assume. We made the wrong choice. The menu needs to be updated cuz it's says either fries or slaw but there is no slaw and the fries are not good. Obviously all fries at a bar are from frozen but these are just not the right purchase, taste like all starch no flavor. There are tables but it's all self serve to the bartender. Don't go there thinking ur gonna have a waitstaff, it's just not that kind of place. And please don't judge them on that, it's a bar not a restaurant. Get the pizza and salad burgers. Also the cook who brings out the food is wonderful. Very polite and considerate. Also, there are garbage cans everywhere so help him out and empty the wax paper. Now the bad part. I respect that this business is in a wonderful location and they don't need my family's business, I just don't get why they would advertise in a free magazine that comes to everyone in the mail monthly if they don't want liberals. There's a sign that says if u voted for biden then put the signs back up so the illegals know where to go for free food, no one I know ever put up signs,there's another that says a big long thing about merry Christmas and guns and says to get out if u don't like it. We were laughing about these cuz hey it's kinda funny but I went to the bathroom before we left and the woman's bathroom says for from birth women only. My mom is 68 and was raised in an Irish catholic family but she said she will never go there again because of all that, that sign set her off and she was mad. Hey certain foods are great! This is the 2nd week in a row that my food has been made incorrectly. I've ordered the mushroom swiss burger WITH bacon and never got bacon, this week they put an American on my burger and I cannot have American and was told I would be charged for ANOTHER burger if they had to remake it. So I did not eat anything. When we played the slot game and won 48.00 the ticket never printed and when I mentioned this to the bartender I was told someone may or may not come down tonight by closing to pay me, or maybe I would get my 48.00 later in the week. She didnt take my name or my information for the payout and then blow me off after that. Our bill came and my uneaten, Mismade meal was still on the bill and I was told I still had to pay for it, Even though the kitchen didn't make it correctly and that they in fact ran out of swiss cheese the day before but didn't bother telling me this. Shift change came and went and still no payout for the slot machine and no compensation for the food. So much for the neighborhood bar being a decent one. I feel like im on bar rescue before jon walks in lol. First time visiting, and the atmosphere is unwelcoming, and getting anyone to wait on on you is on you the customer. They just walk past you even when you leave empty glasses out to show them you are empty. Good luck with trying to get them leave the bar that won't happen, I've been to plenty of bars and all operate to cather to new guest. My first one were I was seen as a house plant. read more

When the first thing you see is a sign on the door that says: "No bandanas, no sideways baseball caps, pull up your pants" you know that some folks in Wilkes-Barre long for the days of Jim Crow. Other than that, not much distinguishes this overly loud neighborhood bar. Way too many TVs for such a tiny place. The attached pizza shop has some decent wings/pizza/subs. read more

I've been here more than a few times. This first thing to note is how smokey it is. Downstairs and upstairs. I hate waking up in the morning after having been here. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about this bar. The staff is very friendly. Great for watching spots. They have plenty of TV's. The food is excellent. On certain days, you're able to reserve the upstairs for parties and events, which includes a bartender, for a fee. read more

My husband and I were at the riverside cafe this evening and I can honestly say we will not be returning. The amount of smoke from the smokers was atrocious, our clothes (especially our coats) now need to be dry cleaned to remove the odor of smoke from them. The bartender barely acknowledged me as she was hanging on my husband and always refilling his beer but not my own. I guess she didn't think that maybe I was the one who was paying this evening and the one tipping her. At one point she was laughing about another patron that had some sort of issue over the weekend stating how funny it was that they scammed the woman out of almost 60.00 and there wasn't anything the woman could do about it because they kept telling her there was no real owner of the bar and how he was in Florida and unreachable to give her money owed to her. Although these things may sound bad, nothing beats when a Spanish looking man walked in and someone shouted out "if you dont speak English get the f*$# out" I was embarrassed for the gentleman to say the least. You have definitely lost a returning customer due to what I witnessed this evening. read more

I was overcharged and called a derogatory term by the owners daughter. When I tried to dispute my bill I was told to leave.

Don't waste your money in the jukebox. It will be skipped by the bartenders - and blamed on the owner wanting to hear something else. This place is a South Wilkes-Barre establishment - otherwise I would have dropped it down to about 2 stars. The food isn't all that great either - but they do try to improve their menu regularly. read more
